As of October 9, 2026, there is no confirmed GTA 6 song-identification button, radio-history screen, or dependable in-game recognition workflow. The reliable method available now is to compare what you heard with Rockstar Games’ official music page, while keeping three categories separate: an in-game radio song, a song released on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, and music used in a trailer or presentation. Those categories overlap only when Rockstar explicitly confirms that they do.
GTA VI has not launched at the time of the latest available information, so exact controls and post-launch lookup features remain unknown. You can still identify officially previewed music and document trailer tracks without labeling either one as a confirmed radio selection.

What “identify a GTA 6 radio song” means right now
There are two different questions hidden in most searches:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- What song did I hear in an official GTA VI video? That can often be answered from published trailer and presentation track lists.
- What song is playing on a station while I am driving in the game? That cannot yet be answered with a confirmed built-in tool because GTA VI is unreleased and the reviewed official material does not document a song button, listening history, or a supported recognition app.
Rockstar’s official music page currently offers previews of “hand-picked stations from the Leonida airwaves” and singles from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. It presents selected examples, not a complete station roster or complete tracklist. Treat every identification according to where the audio was heard and who confirmed it.

The dependable identification workflow before launch
1. Record the exact place where you heard the music
Write down whether the audio came from Trailer 1, Trailer 2, Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, a Rockstar music-page preview, an album preview, or an actual game session after release. This first note prevents the most common error: turning “used in a video” or “listed on the album” into “confirmed radio song.”
2. Start with Rockstar’s official music page
Use the page as the primary check for station names, station formats, presenters, and the six album singles Rockstar has identified. Listen to its available previews and compare the vocal, lyric fragment, instrumentation, and era with what you remember. The page’s description of a broad range from classic rock to talk radio is promotional language, not a station count.
3. Match the sound to a named station preview, not to a guessed station
A preview can establish that Rockstar is showcasing a station and its style. It does not establish that every song in that preview will be playable in the final game, nor does it reveal the complete song list. Use the station information as a narrowing clue.

If you caught a lyric, search that phrase with the artist or genre you suspect. This is an ordinary music-identification tactic, not a documented GTA VI feature. The available sources do not establish that Rockstar provides lyric search or that a third-party recognition app reliably recognizes game audio, so do not present a match as official until a source confirms the placement.

5. Check the placement category
Once you have a likely title, label it precisely:
- Radio confirmation: Rockstar or another direct, authoritative source explicitly says the song plays on an in-game station.
- Album confirmation: Rockstar lists the song among the 34 original tracks on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.
- Video confirmation: The song is audibly present in a trailer or presentation.
- Unverified report or clue: A fan or secondary source suggests a connection without direct confirmation.
6. Preserve the evidence
Save the video title and timestamp, the page or release where you heard the track, and the wording used by the confirming source. If a later station list changes the status, you will know whether your original observation was a video appearance, an album listing, or an actual radio placement.
Stations Rockstar has previewed
Rockstar currently names six station previews. The list below is not a complete GTA VI station roster; it is the set of previews identified on the official music page at the time of the latest information.
| Station | Format or musical focus | Presenters named by Rockstar | What the preview proves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cocoteo | Modern Latin | El Martillo and La Gata | Rockstar is previewing a station with this identity; a complete tracklist is not stated. |
| Back Country | Renegade country | MW and Delta Dawne | The station format and presenters are previewed; individual radio placements remain unlisted. |
| Afro Bank FM | Amapiano, African classics, and 3-step | Burna and Palmsy | The named musical scope is confirmed as a preview, not as a full playlist. |
| The Chamber | Metal | DJ Kerry and DJ Tom | The station and hosts are previewed; no complete song roster is supplied. |
| Flash FM | Pop; described as a Vice City institution | Robyn and Alex | Rockstar identifies the station and its hosts, but does not publish every song it will carry. |
| Dirty South Classics | Regional rap and hip-hop classics | Trick and Trina | The format and presenters are official preview information, not proof for any particular track. |
Do not infer that these are the only stations. Rockstar calls them hand-picked previews, and the available page does not provide a final station count.

