To make an OPPO F35 last longer, first open Settings > Battery and identify what is using the charge. Then reduce unnecessary screen and background activity, and use Power Saving when you need extra runtime. Reserve Super Power Saving Mode for emergencies because it limits the phone to six selected apps.

OPPO says actual results vary with network configuration, software and hardware versions, temperature and other environmental conditions, test conditions, and personal usage habits. Treat the figures as capacity context rather than a target your individual phone must reach. A phone that falls short of a laboratory number is not automatically defective; the useful first step is to see which activity is consuming your charge.
Identify the cause before changing settings
Battery-saving changes work best when they address the largest consumer. A bright display, a video session, a game, mobile data in a weak-signal area, or an app doing frequent background work can each dominate a day’s usage. The Battery screen gives you a way to distinguish those situations instead of applying every restriction at once.
Check Battery usage
- Open Settings.
- Tap Battery.
- Open the battery-usage or usage-details view shown on your ColorOS build.
- Review the apps and activities at the top of the list and note when the drain occurred.
Look for a pattern over at least one normal usage period. If video, gaming, or calls are at the top, the time spent doing those activities is the main explanation. If an app you barely used is high on the list, investigate its background behavior before restricting everything else.

Separate a one-off drain from a recurring problem
- One-off heavy use: A long gaming, video, or video-call session can explain a large drop without any fault.
- Recurring background use: An app that remains high while you do not use it is a candidate for selective restriction.
- Unexpected overnight loss: Check the usage details for an app or activity that ran during that period, then adjust only that item and observe the next night.
- Drain after a software change: Record the ColorOS version shown in About Phone and compare the Battery list before making several changes at once.
Make one change at a time where possible. Otherwise, you cannot tell which setting helped or which one caused a missed notification.
Read the usage list in context
A high percentage beside an app does not by itself prove that the app is faulty. A video app can legitimately lead the list after hours of viewing, and a game can legitimately use substantial power during a long session. Compare the listed activity with what you actually did and with the time of the drain. The more useful warning sign is an app you scarcely opened that repeatedly appears near the top, especially during periods when the phone was idle.
Network configuration matters too. The same task can produce different results on different networks, and OPPO includes network conditions among the reasons its laboratory figures may not match personal results. Record whether the drain happened on mobile data or another connection when you compare different days.
Reduce screen consumption without making the phone uncomfortable
The display is often the most visible source of power use. Lower brightness to the dimmest level that remains comfortable in your lighting. A small reduction maintained all day is more useful than repeatedly forcing the screen extremely dim and then raising it again.
Use a practical brightness routine
- Dim the screen when you move indoors or into a dark room.
- Return to a comfortable level for reading rather than leaving it brighter than necessary.
- When Power Saving is enabled, expect ColorOS to reduce brightness as part of the mode’s battery-saving behavior.
Do not trade safe, readable viewing for a theoretical saving. If you need the normal display behavior for a particular task, leave Power Saving off during that task and enable it afterward.

Match screen use to the task
Online video scrolling, gaming, and video calls are all listed in OPPO’s published endurance tests. If one of those activities dominates your day, reducing the length of that session is a direct way to reduce consumption. You do not need to change every setting: shorten the activity that the Battery screen shows is responsible, then reassess the next usage period.
Control background activity selectively
OPPO’s battery guidance recommends using its optimization controls to find power-consumption issues, restrict background activity for apps that do not need constant updates, and disable auto-launch where appropriate. These controls can reduce work performed while you are not actively using an app.
Choose which apps may run freely
- Open the battery-usage details and identify an app with high background consumption.
- Open that app’s battery or optimization controls from the settings available on your ColorOS version.
- Restrict background activity or auto-launch only when the app does not need immediate updates.
- Use the phone normally and check the Battery list again before changing another app.
Restrictions have a real cost: notifications and background updates can arrive late. Keep messaging, security, navigation, and other time-sensitive apps unrestricted when their alerts matter. A social, shopping, or rarely used app may be a better candidate for tighter limits, but decide based on how you use it rather than its category alone.
When not to restrict an app
- Messaging: Delayed background work can postpone incoming alerts.
- Security: A security app may need to perform scheduled checks.
- Navigation: Navigation and location-related activity can be interrupted if background behavior is constrained.
- Any app with critical alerts: If a delay would cause you to miss an important event, leave its battery behavior relaxed.
If notifications stop arriving promptly after a restriction, undo that restriction for the affected app rather than disabling background activity across the entire phone.
Use Phone Manager and optimization controls carefully
OPPO’s general guidance points to its phone-management and optimization controls as a way to find power-consumption issues. Use them to inspect the problem and apply targeted changes, not as a reason to close or restrict every app indiscriminately. A blanket change can save some background activity while also delaying alerts you rely on. Keep a note of any app you change so you can reverse the setting if its behavior changes.
Use Power Saving for routine extra runtime
Power Saving is the everyday option when you still need normal access to the phone but want to reduce consumption. OPPO describes it as reducing brightness, limiting some background apps, and limiting certain CPU functions. Those measures can extend the current charge, but they also reduce performance or update frequency in ways you may notice.
When to turn it on
- Enable it when you are away from a charger and the remaining percentage must last through the day.
- Use it before a long journey, event, or work period when you know charging will be inconvenient.
- Turn it off when you need unrestricted performance or immediate background updates.
The exact switch label can vary by ColorOS release. Look in Settings > Battery for Power Saving or a similarly named battery mode. You can also use the battery control in Control Center if that tile is available on your build.

