The correct installation method depends on the platform and file type. On Xbox 360, you can use Team Management → Roster Share → Download Roster when a compatible file is online, or transfer an Xbox 360 offline roster with a console-formatted USB drive and a Windows save tool such as Horizon or Modio. PS3 uses a PS3-specific file and its own USB or PSN procedure. RPCS3 and College Football Revamped require files built for those environments. Never substitute a PS3, RPCS3, or modded file for an Xbox 360 save.

Choose the right installation method

Start by identifying where you run NCAA Football 14 and whether your roster is offered through an in-game service or as a downloadable offline file. A roster save is not interchangeable between Xbox 360, PS3, RPCS3, and modded builds.

Platform or build Available route What you need Important limitation
Xbox 360 with roster sharing In-game download Internet-connected console and a visible community file Only works while a compatible roster is available through the game service
Xbox 360 offline USB transfer through Windows Xbox 360-formatted USB flash drive, Windows PC, Horizon or Modio, Xbox 360 roster file The downloaded file must be for Xbox 360 and must replace a console-created roster save
PlayStation 3 PSN search or PS3 offline transfer PS3-specific roster and the release’s USB or PSN instructions Xbox 360 save tools and folder steps do not apply
RPCS3 or College Football Revamped Build-specific file installation Roster labeled for your exact emulator or mod build Standard console saves may not work with the modded build

Community posts often include a platform label in the filename or download heading. Treat that label as a requirement, not a suggestion. If the post does not clearly identify the target platform, do not copy the file until the release author provides that information.

For an Xbox 360 offline installation, the only physical accessory specifically required by the documented workflow is a USB flash drive that the console can format. No particular brand, capacity, or paid service is established as necessary. Buy a compatible drive only after checking that it can be formatted and recognized by your console; the drive is a transfer device, not a replacement for the game or a save editor.

Before you download anything

Confirm the game environment

Check whether you are using an original Xbox 360 release, an original PS3 release, RPCS3, or a College Football Revamped installation. A roster made for one environment can appear damaged, fail to appear in the menu, or load with incorrect data in another. Also check whether the release is intended for an unmodified game or for a particular modded database and title update.

Keep a backup

Do not overwrite your only working roster. On Xbox 360, keep the original console-created save on the USB drive or copy it to a separate safe location before editing. If a replacement fails, you can restore the untouched save and try again. On PS3 and RPCS3, retain the existing save-data folder or emulator save before importing anything.

Check the file’s age and identity

Roster creators change download links, Xbox gamertags, and PSN identities. Historical release posts list identities such as vikesfan059 and mjk4life82, but those names are examples from older releases, not a guarantee that the same account is active in 2026. Use the newest roster thread for the current file and account information. A release date also matters: a file can be perfectly valid yet contain an older season’s ratings, transfers, or depth charts.

Read the release notes completely

Before copying a file, note the target platform, required tool, expected save name, and any import or conversion step. Some releases provide an already prepared console save; others provide roster data that must be inserted into a console-created container. Those are different workflows. Do not infer that a file is ready to copy merely because it has a familiar extension.

Xbox 360: download through Roster Share

This is the simplest method when the game can see a compatible community file online. It does not require a Windows save editor or USB transfer.

  1. Start NCAA Football 14 and enter the main menu.
  2. Open Team Management.
  3. Select Roster Share, then choose Download Roster.
  4. Browse the available community files and select the roster you want.
  5. Allow the game to complete the download and save operation. Do not turn off the console during the transfer.
  6. Open Settings → File Management → Load → Rosters.
  7. Select the downloaded roster, then use the game’s roster-management or Depth Chart screen to verify that the teams and players loaded correctly.
  8. Save a second copy under a distinct name if you want a rollback point before editing the roster.

The online list is not permanent. If no suitable file appears, an account is unavailable, or the service does not return results, use the offline USB route instead. Do not assume that a historical gamertag or an old release name is still valid. An empty search is usually a file-availability issue, not proof that your console’s save system is broken.