Album songs: confirmed releases, not automatically radio songs
Rockstar describes Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album as a 34-original-track release and lists six debut singles. The page gives a November 19 release date and links digital presave and vinyl or CD preorder options. The album is a separate physical and digital music product from the game.

| Single | Artists credited by Rockstar | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| “That’s It” | Yung Lean featuring Future and Metro Boomin’ | Listed as a debut single from the album. |
| “RHYNO” | Travis Scott | Listed as a debut single from the album. |
| “Sexy Magic” | CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Pink Pantheress, Fred again.., and Etienne de Crécy | Listed as a debut single from the album. |
| “Last Thing You Need” | Morgan Wallen | Listed as a debut single from the album. |
| “Macacoa 2000” | Rauw Alejandro | Listed as a debut single from the album. |
| “Bright Lights, Big City” | Keith Richards | Listed as a debut single from the album. |
None of those six songs should be called a GTA VI radio song solely because it appears on the album. The independent GTA BOOM tracker likewise distinguishes confirmed album tracks from radio evidence and notes that Rockstar has not said whether the singles will play on a station. If you identify one while listening to an album preview, report it as an album track unless a separate announcement confirms radio placement.
Music heard in trailers and presentations
GTA BOOM’s maintained tracker records 20 licensed songs heard across Rockstar’s first two trailers and Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. These are confirmed for the promotional videos in which they appear. Trailer or presentation use does not, by itself, establish that a song will play on an in-game radio station.

How to verify a song after GTA VI launches
After release, the practical process will depend on the game’s final interface. No official source currently documents the relevant controls, so use the following as a verification plan rather than as promised button instructions.
- Pause or safely stop the vehicle before checking anything. Avoid treating an unconfirmed pause-menu label as a song-history feature.
- Look for an explicit radio or audio-history entry. If Rockstar adds one, record the exact station, artist, title, and whether the display identifies the current song or only the station.
- Check the station identity. Compare the station name and format with Rockstar’s published previews. A matching format narrows the search but does not prove a particular song.
- Capture a short, lawful personal note. Write a lyric fragment, unusual hook, artist name, or timestamp while the song is playing. Do not assume that a phone-recognition app will work through vehicle speakers, dialogue, effects, or streaming compression.
- Confirm against an authoritative listing. Prefer an in-game display or a direct Rockstar announcement. A secondary tracker can organize evidence, but label its entries as reported, a clue, or video use when that is all it establishes.
- Record changes by edition or update. Radio catalogs can be affected by licensing, regional availability, or later updates. Keep the platform, region, and date with your note if Rockstar publishes those qualifications.
Until Rockstar documents a feature, “I heard this while driving” is an observation, not proof that the title is in the final radio catalog. A reliable post-launch guide will need to identify the exact menu path and controls from the released game rather than infer them from trailers.
How to read evidence without overclaiming
| Evidence label | What it supports | What it does not support |
|---|---|---|
| Official album track | Rockstar has included the song on the 34-track album release. | That the song plays on an in-game station. |
| Confirmed station | Rockstar has identified a station, its format, or its presenters. | A complete playlist or a specific song’s placement. |
| Official video use | The song is audible in a named trailer or presentation. | That the same recording is available on GTA VI radio. |
| Radio clue | An observable sign, such as a station logo or advertisement, suggests a connection. | That the station is playable or that a track is confirmed. |
| Direct artist statement | An artist has publicly claimed a GTA VI connection. | The exact in-game station unless the statement specifies it. |
| Reported or unverified | A secondary source has collected a claim that still needs confirmation. | Official status. |
This vocabulary matters because promotional music and game-radio licensing are separate decisions. Use the narrowest label that the evidence supports.
What is still unknown
The available information does not establish any of the following:
- A built-in “identify this song” command or button.
- A radio-history list that records songs played during a session.
- A guaranteed workflow using a third-party recognition app against GTA VI audio.
- The complete station roster or the complete tracklist for any station.
- Whether any of the six album singles will be used on in-game radio.
- Whether every song heard in an official video will appear in the released game.
These are open questions, not features to promise in a pre-launch guide. When Rockstar publishes a final interface or tracklist, update the relevant evidence label rather than rewriting a trailer appearance as an earlier radio confirmation.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
A quick decision guide
- Heard it in a trailer? Identify the song from the trailer’s documented music and call it trailer music.
- Heard it on Rockstar’s album page? Call it an album single unless radio placement is separately confirmed.
- Recognize only the genre or station host? Use the six station previews to narrow the search, but wait for a track-level source.
- Heard it in the released game? Look for an explicit in-game title display first; otherwise note lyrics and station details, then verify against an authoritative list.
- Found a fan-maintained list? Check whether each entry is marked as album, radio, video, clue, artist statement, or unverified before repeating it as fact.
The safest answer to “what song is playing on the GTA 6 radio?” is therefore conditional: identify the audio’s source, compare it with Rockstar’s official previews and releases, and use the phrase “confirmed radio song” only when a source explicitly establishes that placement.
