To hide your number on outgoing calls from a Samsung phone, open the Phone app and go to More options (three dots) > Settings > Supplementary services > Show your caller ID, then select Never. This requests that your number not be shown to people you call; whether it works depends on your mobile operator and country.
Turn off caller ID in the Samsung Phone app
- Open the Samsung Phone app.
- Tap More options, shown as three dots.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Supplementary services.
- Tap Show your caller ID.
- Choose Never to request hidden caller ID. If you use two SIMs, check whether the setting applies to the SIM you use for calls.
Samsung’s current route is documented in its caller ID support guide. The exact labels and menu location can differ across phone models and Android versions.
What the three caller ID choices mean
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Never | Requests that your caller ID not be displayed on outgoing voice calls. |
| Always | Displays your caller ID. |
| Network default | Leaves the caller ID display decision to your mobile network operator. |
The setting concerns what is shown to the person receiving your call. Samsung’s instructions do not establish that it makes a call anonymous to the carrier or other systems.

If you cannot find the setting
Look in the Phone app’s Call settings, More, or More settings sections. On older software, the option may be named Show my caller ID. For example, a One New Zealand guide for the Galaxy Note9 running Android 8.1 gives the route Phone > menu > Settings > More settings > Show my caller ID. See the Galaxy Note9 Android 8.1 guide.

If the control is missing or unavailable, your carrier or country may not support hiding caller ID. Samsung Support says, “Some network carriers and countries do not allow you to hide your number.” Contact your operator to ask whether it supports the feature on your line.

What hiding caller ID does—and does not—change
- It applies to outgoing voice calls. It does not hide caller identification when you send text messages. One New Zealand’s Galaxy A54 5G guide for Android 13 also distinguishes calls from messages.
- Some people may not receive the call. Samsung notes that a recipient who blocks unknown numbers may prevent a call with hidden caller ID from connecting.
- The carrier may control the result. If your number still appears after selecting Never, ask your operator whether it supports the request and whether it controls or overrides the setting. Samsung Gulf also describes carrier limitations in its Galaxy caller ID guidance.