Xbox 360: install an offline roster with USB

The dependable offline workflow has two phases: first create a legitimate NCAA Football 14 roster save on the Xbox 360, then replace its roster data on a Windows PC. The console-created save supplies the structure and device information the Xbox 360 expects. Simply placing a downloaded file in the USB root generally does not create a usable game save.

Materials and prerequisites

  • NCAA Football 14 installed on an Xbox 360.
  • A USB flash drive that the Xbox 360 can format and use for saved content.
  • A Windows PC with access to the USB drive.
  • Horizon or Modio, as specified by the roster release. Some older instructions specifically identify Modio 3.
  • The downloaded Xbox 360 offline roster file. A PS3, RPCS3, or Revamped file is not a substitute.

The USB drive must be formatted by the Xbox 360 before you use it for this process. Formatting it on a computer first does not create the console content structure required by the game. Formatting can erase existing files, so copy personal data elsewhere first. The Windows PC is used for save handling; it does not replace the console’s initial formatting step.

Create the console save

  1. Insert the USB flash drive into the Xbox 360.
  2. Allow the console to format the drive if it asks. Formatting erases existing content on that drive, so move anything important elsewhere first.
  3. Start NCAA Football 14.
  4. Open Settings → File Management → Save.
  5. Change the save category from Profile to Roster. Leaving it on Profile creates the wrong type of save.
  6. Open the device-selection control and choose the USB drive.
  7. Save a roster with a recognizable name, such as a temporary name that makes it easy to identify on the PC.
  8. Use the console’s safe-removal process before disconnecting the USB drive.

At this point you have a valid Xbox 360 roster container. You have not installed the community roster yet; you have created the file that the Windows tool will edit. If the console offers multiple storage devices, confirm that the save went to the USB rather than the internal hard drive.

Replace the roster data on Windows

  1. Connect the USB drive to the Windows PC.
  2. Open Horizon or Modio and locate the NCAA Football 14 roster save created by the console. The save is inside the Xbox content directory rather than being an ordinary document in the USB root.
  3. Make a backup copy of that original save before making any changes. Give it a name that identifies it as the untouched container.
  4. Open the downloaded Xbox 360 offline roster in the tool if the release instructions require a separate source file.
  5. Replace the console-created save’s roster data with the downloaded roster data. Follow the release’s exact import or replace command; do not simply rename a PS3 or RPCS3 file.
  6. Use the tool’s save operation and complete rehash/resign, or the equivalent operation, when the release instructions require it. A completed workflow may report that the file was “Saved, Rehashed, and Resigned to device.”
  7. Close the save tool before removing the USB drive. Do not unplug it while the program is writing.
  8. Safely eject the USB drive from Windows.

Rehashing and resigning update the save’s integrity and device-related information. Skipping that step when the release calls for it can cause the Xbox 360 to reject the file or report that it is damaged. The exact button names differ between tools, so use the operation named by the roster release rather than guessing at advanced options.

Load the edited roster on Xbox 360

  1. Reconnect the USB drive to the Xbox 360.
  2. Start NCAA Football 14.
  3. Open Settings → File Management → Load → Rosters.
  4. Select the edited roster save.
  5. Open Depth Chart or another roster-management screen and inspect several teams before starting a Dynasty.
  6. If the roster is correct, save a new in-game copy with a different name so the transferred file remains available for recovery.

If the roster loads, save a second copy under a new name on the console. Keeping the transferred file and a separate working copy makes it easier to recover if a later edit goes wrong. Verify more than one team because a file can load successfully while still being the wrong season or build.

PS3: use a PS3-specific release

PS3 installation is separate from Xbox 360 installation. Download a file explicitly marked for PS3 and follow the USB or PSN instructions attached to that release. Do not open a PS3 file in Horizon or Modio as though it were an Xbox 360 save. A PS3 folder can look similar to other save folders while using a different save format and identification system.

PSN search releases

Some historical roster releases distribute through PSN searches. Older walkthroughs mention identities including vikesfan059 and mjk4life82. Because those accounts and posts are dated, confirm the current identity in the latest release thread before searching. If the account no longer appears, that does not mean your console is broken; the roster may have moved to an offline download. Search names are case-sensitive in some community instructions, so copy the identity exactly as published.

