The One Wish Willow Obsession Sprite is a Mythic Sprite introduced in Fortnite version 42.40 for the limited-time Fortnitemares 2026 event. You cannot force a specific spawn: open every Sprite-producing container you find, starting with Pumpkin Chests, and use event mechanics such as Trick or Treat Cheats and Cheat Codes until the random drop appears.
What One Wish Willow is
Epic’s Fortnitemares 2026 announcement lists the Obsession Sprite for October 15 and describes its purpose as letting One Wish Willow help you collect other Sprites. Current item references classify One Wish Willow as a Mythic Sprite added in version 42.40. It is an event collectible, so availability is tied to Fortnitemares rather than the permanent loot pool.
Fastest practical route to the Sprite
- Prioritize Pumpkin Chests. Search these event containers before ordinary chests. Destructoid reports that each Pumpkin Chest guarantees a Sprite, but the guaranteed item can be a different Sprite instead of One Wish Willow.
- Use Trick or Treat Cheats. Epic says these cheats can provide an additional treat alongside a Sprite, giving you another event roll while you are already collecting.
- Redeem Cheat Codes when available. Current Fortnite guides identify Cheat Codes as another Sprite source. Use them during the event rather than saving them for a supposed fixed Willow location.
- Check opportunity-based sources. Reports also describe rare chests reached through Vaults, Bounty Hunter Sprite eliminations, and player trading as possible routes. These options depend on the match and other players, so treat them as extra chances rather than a farming guarantee.
- Repeat the search across matches. Keep opening containers and activating event mechanics that produce Sprites. There is no confirmed fixed chest, landmark, or elimination that always awards One Wish Willow.

No published source establishes that one of these methods has better odds for One Wish Willow specifically. A Pumpkin Chest is the most dependable starting point because it is reported to guarantee a Sprite of some kind, not because it guarantees the Mythic.
Why you may not be finding it
You are opening the wrong containers
Ordinary loot does not have the event guarantee described for Pumpkin Chests. Route your early exploration toward Pumpkin Chests and other explicitly reported Sprite sources instead of assuming every chest has the same pool.

You are expecting a fixed spawn
The available guides state that One Wish Willow has no guaranteed location. A landmark map or a chest opened by another player is therefore not proof that the next match will contain the Sprite there.
You are stopping after one attempt
A Pumpkin Chest can award a different Sprite, and the exact One Wish Willow drop rate has not been published. Continue using event sources across matches rather than treating one unsuccessful opening as a bug.

One Wish Willow’s abilities
- Sprite extraction on elimination: eliminating an opponent extracts the Sprites they have equipped.
- Damage-based knockback: taking damage pushes nearby enemies away, creating space when you are pressured.
- Removal reveals the holder: removing One Wish Willow marks that holder on the map. This is a tactical penalty, so do not remove it at an exposed or otherwise dangerous moment unless the information is worth the risk.
The published references do not state the marker duration, push distance, cooldown, or One Wish Willow’s exact drop rate. Those values should not be treated as known numbers when planning a loadout or route.
Can you guarantee the drop?
No. The strongest documented guarantee is for obtaining a Sprite from a Pumpkin Chest, not for receiving this particular Mythic. The reliable approach is to maximize eligible attempts: search Pumpkin Chests first, use Trick or Treat Cheats and Cheat Codes, and take the Vault, bounty, or trading opportunities that naturally appear. Avoid risky detours solely because a guide claims a confirmed Willow spawn; current information does not support one.

Useful match strategy once you have it
- Use the extraction effect after an elimination when taking an opponent’s Sprites improves your build.
- When damaged at close range, account for the knockback effect on nearby enemies before committing to a chase or finishing move.
- Plan around the reveal caused by removal. If you need to discard One Wish Willow, move toward cover first when the match situation allows.
