Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
To host Tensura Evolutions, deploy its official dedicated-server pack for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, run it with Java 21, start with about 6 GB of RAM, accept the EULA, and make the server reachable on port 25565. Every player must install the identical Tensura Evolutions release as the server.
The current files identified for this setup are client release 1.0.69.9 (September 7, 2026) and server archive Serverpack_version_1.0.69.9.v2.zip (September 11, 2026). The server archive is listed at 614.0 MB.

What you need before downloading
- A computer or rented server that can run Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge and Java 21.
- The official Tensura Evolutions server pack, not only the client modpack archive.
- At least 6 GB of memory assigned to the Minecraft process as a starting point. Actual needs vary with player count, exploration, loaded chunks and other settings.
- Storage for the 614.0 MB archive, the extracted files, Java runtime files, world data, logs and backups.
- Administrative access to the machine and, for Internet play, permission to change its firewall or router rules.
Tensura Evolutions is a Membrane modpack for Minecraft 1.21.1 using NeoForge. Its CurseForge categories include adventure/RPG, combat/PvP, multiplayer, magic and quests, so a normal unmodded Minecraft server or a Forge installation for another Minecraft version will not be compatible.
Choose the exact files
Version matching is the most important compatibility rule. The server and every client should use the same pack release, Minecraft version and mod-loader family.

| Component | Required value for the current release | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Client pack | Tensura Evolutions 1.0.69.9 | Players need the same mods and configuration expected by the server. |
| Dedicated server archive | Serverpack_version_1.0.69.9.v2.zip | Contains the server-side files prepared for this release. |
| Minecraft | 1.21.1 | The pack is built for this game version. |
| Mod loader | NeoForge | The current pack deployment uses NeoForge rather than vanilla, Fabric or an unrelated Forge build. |
| Java | Java 21 | The deployment guidance for this pack identifies Java 21 as the runtime. |
Download the server archive from the official Tensura Evolutions files page and keep a copy of the filename. Do not substitute a similarly named archive, an older server pack or a client-only ZIP. If the client launcher offers a newer or older release than the server archive, install the server’s exact release on all clients instead of mixing versions.
Install the server on your own computer or VPS
1. Create a clean server directory
Make a new directory dedicated to this server, such as Tensura-Evolutions-Server. A clean directory prevents old mods, configs and world files from changing the behavior of the new release. Keep the downloaded ZIP outside the directory until you are ready to extract it, then extract all of its contents into the empty folder.
Do not merge files from a previous pack release into the new one. Preserve an old installation as a backup instead. If the pack author later publishes a migration procedure, follow that procedure rather than copying files selectively.
2. Install Java 21 and verify that the server will use it
Install a 64-bit Java 21 runtime on the host. Multiple Java versions can coexist, so verify the version used by the server’s start script rather than assuming the operating system’s default is correct. A Java 17 or Java 8 process may start incorrectly, fail during mod loading or produce misleading errors even when Java 21 is installed elsewhere.

The server pack’s included start script or instructions should be the source of truth for launching NeoForge. If the script points to a specific Java executable, update that path to your Java 21 installation. Avoid changing mod files to work around a runtime-version error.
3. Start once to generate the initial files
- Run the included start script from the server directory.
- Let NeoForge create its initial configuration, libraries, logs and world-related files.
- When the process stops because the EULA has not been accepted, close the server cleanly rather than repeatedly restarting it.
- Open the generated
eula.txt, read Mojang’s EULA, and changeeula=falsetoeula=trueonly if you agree to it.
The exact script filename can vary with the server-pack release and operating system. Use the file supplied in the archive instead of inventing a replacement command; that script normally carries the NeoForge class path and the pack’s required launch arguments.

4. Set memory in the launch configuration
The cited 2026 deployment guidance uses 6 GB of RAM as a baseline for this modpack. Treat that as a starting allocation, not a guaranteed requirement or a recommendation for every group. The host also needs memory for the operating system, Java overhead and other services, so do not assign all installed RAM to Minecraft.
Set the memory values in the supplied launch script or the server panel’s Java-arguments field. Use the same unit and syntax already present in that file. After changing memory, restart the server and watch the console for successful initialization; a low-memory crash, long garbage-collection pauses or repeated tick-delay warnings indicate that the allocation or workload needs attention.

