Puppet Fang is Koo’s Skill Amber in Beast of Reincarnation. You earn it by defeating the two elite enemies in the eastern crater near Crater Complex A in the Chapter 8 Crater Zone. The encounter is in the crater basin, not in a chest. After the fight, the reward is reported as awarded automatically. Puppet Fang makes Koo perform an attack that can turn affected foes into puppets, although the available guides do not establish a dependable activation rate, duration, damage value, or list of immune enemies.
Where to find Puppet Fang
Puppet Fang is in the Crater Zone, the area identified by walkthroughs as Chapter 8. The reliable landmark is Crater Complex A. From the Ruined Highway campsite, travel northeast to the Crater Complex A campsite, then look for the crater immediately associated with the complex. The Puppet Fang encounter is in the eastern crater, with the two elites positioned around the crater’s center.
PowerPyx gives the most precise orientation: Crater Complex A is northeast of the Ruined Highway campsite, and the paired elite enemies are east of the Crater Complex A campsite in the crater center. Neoseeker, GameFAQs, and NerdsChalk also place the fight in an eastern crater. If the terrain makes the direction hard to judge, use the campsite and the paired elite battle as your identifiers rather than trying to match a particular rock or path.

Route checklist
- Advance to the Crater Zone, which the guides label as Chapter 8.
- Locate the Ruined Highway campsite if you need a fixed starting point.
- Travel northeast to the Crater Complex A campsite.
- Move east from that campsite and enter the crater basin.
- At the crater center, engage the two elite enemies.
- Defeat both elites and check the post-battle reward for Skill Amber: Puppet Fang.
Which enemies drop it?
The reward comes from a two-enemy elite encounter. Different guides use different labels for the same fight. PowerPyx and some walkthroughs call them Elite Malefacts; other pages use Lupine Malefacts or describe them as wolf-type elites. NerdsChalk even uses a variant spelling when referring to the wolf-type enemies. These naming differences do not indicate separate rewards. The dependable combination is the paired elite fight in the eastern crater by Crater Complex A.

There is no evidence that a single ordinary enemy, a random drop, or a chest contains Puppet Fang. The guides describe it as the reward for clearing this specific elite pair. If you have defeated one enemy and left the other alive, the encounter is not complete; both elites must be defeated before the reward is issued.
Eastern and western crater rewards
The Crater Complex A area contains a nearby western crater encounter that can easily cause a wrong-turn report. It is a separate pair of elites and does not award Puppet Fang. PowerPyx and GameFAQs distinguish the rewards as follows:

If the battle awarded Entangled Fang or Final Fang, you completed the western encounter. Do not assume Puppet Fang failed to drop; return to the eastern crater and look for the other elite pair.

What Puppet Fang does
Puppet Fang is a Skill Amber for Koo. The skill reference used by the Beast of Reincarnation WIKI says Koo uses it automatically and that it unleashes an attack that makes foes puppets. NerdsChalk describes the result as turning affected foes into puppet allies. In practical terms, the skill is an automatic Koo attack with a puppet-conversion effect rather than an item you manually activate from a conventional consumable menu.
The wording “can make affected foes into puppets” is deliberate. The available references do not provide a verified percentage chance, effect duration, damage amount, range, cooldown, or complete list of enemies that resist the effect. They also do not establish that every target in an encounter is converted. Treat the puppet result as the broad, documented function and avoid relying on an unverified number when planning a fight.
What is confirmed
- The amber is named Puppet Fang.
- It belongs to Koo.
- Koo uses the skill automatically, according to the skill reference.
- The attack can make affected foes puppets or puppet allies.
- The amber is obtained from the eastern Crater Complex A elite pair.
What is not established
- A numeric activation or proc rate.
- How long a puppet remains under the effect.
- A damage figure, stagger value, or other combat statistic.
- Whether bosses, named elites, or particular enemy types are immune.
- A manual activation command or a guaranteed trigger condition.
The August 8, 2026 update shown on the Beast of Reincarnation WIKI and the August 13, 2026 NerdsChalk guide describe the broad effect but do not fill in those mechanics. Until an in-game description or a tested technical reference provides them, use the skill for its potential crowd-control value without promising a guaranteed conversion.

How to claim the reward
The reward should appear when the elite pair is defeated. A separate chest-opening step is not described by the location guides. Follow this sequence to make sure you are checking the correct completion point:

- Enter the eastern crater and confirm that two elite enemies are present.
- Defeat both members of the pair; defeating only one does not clear the encounter.
- Wait for the battle to end and for the normal victory or reward notification to finish.
- Open Koo’s Skill Amber or skill-management view and look for Puppet Fang.
- If it is absent, verify the crater location and the names of the rewards you received before repeating the fight or reloading a save.
The final check in Koo’s menu is useful because it distinguishes an unclaimed reward from a skill that is already in your collection. The guides do not document a repeatable chest, a merchant purchase, or a crafting recipe for this amber.
Troubleshooting a missing Puppet Fang
You received Entangled Fang or Final Fang
Those names identify the western crater encounter. Use the Crater Complex A campsite as your anchor, move to the eastern crater, and find the other paired elite fight. The two crater groups are close enough to confuse a route followed without a landmark.

You found only one elite
Search the crater center rather than the outer rim and make sure both enemies have loaded into the encounter. The reward is tied to the pair, so a partial fight cannot be used to confirm the drop.
The enemies have different names from a guide
Terminology varies among the guides: Elite Malefacts, Lupine Malefacts, and wolf-type elites all refer to descriptions of this paired battle. Prioritize the eastern-crater location and the two-enemy composition over an exact spelling.
The battle ended but no chest appeared
A chest is not the documented delivery method. Check the victory reward notification and Koo’s skill or amber list instead. The location walkthroughs describe Puppet Fang as the elite-fight reward, not as a chest pickup.

The skill does not convert every target
No source establishes a guaranteed effect. The documented description says the attack makes affected foes puppets, while the reviewed references omit the activation chance and enemy restrictions. A failed conversion by itself does not prove that you found the wrong skill or crater.

Because Koo triggers the skill automatically, your main decision is whether to keep the amber equipped or available for the relevant build, not when to press a Puppet Fang button. The puppet effect may change the shape of a group encounter when it works, but the sources do not quantify its reliability. Plan around Koo’s normal combat role and treat a puppet conversion as an additional outcome rather than the sole condition for winning.
For documentation purposes, record the skill exactly as it appears in your game and distinguish observed behavior from the published description. A player can reasonably say that Puppet Fang is an automatic Koo attack with a puppet effect. It would be inaccurate to add a percentage, duration, damage total, or immunity list unless the game itself or a documented test supplies those values.

The route is corroborated by several walkthroughs, but they are not primary developer documentation. PowerPyx supplies the most detailed campsite and crater orientation; GameFAQs cross-checks the Chapter 8 route and the western-versus-eastern reward distinction; Neoseeker independently places the paired fight in the eastern crater; and NerdsChalk covers the location and broad effect. The Beast of Reincarnation WIKI’s August 8, 2026 entry documents Koo’s automatic use and the puppet effect. None of these references provides a verified numeric combat statistic for Puppet Fang.
