Apple says preorders begin October 16, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time. If delivery works for you, the same checkout flow shows an estimate and sends order and shipment notifications after purchase.
Independent trackers can alert you when an Apple Store pickup listing changes, and retailers may offer their own app or email alerts. Prepare the exact configuration you want
Stock notifications are only useful when they lead to a purchase you will actually keep. Decide these choices before the preorder or restock window:
- Storage: Apple’s U.S. shop page lists 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities.
- Color: Select a first choice and, if you are willing, an acceptable alternative. Color-specific inventory can appear and disappear independently.

Set up Apple’s Store app for the fastest check
- Install or update the Apple Store app on the iPhone or iPad you will use during the launch window.
- Sign in with the Apple Account you intend to use for the purchase and confirm your contact and delivery details. Keep any required payment information accessible.
- Open the iPhone Duo product page and choose the precise storage, color, and carrier or purchase route you prepared.

- Compare the pickup location and timing with the delivery estimate. If pickup is not offered, continue with delivery rather than repeatedly refreshing a store that has no matching unit.
- Review the final configuration, price, delivery or pickup method, and contact details before placing the order.
Apple’s purchase guidance says its delivery flow provides order and tracking notifications after checkout. Those messages confirm progress on an order you already placed; they are different from a back-in-stock alert.
Pickup and delivery are different kinds of availability
Pickup availability
Pickup is location-specific and configuration-specific. A store may have an iPhone Duo in one capacity or color while another configuration is unavailable. Inventory can also be claimed by another customer between the time you view the result and the time Apple processes your order. When Apple pickup inventory changes quickly, an independent monitor can reduce manual refreshing. - The monitor may check on a schedule, so another shopper can claim the unit before you open the alert.
- A listing can change between the monitor’s check and Apple’s checkout system.

Configure a tracker to open the relevant Apple product or pickup page, then verify the configuration and location directly. If the page no longer shows availability, the alert has served its purpose but the unit is already gone.
Enable alerts at other retailers
Retailers handle restock notifications differently. On the retailer’s official website or app, look for a product-page control such as “notify me,” “email me when available,” or an app notification option. Before relying on it, confirm all of the following:
- The retailer sells iPhone Duo in your country and supports notifications for that market.
- The alert is attached to the exact storage, color, carrier, and purchase type you want, rather than only to the general iPhone Duo listing.
- You can choose the store, shipping destination, or fulfillment method that applies to you.
- The message links to a live product page or checkout path, not merely to a marketing page.

Make a launch-window plan
Before the announced time
- Convert 5:00 a.m. PT to your local time and set two alarms.
- Update the Apple Store app and sign in before the window opens.
- Save your preferred configuration and list acceptable alternatives in order.
- Confirm your delivery address, pickup stores, and payment route.
- Enable notifications for any tracker or retailer you have chosen, using only the permissions it actually needs.
During the window
- Start with Apple’s app or website, not a third-party alert. Apple is the authoritative source for Apple inventory.
- Check pickup for several nearby stores using the exact configuration.
- If pickup is empty, compare delivery immediately. Do not assume that a later refresh will improve the delivery estimate.
- If a tracker or retailer alert arrives, open it and verify stock on the official product page before entering payment details.
- Complete one successful order rather than placing multiple speculative orders that could create duplicate charges or cancellations.
After ordering
Save the order confirmation and watch Apple’s order and tracking notifications for delivery purchases. For pickup, follow the status and collection instructions shown in the order. Cancel extra alerts once you have secured the phone so you do not continue responding to stale notifications.

The alert arrives after inventory is gone
Fast-moving inventory can disappear between a monitor’s check and your click. Open the official page immediately, but expect that some alerts will lead to an unavailable result.
The wrong configuration triggered the message
Check capacity, color, carrier, and fulfillment method. A 256GB listing does not satisfy a 1TB requirement, and a delivery listing does not create pickup inventory at your preferred store.

Checkout changes the estimate
Availability is re-evaluated as you proceed. If the delivery date or pickup result changes, decide whether the new date still works before submitting the order.
You receive too many notifications
Disable duplicate app, email, audio, and mobile alerts after you choose a primary channel. Excess notifications make it easier to miss the one that matches your configuration.
Privacy and account safety
Use Apple’s official app or website for Apple Account, address, and payment information. A stock monitor should not need your Apple password or payment details.
