To host an All the Mods 11 (ATM11) server, download the matching ServerFiles-0.11.1-beta.zip for the Minecraft 26.1.2 release, install the Java version required by that pack, run the supplied server script once, accept the EULA, set an appropriate memory limit, and then test local and remote connections. The current ATM11 CurseForge listing describes the pack as NeoForge for Minecraft 26.1.x, with All the Mods 11-0.11.1-beta.zip and a matching server archive. Because the pack is identified as a “Super early alpha for 26.1.2,” check the listing again immediately before installing and make sure every player uses exactly the same release.
What you need before installing ATM11
ATM11 is a large modpack, not a small vanilla server. Plan for a dedicated server directory, enough memory for the operating system and Java, reliable storage, and a way for your players to reach the machine. Decide first whether the server will run on a computer you control or on a managed game-hosting service.

- A compatible Java installation: the required Java version follows the pack’s Minecraft version. Do not assume that the Java version used by another Minecraft installation is correct.
- Storage for the archive, extracted files, world, logs, backups, and future updates. Keep the server outside temporary download folders.
- Administrative access: you need permission to install Java, open the server’s local firewall rule, and run a script.
- A backup plan: world data can be damaged by failed updates, power loss, or incompatible mods. Decide where backup copies will live before inviting players.
Local computer or managed hosting?
Both approaches run the same dedicated-server files. The difference is who supplies the hardware, network connection, backups, and day-to-day maintenance.

Choose local hosting when you want maximum control and already have a computer that can remain online. Choose managed hosting when a persistent public endpoint and simpler operations are worth the recurring cost. ATM11 is in an early alpha/beta-era state, so a host’s one-click catalog may lag behind the current CurseForge release; manual upload support is important.

Check the current ATM11 release
The CurseForge ATM11 project page is the authoritative place to identify the release you should install. At the time covered by this guide, it lists:
- Pack: All the Mods 11-0.11.1-beta.zip
- Server archive: ServerFiles-0.11.1-beta.zip
- Minecraft: 26.1.2 (within the 26.1.x line)
- Mod loader: NeoForge
The listing calls this release a “Super early alpha for 26.1.2.” Treat that wording as a warning that filenames, loader builds, configs, and installation behavior can change quickly. Do not combine a newer client with an older server, or a server archive from one ATM11 release with a client from another. Have every player record the same pack version in their launcher before connecting.
Memory, CPU, and storage planning
All The Mods guidance says a PC should have at least 16 GB of system RAM for the best playable experience, and that most packs need 8–12 GB allocated to Minecraft. That is system memory, not a promise that every ATM11 world needs exactly the same heap size. A server with several explorers, heavy automation, or frequent new-chunk generation can need more headroom than a quiet server with a few players.
- Leave memory for the operating system, Java overhead, file caching, and other services.
- If you host and play on the same computer, leave additional RAM for the client. Do not assign all installed memory to
-Xmx. - Fast storage helps world saves and chunk generation. Keep substantial free space for the world, logs, and at least one rollback copy.
- CPU performance matters when many entities, machines, scripts, or new chunks are active. ATM11-specific player-count benchmarks are not published in the available official material, so do not advertise a fixed player limit.
- Size upward for more simultaneous players, long-distance exploration, chunk loading, and large automation builds. Watch the server console and tick performance after adding players rather than guessing from a theoretical number.
Download and extract the official server files
- Open the ATM11 CurseForge project and select the exact release you intend to run.
- Record the listed Minecraft and NeoForge versions and the main pack filename.
- Open that file entry’s Additional Files section and download the matching ServerFiles-0.11.1-beta.zip. Do not download a server archive from a different release.
- Create a dedicated folder such as
ATM11-Serveron a local drive. Avoid cloud-sync folders and locations where a security product may quarantine scripts. - Extract the entire archive into that folder. Keep the directory structure intact; do not move individual mod or library files into a separate location.
The server archive is the starting point for a dedicated installation. The client-side pack and the server files are related but are not interchangeable.
Install ATM11 locally on Windows
1. Verify which Java will run
Open Command Prompt in the server directory and run:
java -version
The official All The Mods guidance warns that this command can select an unintended Java installation when several versions are present. If the output does not match the Java requirement for the ATM11 Minecraft version, remove unused Java versions, select the correct Java alternative, or edit the start script to use the full path to the intended executable. A version mismatch commonly produces an immediate launch error or causes the loader to stop before the server finishes starting.