Offline PS3 files

For an offline transfer, use the directory and copy sequence supplied by the PS3 roster release. The exact folder layout can differ between a stock PS3 and a modified setup, so there is no single universal path that should be applied to every console. Follow the release’s PS3-specific instructions for preparing the USB drive, copying the save, and importing it through the PS3 save-data menus.

  • Verify that the download is labeled PS3 before copying it.
  • Preserve your existing PS3 save-data backup.
  • Do not substitute Xbox 360 content-container files or Xbox save-editor steps.
  • Use the PS3’s save-data utility or the release’s documented import screen rather than placing files in an arbitrary directory.
  • Load the roster in NCAA Football 14 and inspect teams before entering Dynasty.

Because PSN identities and download links are time-sensitive, record the release date and version with the file you keep. If a roster author publishes separate stock-PS3 and modified-PS3 packages, choose the one matching your console instead of combining pieces from both.

RPCS3 and College Football Revamped

RPCS3 and College Football Revamped releases are separate targets from standard Xbox 360 and PS3 files. Modded builds can change the expected roster format, game files, team data, or installation location. Operation Sports release lists identify these as distinct versions, so a console file should never be assumed to be an emulator-ready file.

  • This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.

Match the file to the build

  1. Identify the exact RPCS3 or Revamped build you are running.
  2. Download a roster whose release heading explicitly names that environment.
  3. Read the release’s installation notes for the expected save location or import method.
  4. Back up the current emulator or modded save before replacing anything.
  5. Launch the game and verify rosters and depth charts before opening an existing Dynasty.
  6. Keep the mod’s required game files and roster package together so a later update does not mix versions.

A standard Xbox 360 save may be valid on the original console but unusable in RPCS3. Likewise, a Revamped roster may depend on modded team or database files that do not exist in an unmodified installation. If an emulator release supplies both a base save and a roster update, install them in the order specified by that release.

Comparison: which route should you use?

Use Xbox 360 Roster Share when the file is visible and you want the fewest steps. It requires no PC, but it depends on an online upload and a currently available account. Use the Xbox 360 USB method when you need an offline file or when online search is empty; it requires a console-formatted drive, Windows, and a save tool, but it is repeatable once the container and backup are prepared. Use PS3 PSN or USB instructions only for a PS3 file. Use RPCS3 or Revamped instructions when the game is running in that environment, even if you also own a physical console copy.

The main risk in every route is a platform or build mismatch. The main recovery measure is a backup of the untouched save. Roster freshness is another tradeoff: an old release may have a clear procedure but outdated identities or player data, while a newer release may change the tool or import step. Prefer the newest compatible release and retain the older known-good file until the new one is verified.

Troubleshooting common failures

The game says the file is damaged

  • Confirm that the file is for your exact platform: Xbox 360, PS3, RPCS3, or Revamped.
  • On Xbox 360, verify that you replaced the roster save created by NCAA Football 14 rather than copying an arbitrary file to the USB drive.
  • Repeat the save-tool operation and complete rehash/resign when required.
  • Use the workflow specified by the release; older Xbox instructions may call for Modio 3, while another release may specify Horizon.
  • Restore your backup and retry with a fresh console-created roster if the edited container was corrupted.
  • Check that Windows safely ejected the drive and that the save remained in the original Xbox content directory.

The roster does not appear in File Management

  • Check that the USB was formatted by the Xbox 360.
  • Make sure the save category was changed from Profile to Roster during the original console save.
  • Reconnect the USB and reopen Settings → File Management → Load → Rosters.
  • Confirm that the edited save remained in the console content structure after Windows safely ejected the drive.
  • Try the untouched console-created backup. If it appears, the problem is in the replacement file rather than the USB format.

Names or depth charts are wrong

This usually indicates a version mismatch rather than a bad USB transfer. Verify the roster’s release date, target platform, game edition, and any required mod build. Load the roster through File Management before entering Dynasty, then inspect multiple teams and depth charts. A successful load does not prove that the file is the current season or intended for your mod.

