The quickest reliable check is to compare the cue you remember with the three pieces officially named for The Blood of Dawnwalker: “Desperate Measures” by Piotr Musiał, “Ballad of Night and Day” by Mikolai Stroinski, and “Battle of Retribution” by Nikola Kołodziejczyk. If you own Eclipse Edition Content, Steam provides MP3 and WAV soundtrack files in your Steam Library. If none of those tracks matches, the available official pages do not publish a complete cue list, so identify the scene, location, timestamp, lyrics and (ideally) a short recording instead of guessing from mood alone.
This guide separates confirmed track information from practical ways to investigate an unidentified in-game cue. Streaming availability can vary by country and service: Steam announced Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music and YouTube Music as destinations, but that announcement does not prove that every service currently carries the complete score.
Start with the three officially named tracks
Bandai Namco Europe’s January 9, 2026 music bulletin names three pieces and links to their music videos. These are confirmed titles, not a complete listing of every piece heard during the game.

Open the Bandai Namco Europe music bulletin and use its embedded music videos as your first comparison set. Write down whether the remembered melody, rhythm, vocal passage or instrumentation actually occurs in one of those recordings. A similar atmosphere is not enough to establish an identification.

Understand what the official soundtrack release includes
The official game page describes The Blood of Dawnwalker as an open-world dark fantasy action RPG set in 14th-century Europe. Its edition information lists a “Digital Soundtrack” with the Eclipse Edition; the Standard Edition listing does not list that item. Steam’s September 29, 2026 announcement says Eclipse Edition Content owners can access downloadable soundtrack files in their Steam Library and that the files are available in MP3 and WAV formats.

The announcement also says the soundtrack cannot be bought separately. Purchasing the game is therefore not a guaranteed way to obtain a missing cue; the relevant entitlement is the Eclipse Edition Content described by the publisher and Steam.

Step-by-step: check the Steam files
- Confirm the entitlement. Check that the Steam account you are using owns the Eclipse Edition Content. The official announcement limits the soundtrack-library access to that entitlement.
- Open Steam Library. Use the Library view in the Steam client or web interface associated with that account. The exact surrounding layout can change as Steam updates its interface, but the release notice identifies the destination as a Library “Soundtracks” subfolder.
- Open the game’s Soundtracks subfolder. Select the soundtrack entry associated with The Blood of Dawnwalker. If the game page itself is visible but no soundtrack entry appears, check that you are signed into the account that owns the Eclipse content before treating the files as unavailable.
- Download both formats when possible. Steam specifies MP3 and WAV. WAV is useful for close listening and waveform inspection because it is an uncompressed source format; MP3 is smaller and convenient for ordinary playback.
- Inspect names and metadata, then listen. Search filenames for the three confirmed titles first. If a file has a generic or unfamiliar name, play it from the beginning and compare the melody, recurring motif and transition point with your memory. Do not infer a title solely from a filename that is not one of the officially named pieces.
If the Soundtracks subfolder is still absent after confirming the entitlement, restart Steam, sign out and back in, and check the Library again. Those are practical client checks, not a statement that Steam has documented a universal fix. If the entitlement remains missing, use Steam’s account or purchase support rather than downloading an unofficial copy.

Compare a remembered cue without relying on guesswork
Separate musical evidence from scene memory
Scene memory is valuable for narrowing a search, but it does not identify a track by itself. A cave, epilogue, village, boss encounter or travel sequence may contain a recurring theme, a short transition, environmental ambience or a section of a longer piece. Record exactly what you remember: whether the music began before or after a conversation, whether it continued through gameplay, whether it had a voice or lyrics, and whether it ended abruptly when the scene changed.
Use a repeatable listening pass
- Listen to the remembered clip, if you have one, without looking at filenames.
- Play each confirmed track from the start and note the first unmistakable melody, pulse or sound color.
- Replay the most similar passage while switching between the reference clip and the candidate. A shared mood is weak evidence; a matching melodic phrase or arrangement is much stronger.
- Check the ending and transition. A cue that matches only a few seconds may be an edit or an in-game variation rather than the complete album track.
- Record the exact candidate title and composer before sharing your conclusion.
Do not treat the words “battle,” “ballad” or “desperate” as scene labels. They are titles, and the official bulletin does not say that each one is tied to a particular quest, location or combat state.
What to do when none of the three tracks matches
The January 9 bulletin does not provide a complete soundtrack track list, and the Steam release announcement does not turn the three named pieces into a full catalog. Consequently, a cue that fails all three comparisons cannot be assigned a title from the official information currently available. It may be an additional score cue, a short transition, an arrangement used only in the game, or a recording that has not been publicly titled in the sources above. Those are possibilities, not confirmed identities.

