To hide your number on supported outgoing calls, open Phone > More options (the three vertical dots) > Settings > Supplementary services > Show your caller ID, then choose Never. The setting affects caller ID for voice calls; it does not hide your number in text messages or make a call universally anonymous. Samsung’s menu labels can vary by device, software version, region and carrier.
Hide your number on outgoing calls
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap More options (the three vertical dots).
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Supplementary services.
- Tap Show your caller ID.
- Select Never.
These are Samsung’s current English-language steps. Samsung also documents this route for Android 14 and 15, and notes that the SIM must be active. Samsung UK’s caller ID guide and Samsung Russia’s Android 14/15 guide describe the setting.
Choose what callers see
| Setting | Effect on outgoing caller ID |
|---|---|
| Never | Hides your number from the person receiving a supported call. |
| Always | Displays your number. |
| Network default | Leaves the display decision to your mobile network operator. |
Carrier and country rules matter: Samsung says some carriers and countries do not allow number hiding. Selecting Never therefore does not guarantee that every call will be presented as hidden.

The menu path looks different
On older software or different Phone app versions, the caller ID control may appear under Phone > More options > Settings, Call settings, More or Supplementary settings. The exact labels and availability can depend on the Galaxy model, software version, regional variant, SIM and carrier.

The option is missing or the number still appears
Confirm that the SIM is active, then ask your mobile carrier whether caller ID hiding is supported in your country and on your service, or whether the carrier must activate it. Samsung identifies carrier and country restrictions as reasons the option may be unavailable or ineffective.
What this setting does not hide
It controls caller ID for outgoing voice calls, not the number shown when you send an SMS. It also does not guarantee anonymity; the setting is about what the recipient sees as caller ID, not a promise that a call cannot otherwise be identified.

Why a hidden-number call may not connect
The person you call may block or reject calls from hidden or unknown numbers. That is a setting on the recipient’s phone and is separate from hiding your caller ID. On a Galaxy, incoming-call filtering is under Phone > More options > Settings > Block numbers > Block unknown/hidden numbers, though the final label may vary. This blocks hidden callers coming to that Galaxy; it does not hide its owner’s number on outgoing calls. See Samsung Gulf’s guide to blocking numbers on a Galaxy phone.