Online search returns no file

Roster Share depends on a compatible file being visible at that moment. Search results can disappear as accounts, uploads, or services change. Switch to the offline route and obtain the latest platform-specific file from the current community release thread. Historical gamertags and PSN IDs should be treated as leads to verify, not permanent service addresses.

The USB drive is not recognized after editing

Return to the backup, safely eject the drive from Windows, and reconnect it to the console. Avoid interrupting the save tool while it is writing. If the original console-created save still works, use it as the base for another replacement rather than editing a damaged copy repeatedly. If the console asks to format the drive again, stop and protect the backup before accepting, because formatting can erase the files you are trying to recover.

The roster loads but Dynasty still shows old data

Load the roster before creating or continuing Dynasty. A Dynasty can retain its own saved player and depth-chart data and may not retroactively adopt every roster change. Verify the roster in the game’s roster-management screen, save it under a new name, and then start a test Dynasty if the release notes recommend one.

How to keep a community roster usable

Maintain separate folders for each platform

Store Xbox 360, PS3, RPCS3, and Revamped downloads in clearly labeled folders. Include the release date and build name in each folder so an older file is not mistaken for the current one. Keep the original download unchanged and perform edits on a working copy.

Keep two backups

Retain the untouched console-created save and a known-good community roster. Never make every backup from the same edited file; if that file is corrupted, you need an earlier clean copy. For Xbox 360, one backup can remain on a separate USB or Windows drive. For PS3 and RPCS3, preserve the corresponding save-data directory before replacing it.

Verify before starting a Dynasty

  1. Load the roster from File Management or the platform’s equivalent import screen.
  2. Check several teams, player names, ratings, and depth charts.
  3. Save the verified roster under a new name.
  4. Only then create or continue a Dynasty.

Recheck time-sensitive details

Gamertags, PSN IDs, download locations, and roster versions can change. Historical instructions remain useful for the menu path, but they cannot guarantee that an old account or link still provides a file in 2026. Use the newest release information for the roster itself while preserving the platform-specific procedure described above.

Quick checklist

  • Identify your platform or modded build.
  • Download only the matching roster format.
  • Back up your existing save.
  • For Xbox 360 offline transfer, format the USB on the console first.
  • Create a roster save through Settings → File Management → Save, with the category set to Roster.
  • Replace that save on Windows with Horizon or Modio as instructed by the release.
  • Complete rehash/resign when required.
  • Safely eject and reconnect the USB.
  • Load through Settings → File Management → Load → Rosters.
  • Inspect teams and depth charts before entering Dynasty.
  • Save a verified copy under a new name and keep the untouched backup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the same roster file on Xbox 360 and PS3?

No. Xbox 360 and PS3 releases use different save formats. Download the file explicitly labeled for your console; RPCS3 and College Football Revamped files are separate targets as well.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do I need a Windows PC to download an Xbox 360 roster?

Only for the offline USB method. Xbox 360 Roster Share can download a visible compatible file in-game, while offline transfers require Windows plus Horizon or Modio as specified by the release.

Why must I create a roster save on the Xbox 360 first?

The console-created save supplies the content structure and device information the console expects. The Windows tool replaces that save’s roster data; it does not reliably create a valid Xbox save from an arbitrary file.

What does rehash and resign mean?

It is the save-tool operation that updates the edited file’s integrity and device-related information. Complete it when the roster instructions require it; otherwise the Xbox 360 may reject the file or call it damaged.

Are vikesfan059 and mjk4life82 still current PS3 identities?

They are historical examples from older releases. Confirm the current PSN identity in the newest roster thread because accounts, links, and uploads can change.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What should I do if the roster loads but the names are wrong?

Check the release date, platform label, game edition, and required mod build. Load the roster through File Management, inspect several teams and depth charts, and verify it before entering Dynasty.

The Bottom Line

Match the roster to the exact platform or mod build, keep an untouched backup, and follow the correct route. Xbox 360 online sharing is quickest when a file is visible; the offline route requires a console-formatted USB, a console-created roster save, Windows with Horizon or Modio, and rehash/resign when instructed. PS3, RPCS3, and College Football Revamped files require their own documented procedures.