- Scene: the quest, cutscene, combat encounter or exploration moment.
- Location: region, settlement, interior, cave or other identifiable setting.
- Story position: approximate chapter, act or whether it occurred during the ending or epilogue.
- Timestamp: the time on a playthrough video, stream or your own recording.
- Musical description: instrumental or vocal, language if any, prominent rhythm, solo instrument, choir or repeated motif.
- Audio sample: a short clip you recorded yourself, shared only where you have the right to share it.
- Spoiler status: mark plot details clearly before posting.
A Reddit post illustrates why this level of detail matters: a player described looking for a song “during the epilogue, in the cave” and supplied an approximate timestamp. That wording helps other players search, but the post does not establish the cue’s identity. Treat it as an example of useful evidence, not as confirmation. Check streaming services, but verify the current catalog
Steam’s September 29 announcement names Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music and YouTube Music as destinations announced for the following week. Because the announcement does not individually verify current catalog completeness or regional availability, search each service’s official listing rather than assuming that a search result is the full score.

If a service shows only one or two singles, that is not proof that the missing cue was never released. Conversely, finding an upload with a scene-specific title is not proof that the title is official. Use the Steam files or the publisher’s named tracks as your strongest references.
Use the score’s background as context, not as an identification shortcut
The publisher says the score draws on the game’s story and folk aesthetics associated with 14th-century Europe and people living at the foot of the mountains. That context can help you describe what you heard, but it cannot distinguish one unnamed cue from another. Several pieces can share a regional color, similar instruments or an intentionally restrained atmosphere.

Lead Composer Nikola Kołodziejczyk explains the creative goal this way: “We wanted the music to be grounded, to show that we as Coen are not a superhero, but a protagonist, with real challenges – fighting for his family – but also exploring his newly found abilities and their limits.” He also says that the stakes were intended to feel personal, informing “the instrumentation choices, the sound and the flow of the piece,” with an “intimate, detailed character of the instruments” and an emphasis on authentic performance. These comments explain why a cue may feel character-focused rather than like a conventional heroic theme; they do not name additional tracks or map music to scenes.
When describing an unknown recording, use observable details instead of labels such as “the vampire song” or “the cave theme.” For example, note whether the pulse is slow or driving, whether a bowed instrument enters after the opening, whether a voice is present, and how long the passage lasts. Concrete observations make a future identification possible without turning an interpretation into a false title.

The Steam soundtrack folder is missing
First verify the edition and account. The announced access is for Eclipse Edition Content owners, while the official game page lists the Digital Soundtrack with that edition. If the account is correct, restart Steam and look again in the Library’s Soundtracks area. If the entitlement is not recognized, resolve the account or purchase issue through Steam support; do not assume that a Standard Edition listing includes the digital soundtrack.
A candidate title matches the mood but not the melody
Reject it until a musical passage matches. Titles and scene descriptions are not substitutes for audio evidence, and the publisher’s three named tracks are not presented as a complete list.

The cue is in a video but not in the album files
Note the video URL, timestamp and whether the music is continuous or begins during a transition. A short in-game edit may not appear as a separately titled file. Without a published track list, describe the cue as unidentified rather than assigning the nearest album title.
A streaming search returns several versions
Prefer the listing tied to the publisher, composer or official artist page. Compare duration, composer credit and album title, and remember that regional catalogs can differ. An unofficial upload can preserve the sound while carrying an invented or scene-based title.
The scene is from the epilogue or contains spoilers
Mark the post as a spoiler, state the location and timestamp, and avoid revealing plot outcomes in the title. The cave-and-epilogue example from Reddit demonstrates that a precise location and approximate time are more useful than a broad request for “the sad song.”
Copyable request for a community identification post
Use a compact, evidence-rich format so other listeners can check the same moment:

A decision path for identifying the cue
- Does it match one of the three named pieces? If yes, verify the melody or passage and record the composer credit from the bulletin.
- Do you own Eclipse Edition Content? If yes, inspect the Steam Library Soundtracks subfolder and compare the MP3 or WAV files.
- Is the track listed on a streaming service? Search the four services named by Steam, then check the official artist or publisher listing and your region’s catalog.
- Is there still no match? Treat the cue as unidentified, capture the scene, location, timestamp, musical details and a permissible clip, and ask with spoiler labeling.
- Has someone supplied a title? Confirm it with an official track page, composer credit or Steam file before presenting it as fact.
This process gives you a defensible answer even when the cue is not in the publicly named set. It distinguishes a confirmed title from a plausible lead and avoids claiming that the official soundtrack is incomplete merely because one remembered in-game variation is absent.