Use Super Power Saving Mode only for emergencies
Super Power Saving Mode preserves remaining charge by accepting a much larger loss of convenience. OPPO says it limits use to six selected apps and can scale CPU frequency and adjust screen brightness. Calls, essential communication, or another selected task may remain possible, but the phone is no longer operating as a normal unrestricted smartphone.
ColorOS 16 and newer
- Open Settings.
- Tap Battery.
- Tap Super power saving mode.
- Confirm the mode and choose up to six apps when prompted.
ColorOS 15
- Open Settings > Battery.
- Tap Battery mode.
- Select Super power saving mode and confirm.
ColorOS 13 or 14
- Open Settings > Battery.
- Tap Power saving mode.
- Enable Super power saving mode.
ColorOS 7.2 through 12
- Open Settings > Battery.
- Enable Super power saving mode.
OPPO also documents enabling the mode from Control Center. If your screen does not match these labels, check Settings > About Phone or About Device and follow the path for the installed release. Do not assume every F35 has identical menus just because the model name is the same.

Choose the least restrictive mode that meets the situation. If you need maps, authentication, messaging, or other essential functions, select those apps before confirming Super Power Saving. If you need broad access and only a modest extension, ordinary Power Saving is the better fit.
Protect long-term battery health
Stretching today’s charge and preserving capacity over years are different goals. Screen and background settings reduce current consumption. Charging habits and temperature mainly affect long-term battery health.
Use the 20–80% guideline
OPPO’s global battery guidance recommends charging between 20% and 80% to minimize battery damage and avoiding complete discharge. This is a practical longevity guideline, not a promise that every charge outside that range immediately harms the phone. If you need a full charge before travel, use one; the point is to avoid making very low or very high states your routine whenever your schedule allows.
Do not claim that every F35 software build has a selectable charge limit. Only use such a feature if it is visibly offered in your own Battery settings.
Avoid temperature extremes
OPPO advises avoiding very hot or very cold conditions. Keep the phone out of direct heat and do not treat a hot handset as a normal charging state. If it becomes unusually warm during charging or heavy use, stop the demanding activity and let it return to a normal temperature before continuing.

OPPO warns that some third-party chargers may use improper voltage ranges. Use a charger and cable that are compatible with the phone’s charging system; OPPO’s SUPERVOOC chargers are designed for OPPO devices. Compatibility and safety are the reason for this advice, not a guarantee that purchasing a particular charger will increase the time between charges.

What to do when the F35 still drains quickly

- Review conditions: Consider heat, cold, charging equipment, and network conditions as possible contributors to the usage pattern shown by Battery.
If the same app remains the leading consumer after selective restrictions, remove the restriction if it breaks an essential function and keep documenting the usage details. That record is more useful for support than a general statement that the battery is “bad.” Include the model, ColorOS version, approximate time of the drain, top-listed app or activity, and whether the phone was hot or on a particular network.
When a power bank is the practical answer
A USB-C power bank is an option when you are away from a charger. It adds energy externally; it does not correct abnormal drain. Choose compatible equipment and treat it as a way to finish a journey or work period, not as a substitute for finding an app that is consuming power unexpectedly. No particular capacity, brand, model, or price is required by OPPO’s guidance, so buy only what suits your travel needs and charging compatibility.

Should I always charge only to 80%?