5. Complete the first startup
Start the server again after accepting the EULA. The first run can take longer while NeoForge prepares libraries and the modpack creates its world. Wait for the console’s normal ready message before connecting. Stop the server using its console stop command, not by killing the process, so world data and configuration changes are flushed safely.
Make the server reachable
Local-network play
For players on the same home network, give them the host’s local IP address and the server port. Confirm that the operating-system firewall allows the Java/NeoForge server process. A local connection does not require exposing the server to the public Internet.
Internet play from a home connection
- Assign the host computer a stable local address, either with a static network configuration or a DHCP reservation.
- Allow the Minecraft server through the host firewall.
- Forward the conventional Minecraft port 25565 on the router to the host’s local address and the same port.
- Give friends your public IP address (and port only if you use a non-default port).
- Test from a network outside your home, such as a phone hotspot. Testing only from inside the same network can produce misleading results because some routers do not support loopback connections.
Do not publish your public IP in a public forum. If your Internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, inbound port forwarding may not work; in that case, use a host that provides an externally reachable address or another network solution permitted by your community’s rules.
Firewall and port checks
- If the console says the server is running but nobody can connect, check the host firewall first.
- If local players can join but remote players cannot, check router forwarding, the public address and whether the provider blocks inbound connections.
- If the server listens on a custom port, forward and share that exact port instead of 25565.
- Never expose unrelated administrative ports just to make Minecraft connectivity work.
Prepare players and clients
Every player should install Tensura Evolutions 1.0.69.9 for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge. The client and server must agree on the mod list, mod versions and pack configuration. A player using vanilla Minecraft, the wrong loader, a different Minecraft version or another Tensura release will normally be rejected during the handshake or encounter missing-content errors.

- Cross platform play for up to five players between Pocket Edition and Windows 10
- Revamped touch controls, controller support, and a controller mapping screen

Give players the exact release number before they launch. If one person updated automatically while the server stayed on an older release, roll the client back to the server’s version or update the server using the pack author’s documented process. Do not copy random individual JAR files between installations; that can create a configuration that matches neither release.
Backups and safe updates
Back up before configuration changes
Stop the server cleanly, copy the world directory and server configuration to storage outside the live installation, and label the backup with the pack version and date. Include the launch script and any administrator-managed files that you would need to reproduce the setup. Keep at least one backup that is not mounted as the live server’s writable directory.
Updating the modpack
- Read the release notes and confirm that a matching dedicated-server archive exists.
- Back up the world and current server directory.
- Build the new installation in a separate clean directory.
- Apply only migration steps explicitly documented by the pack author.
- Start the new server with Java 21, accept any new configuration prompts and inspect the console for errors.
- Test with an administrator account before inviting the full player group.
Never overwrite a functioning installation while troubleshooting an update. Keeping the old directory lets you return to the previous release if a mod, world conversion or configuration change fails.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Managed hosting: when it helps
A managed Minecraft host can install or update server software, provide a control panel, handle Java and startup settings, and offer tools for files, players and backups. Modrinth Hosting advertises integrated modpack installation, NeoForge support and management features, making this type of service a reasonable alternative for people who do not want to maintain Java, scripts, firewall rules and router forwarding themselves.

Support for a generic NeoForge server does not prove support for this particular pack. Before paying, ask the provider to confirm all of the following:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- It lists Tensura Evolutions 1.0.69.9 or accepts the exact Serverpack_version_1.0.69.9.v2.zip.
- The selected server runs Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge and Java 21.
- The plan supplies enough usable memory for your expected player count; 6 GB is only the documented starting baseline.
- You can upload the server pack or access the files if one-click installation is unavailable.
- Backups, world downloads, console access and migration between pack releases are supported under the provider’s actual terms.
- The advertised price, storage, player limits, renewal rate and cancellation policy are clear.
General deployment routes such as Modrinth Servers, mrpack-install or the itzg/minecraft-server Docker image can simplify server-side modpack installation, but they are useful only when the pack is available in a compatible format. Do not assume that a client ZIP can be consumed directly by every installer.
Troubleshooting by symptom
“Incompatible mod list” or a handshake failure
- Confirm the server uses Serverpack_version_1.0.69.9.v2.zip.
- Confirm the player uses Tensura Evolutions 1.0.69.9, Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
- Remove manually added or removed mods and restore the official pack contents.
- Check both sides’ logs for the first mismatch; later errors are often consequences of that initial difference.
The server exits immediately
- Verify that the launch process is using Java 21.
- Run the supplied script from the extracted server directory so relative paths resolve correctly.
- Read the first fatal error in the latest log instead of focusing on the final shutdown line.
- Check that the archive was fully extracted and that the host has enough disk space.
“Out of memory,” freezes or severe lag
- Start from the 6 GB baseline and leave additional memory for the operating system.
- Reduce simultaneous exploration and heavy workloads while diagnosing the issue.
- Check whether the host is swapping or throttling CPU resources.
- Increase memory only when the machine has capacity; more RAM cannot fix a wrong Java version, a broken mod or a network problem.
Friends cannot see or join the server
- Confirm the server reached its ready state and is listening on the intended port.
- Test locally first, then test from outside the home network.
- Recheck the firewall rule, router destination address and public IP.
- Investigate carrier-grade NAT or provider restrictions if port forwarding appears correct but external tests still fail.
The world or configuration behaves differently after an update
Stop the new server, restore the pre-update backup in a separate test directory and compare the pack’s documented migration requirements. Do not delete the original world while investigating; an apparently damaged world may simply be opened with an incompatible release or incomplete configuration.