2. Run the server script once
Double-click startserver.bat, or run it from Command Prompt. The first launch creates files and may take longer than later starts while libraries and configuration are prepared. Leave the window open and let the process finish its initial work. Closing it partway through can leave an incomplete setup.
3. Accept the Minecraft EULA
After the first run stops or reports that the EULA must be accepted, open the generated eula.txt. Change:
eula=false
to:
eula=true
Save the file, then run startserver.bat again.
4. Wait for a completed startup
Use the console output as the readiness check. The server must finish loading the dedicated server, NeoForge, and the ATM11 mods before anyone attempts to join. A window that remains open but repeatedly reports an exception is not a healthy startup.
Install ATM11 locally on Linux
1. Make the script executable
From the extracted directory, run:
chmod +x ./startserver.sh
2. Check Java and launch
Confirm the selected runtime with java -version, then start the server:

If multiple Java packages are installed, configure the system’s Java alternative or edit the script to call the required Java binary explicitly. Keep the process attached to a terminal session while completing the first run, or use an established service manager or terminal multiplexer only after the basic installation works.
3. Accept the EULA and restart
Edit eula.txt exactly as on Windows, change eula=false to eula=true, save it, and run ./startserver.sh again. Wait for the completed startup message before testing a client.

Set memory and server configuration
Adjust the Java heap
When the extracted server includes usr_jvm_args.txt, edit the -Xms and -Xmx values there. -Xms is the starting heap; -Xmx is the maximum heap Java may use. Allocate only a portion of system RAM and leave room for the operating system and, if applicable, the game client. The 8–12 GB guidance is a starting range for modpacks, not an ATM11-specific benchmark or a guarantee of a particular player count.
Change only settings you understand
server.properties contains gameplay and networking settings, while ATM11 configuration files control individual mods. Make one intentional change at a time and keep a copy of the original. The official guide specifically warns that changing server-ip is usually unnecessary and can prevent the server from starting. Leave it blank unless you have a clear, tested reason to bind the process to a particular local interface.
Keep an administrator account secure
Once connected, use the server console or in-game operator command to grant administrative rights only to trusted accounts. Do not publish console credentials, FTP passwords, or backup archives in a shared chat.
Connect locally and let friends join
Test from the host computer
Start the server fully, launch the matching ATM11 client, and connect using the host machine’s local address or the address presented by the launcher/server setup. A local connection verifies that Java, NeoForge, the mod list, and the world can load before you troubleshoot the router.
Test from another device on the same network
Use the host’s private network address. If this fails, check the operating system firewall, confirm that the server process is listening, and verify that both computers are on the intended network. Do not expose the server publicly until local access works.
Provide remote access carefully
Friends outside your home network need a reachable public address or hostname and a router/firewall rule that forwards the Minecraft port configured by the server. The official ATM guide does not prescribe one universal port-forwarding recipe, because router interfaces and network arrangements differ. Expose only the required port, restrict administrative interfaces, and check whether your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT or blocks inbound connections. If you cannot accept inbound connections, a managed host or a suitable private networking solution may be simpler.

