Rex Infernus has a secret conversation encounter with Ava, also called the Entity. A Gamer.org guide reports 16 conversation variants across eight Dedicated Operators. Its trigger is a purple rift that appears during a Deathspinner round after Pack-a-Punch is activated at the Nexus Forge; the exact rift location varies by Sanctuary. These details are guide-reported, not confirmed in Call of Duty’s map announcement.
What the Entity encounter is
Rex Infernus is a round-based Zombies map and the announced finale of the Black Ops 7 Zombies storyline. Call of Duty’s Season 05 Reloaded announcement describes the map and its content, including Deathspinners, but does not document this secret conversation encounter.
The encounter details below come from a Gamer.org walkthrough published August 25, 2026. Treat its trigger, conversation summaries, and loot information as guide-reported gameplay details. The guide summarizes the conversations rather than providing full transcripts, so the plot descriptions here are not verbatim dialogue.

How to trigger the purple-rift encounter
- Activate Pack-a-Punch at the Nexus Forge.
- Wait for a Deathspinner special round.
- Search the four Sanctuaries: Caltheris’s, Dravakar’s, Nyxara’s, and Veytharion’s. Look for a glowing purple rift on a wall; the guide says it appears in one of the Sanctuaries and its precise position varies.
- Interact with the rift to enter a separate room and meet Ava, the Entity.
The guide does not establish a more precise spawn location or a way to make the rift appear in a particular Sanctuary.

How to hear all 16 variants
Repeat the rift encounter with different Dedicated Operators. The guide reports two variants per Operator, but does not explain whether both can play in one match or give a reliable way to force a specific variant. If you are collecting every exchange, track which Operators you have used and listen for a second distinct conversation on repeat encounters.

The guide says completing a conversation returns the Operator outside the rift and awards a collection of loot that may include Mystery Perks; a Ray Gun is also described as possible. These are possible outcomes, not guaranteed drops. Call of Duty’s announcement lists rewards for the Main Quest and other challenges, but does not confirm the secret encounter’s loot pool.
