To start Huss Valley, open the intended Roblox experience, confirm your device, read the role and objective shown for the current round, and learn one input at a time. The documented keyboard controls are Left Control for Shift Lock, Space for Vault, C for Slide, Q for Ability, J for Journal, T for Get Task, and Y for Leaderboard. Runners try to complete the displayed crossing objective while Chasers try to catch them; because similarly named experiences and changing round prompts exist, the screen in your own session takes priority over any fixed guide.

- Touch: look for the movement stick and action buttons supplied by the current interface; do not assume that tapping the screen where a keyboard action would be is supported.
- Controller: read the current button prompts and check whether an ability or menu requires a shoulder button, face button, stick click, or an on-screen menu.
What the objective and roles mean
Huss Valley is described as a tag-and-chase experience with two reported roles: Runner and Chaser. The broad loop is straightforward, but the exact prompt shown in a particular round is the authority you should follow.

Runner
A Runner’s reported task is to cross the arena. One description refers to three successful crossings. Treat that as the reported loop rather than a promise that every current round uses the same count. At the beginning of the round, look for the destination marker, crossing prompt, or other objective text. Move toward that displayed goal and use movement actions only when they help you reach the next visible target.
If a catch, reset, or role change interrupts the attempt, reread the role and objective instead of continuing with the previous plan. A round can change what you are expected to do without changing the key assigned to an action.
Chaser
A Chaser’s reported task is to catch Runners. Read the capture prompt or other objective indicator before moving. Your first priority is to understand where the game expects a capture to occur and what feedback confirms it. Avoid treating a generic collision, a missed approach, or a delayed animation as proof of a successful catch; wait for the round’s confirmation.
Possible role changes
The reported loop allows a role change after a catch in some situations. The exact transition is not established for every version or round. When the screen assigns a new role, accept that assignment as the current state and read the new objective from the interface. Do not rely on a fixed assumption that you will remain a Runner or Chaser for the whole match.

Learn the movement and camera inputs before trying to combine them with an ability. This prevents a common beginner error: pressing several keys at once and not knowing whether the action failed, was unavailable, or was simply hidden by another animation.
Your first five minutes, step by step
- Open and verify the experience. Confirm that you are in the intended Huss Valley destination and not a similarly named Roblox experience. If the title, lobby, or role labels look wrong, leave and check before practicing.
- Confirm your input device. On keyboard, keep the key table nearby. On touch or controller, identify the movement, camera, and action prompts shown by that device’s interface.
- Read the role and objective. Before moving, determine whether the round assigned Runner or Chaser and read the current instruction. A Runner should identify the crossing or destination prompt; a Chaser should identify the capture prompt.
- Test ordinary movement and camera control. Use a low-pressure moment to walk, turn, and check whether your camera is comfortable. Do not begin by holding every action key.
- Toggle Shift Lock once, if you are on keyboard. Press Left Control, observe the camera, and press it again if you prefer the previous view. The goal is to recognize the state, not to commit to one camera style.
- Practice Space and C separately. Try Vault, then Slide, with enough time between presses to see an animation, movement change, or other response. Keep the test away from a critical chase when possible.
- Inspect the session actions. Press Q only when the ability indicator suggests it is available. Open J for the Journal, T for the current task, and Y for the Leaderboard in a safe moment so a menu does not surprise you during a chase.
- Record one observation. Note what started, what did not start, or what responded late. In the next round, change one variable—position, timing, camera state, or device input—rather than changing everything at once.
How to play your first Runner round
1. Convert the prompt into a route
Read the displayed destination or crossing instruction before choosing a direction. Break the route into visible landmarks instead of staring at the entire arena. Move to the next safe reference point, then check the objective again. If the game supplies a marker, use that marker rather than an imagined route from a video or an older guide.

Use ordinary movement until you understand the arena’s spacing. Add a Vault when an obstacle clearly requires it, and test Slide only when you can see how it affects your position. Combining a camera toggle, Vault, Slide, and Ability on the same attempt makes a failure difficult to diagnose.

3. Watch for confirmation of a crossing
A successful crossing should produce whatever feedback the current round uses: a changed objective, progress indicator, animation, sound, or other confirmation. Do not assume that touching a boundary counts. If no confirmation appears, reread the task and try the displayed route again.
4. Re-read the objective after an interruption
A catch, reset, or role change can alter the next action. Stop for a moment, identify the new role, and use T if the current task is unclear. Continue only after the interface tells you what to do next.
How to play your first Chaser round
1. Identify the capture instruction
Look for the capture prompt, target indication, or other round-specific instruction. The objective is to catch Runners, but the interface determines what the game recognizes as a successful catch.

2. Learn approach and feedback before experimenting
Use normal movement to understand how close you must be and what happens when an attempt succeeds or fails. If Q is available, test the Ability when you can observe its result; do not infer its function from the key alone. There is no established value here for speed, range, damage, cooldown, or invulnerability, so avoid treating guesses as rules.

3. Check the state after every apparent catch
Wait for a clear state change, objective update, or other confirmation. If the role changes, read the new assignment. If nothing changes, treat the attempt as unconfirmed and adjust one factor—distance, angle, timing, or camera—on the next try.
A practice order that prevents control confusion
Use this sequence when you have a quiet moment or a low-stakes round:
- Camera: toggle Left Control and compare both views.
- Movement: walk, turn, and stop without pressing an action key.
- Vault: press Space once near a visible obstacle and observe the result.
- Slide: press C separately and note how the character enters and exits the move.
- Ability: press Q only when the interface indicates availability; look for activation or an availability change.
- Session screens: use J, T, and Y outside an urgent chase, then close each screen and return to the objective.
- Combination: combine only two known actions, such as camera plus movement or movement plus Vault, and keep a single goal for the test.
This order is a practical beginner recommendation, not an official ranking. It gives each input a recognizable signal before you add another source of motion or information.

The control list does not publish Vault height, Slide length, stamina rules, recovery time, cooldown durations, invulnerability windows, or exact movement speeds. Those values may be version-dependent or simply undocumented. You should therefore learn advanced timing from the current game’s feedback rather than from a number copied from another experience.

Community descriptions of Dash and Alt conflict, and Shift has not been confirmed in the available notes. Do not add Dash, Alt, or Shift to your personal control plan until the current in-game prompt, settings screen, or a clearly labeled control display confirms what they do. If a key appears to work in one session but not another, check the role, objective, device, and ability state before concluding that the mapping changed.
Device-specific troubleshooting
Keyboard input does nothing
- Click the game window or respawn interface so it has focus.
- Check that you are using the left Control key for Shift Lock, not a right-side modifier with a different function.
- Test ordinary movement first. If movement also fails, the issue is broader than Vault, Slide, or Ability.
- Look for a current prompt or settings panel that overrides the documented mapping.
Vault or Slide appears unavailable
- Try the action in a safe, open position and then near an obvious obstacle.
- Press one key once and wait for feedback; repeated presses can hide whether the action has a recovery period.
- Check whether a menu, stun, role change, or objective transition is active.
- Record the exact position and timing, then change only one factor in the next attempt.
Q does not activate an ability
- Read the ability indicator and verify that it is available.
- Check whether the current role or round permits the action.
- Look for a cooldown, disabled state, or required target shown by the interface.
- Do not assume that a delayed response means the key is wrong; the effect or availability state may be subtle.
Touch or controller actions are unclear
Use the controls displayed for that device. A keyboard key is an input label, not a universal command. If the interface offers a help panel, settings page, or button legend, follow that current display and test actions outside a critical chase.
