In How to Fish, the Professional Boss Lure is the item used to summon the Tuna mini-boss. Guides report a price of $1,200 at the Island 4 shop; a guide for version 1.0.12 also lists Island 5. Equip a weapon before casting, because the fight begins as Tuna comes out of the water.
Which lure summons Tuna, and how much does it cost?
Buy the Professional Boss Lure, reported at $1,200. NerdsChalk’s guide, checked against version 1.0.4, and Corpus’s guide for version 1.0.12 report the same price. The latter lists shops on Islands 4 and 5; Island 4 is the first reported location. NerdsChalk and Corpus are secondary guides, so shop availability can change with game updates.
Do not confuse it with the Professional Lure
The similarly named Professional Lure is a separate standard fishing item. NerdsChalk lists it at $50; it is not the lure used to summon the Tuna mini-boss. The price comparison is specific to that guide’s version 1.0.4 check. NerdsChalk’s lure-cost guide also does not establish a numeric durability rate for either item.

- Buy the Professional Boss Lure from a reported Island 4 shop. If you are playing version 1.0.12, Corpus also lists Island 5.
- Equip your weapon before casting. Tuna attacks as it is brought out of the water, so do not begin the encounter unprepared.
- When Tuna charges, move out of its path and reverse direction so it overshoots. Use the recovery window to attack. This tactic is described by AllThings.how; weapon recommendations differ among guides, so no single weapon is established as best for every player.
Why you should keep the Tuna
Defeating Tuna is tied to the next bird encounter. The version 1.0.12 guide identifies that follow-up as the Albatross encounter and describes using Tuna as bait. Keep the Tuna body until you have completed or confirmed that progression step; selling or discarding it early could interrupt the sequence.

Can the Professional Boss Lure break?
Yes. Guides describe a durability roll: the lure may survive a use or be destroyed. They do not establish a reliable percentage or a fixed number of uses, so do not count on reusing it. Budget for the possibility of buying another before attempting the encounter.
What is Tuna’s health?
There is no dependable universal figure in the available guides. Corpus reports 5,000 HP for a solo Default run in version 1.0.12, while other guides give 6,000 or 100. Those numbers conflict and may reflect different versions, modes, or errors. Treat 5,000 HP only as Corpus’s version- and mode-specific report, not as a current value guaranteed across builds. Check the game’s current build rather than planning around an unverified health total.
