In Homeworld, the resource you are trying to increase is RUs. For the original game, a legacy guide describes changing the starting-RU value in singleplayer.script before beginning a new campaign. For Homeworld Remastered Collection, a separate 2015 guide describes editing a campaign save file; compatibility is not established for every current build. If you want an in-game option instead, the original manual documents resource settings for custom multiplayer games.
Which Homeworld version and game mode do you mean?
Cheat instructions depend on both the edition and the mode. The original game’s starting-resource script edit, a Remastered campaign-save edit, custom multiplayer resource settings, and a third-party trainer are separate methods—not one universal cheat.
- Original Homeworld: A legacy guide describes editing the starting RU setting. It applies to a new campaign, not an existing save.
- Homeworld Remastered Collection: GameRevolution’s April 23, 2015 guide describes changing a value in a campaign save file. It cautions that some original command-line shortcuts may not work in Remastered.
- Custom multiplayer: The original manual documents built-in resource options, including periodic injections and a one-time lump sum. These are lobby settings, not campaign cheats.
- Remastered on Windows: WeMod lists a trainer with an unlimited-resources option, but support depends on the installed game version.
Homeworld Access says it does not cover Gearbox Remastered troubleshooting; its home page reports a June 2024 update. Compatibility of the original instructions across current Remastered builds is therefore not established.

Cheatbook’s legacy guide describes this edit for the original Homeworld. It is community guidance, not a verified procedure for Remastered or modern builds.

- Open the original game’s
singleplayer.scriptfile in a text editor. - Find
SINGLEPLAYER_STARTINGRUS, shown with a default value of750. - Replace the value with four to eight nines, as the guide suggests.
- Start a new game for the change to take effect; the guide says it cannot be applied to an existing saved game.
The guide warns that an excessively large value can become negative in the game. It does not establish a safe maximum, so do not assume that adding more digits will produce a larger usable balance.
What is different about Remastered?
GameRevolution’s guide, published April 23, 2015, describes editing the RUs value at the bottom of a campaign persist file after completing at least the first mission. That is a save-file method, distinct from changing the original game’s starting-RU script setting.

The same guide warns that some original Homeworld shortcut parameters may not work in Remastered. The available compatibility information does not confirm that either file-edit method works across every current Remastered build, so treat the 2015 instructions as version-specific guidance rather than a guaranteed current cheat.

The original Homeworld manual describes custom multiplayer settings for starting resources, periodic resource injections, and a one-time lump sum. It also documents an option to disable harvesting, while warning that resources will run out quickly unless another RU supply is configured. These settings belong to custom multiplayer setup; they are not campaign cheats.

Does a trainer offer unlimited resources in Remastered?
WeMod’s vendor page lists a Windows trainer for Homeworld Remastered Collection with God Mode, Unlimited Resources, One-Hit Kills, Instant Build, and Instant Research. The page says the app checks whether the installed game version is supported and allows users to try or request updates when it is not. Those are vendor-listed features, not confirmation that the trainer works with every game build or platform.

A legacy guide recommends heavy corvettes supported by repair frigates. Its proposed force is a heuristic, not a tested or universally optimal fleet composition: the guide’s suggested counts vary, although it gives a rough rule of about one support frigate for each square root of the number of corvettes. Its examples include 36 corvettes with 6 frigates and 49 with 7; another passage gives different support counts.

Set up the formation and repair support
- Build the heavy corvettes and arrange them in wall formation.
- Select the support frigates, hold the special-function key
z, and select the corvettes to attach support. - Set the corvettes to aggressive and hunt.
Use the fleet without outrunning its support
The guide says heavy corvettes can quickly destroy strike craft and recommends an initial burst round against grouped strike craft before issuing ordinary attack orders. Because frigates move more slowly, advance the corvettes in short steps and allow the support frigates to catch up so they remain within repair range. This is strategy advice from the guide, not independently tested matchup data.
When deciding whether to use the formation, account for the force’s cost and unit availability alongside repair coverage and movement speed. The source provides no controlled comparison showing that its suggested ratio is best against every opponent.