Never change server-ip merely because remote players need access; that setting controls local binding, not the public address players type. Give players the same ATM11 release and loader version as the server.
Use a managed host instead
A managed provider may offer an ATM11 or NeoForge installer. Before paying, ask the provider to confirm support for the exact ATM11 release, Minecraft 26.1.2/26.1.x compatibility, the required Java version, and the specific NeoForge build shown on the CurseForge page.
When one-click installation is available
- Select the exact ATM11 release rather than a similarly named or older pack.
- Confirm the panel installs the matching server files, not only a client modpack.
- Set the memory and CPU allocation appropriate for your group and leave room for the operating system services included by the provider.
- Start once, accept the EULA in the panel or generated file, and wait for a clean startup.
- Use the provider’s console to test a connection before importing a world or inviting everyone.
When manual upload is required
The official server guidance says to create a compatible NeoForge server and upload the extracted Server Files through FTP/SFTP or the provider’s file manager. Upload the complete extracted structure, preserve filenames and permissions, and use the host’s documented startup command. Confirm that you can download the world, edit configs, inspect logs, and restore a backup before treating the service as production-ready.
Early ATM11 releases can appear on hosting panels later than they appear on CurseForge. A provider that supports generic NeoForge but refuses manual files may not be suitable for this pack.
Update ATM11 without losing the world
Do not update a live world in place without a rollback copy. Modpack updates can change registries, recipes, world generation, and configuration formats.
- Tell players to stop joining and shut down the server cleanly.
- Make a complete copy of the server directory, especially the
worldfolder. Store at least one copy outside the server machine. - Download the new release’s matching Server Files archive and verify its Minecraft, NeoForge, and ATM11 versions.
- Extract the new files into a new directory when possible. This makes comparison and rollback safer than overwriting the only working installation.
- Move or preserve the existing
world,server.properties,eula.txt, JourneyMap data when present, and intentional custom configuration. - Replace pack-managed folders such as
mods,config,defaultconfigs, andkubejsas appropriate for the new release. Do not blindly copy old files over new pack-managed files. - Start the new directory and watch the entire log for missing mods, registry errors, or world-conversion warnings.
- Join with one test client, inspect important bases and dimensions, and keep the rollback copy until players have connected successfully.
If the new version fails, stop it, restore the previous directory and world copy, and do not let clients continue writing to a partially migrated world.

Backups and routine operation
- Stop the server cleanly before copying a world unless your backup system is designed for live snapshots.
- Keep multiple generations rather than overwriting one backup. Test that an archive can actually be extracted.
- Back up before every pack update, major configuration change, dimension reset, or large automation project.
- Monitor disk space and log growth. A full disk can prevent world saves and future starts.
- Record the installed ATM11 version, Java version, memory settings, custom configs, and operator accounts in an administrator note.
- Schedule restarts during quiet periods if the server becomes sluggish after long sessions, but investigate errors instead of relying on restarts to hide them.
Troubleshooting common failures
The script closes immediately
Run it from a terminal so the error remains visible. Check java -version, confirm that the correct Java executable is selected, verify that the archive was fully extracted, and make sure you are running the supplied script from the server directory.
The server says the EULA is not accepted
Stop the process, open the generated eula.txt, change the value to eula=true, save it, and start again. Editing a different copy of the file will not affect the active directory.

Compare the client’s ATM11 release, Minecraft version, NeoForge version, and launcher profile with the server’s recorded values. Reinstall the matching client release rather than adding random individual mods to make the lists appear similar.
The server runs out of memory or becomes unresponsive
Check the actual -Xmx value, reduce competing applications, leave operating-system headroom, and inspect what players were doing when the problem occurred. More memory cannot correct every CPU, disk, or mod interaction problem; gather the relevant log before changing several settings at once.
Local connections work but remote connections fail
Verify the host firewall rule, router forwarding rule, configured listening port, and whether the internet connection has a publicly reachable address. A carrier-grade NAT arrangement may prevent inbound forwarding. Do not expose additional ports or alter server-ip without understanding the network topology.
An update will not start
Return to the backup directory, read the first meaningful error in the log, and compare the new archive’s loader and Minecraft versions with the client. If the world was opened by the new version, restore the pre-update world rather than repeatedly retrying against the same damaged copy.
Practical launch checklist
- Every player has the same ATM11 release and Minecraft/NeoForge versions.
- The server uses the Java version required by that release, verified with an explicit runtime path when necessary.
- The first run completed,
eula=trueis saved, and the startup log reaches a ready state. - Memory leaves room for the operating system and any local client.
server-ipremains unchanged unless a deliberate interface-binding configuration requires it.- Local and same-network connections work before remote access is attempted.
- The firewall/router exposes only the needed Minecraft port.
- A tested world backup exists before players begin building.
- A rollback copy is retained for every ATM11 update.
How to choose a sensible first configuration
For a small group, begin with the official server files, a conservative 8–12 GB heap within the limits of your machine or hosting plan, and no unnecessary configuration changes. Add players gradually while watching memory use, CPU load, disk activity, and server logs. Increase resources only when observation shows a bottleneck and the machine has headroom. This approach is safer than assigning all RAM at launch or promising a player count that has not been measured for your particular world and hardware.
