The most reliable setup uses two different alerts: the streaming service’s own reminder when it has announced a future date, and a show-tracking service that watches for a season or episode actually becoming available. For a Netflix title with a published future date, use Remind Me. For shows spread across several services, track the series in JustWatch and enable its phone push notifications. Use a calendar service such as Trakt only for scheduled air-date reminders, not as proof that a season has entered a streaming catalog.
Choose the event you want to track
“A new season is coming” can describe three different events. Choosing the right one prevents most missed or mistimed alerts.

The key comparison axes are the event being tracked, the delivery channel, provider and country coverage, and the permissions or account access each option needs. None of these choices requires a separate reminder gadget: the useful mechanisms are software notifications, email, calendars, and web listings.
Set a Netflix “Remind Me” alert
Netflix documents a title-level Remind Me control for some programs with a future release date. It is the right choice when Netflix has already announced a date and you want Netflix itself to notify you.
Step 1: Open the title page
- Open Netflix in the app or in a browser and search for the show.
- Open the show’s detail page rather than relying on a search-result preview.
- Look for the Remind Me option. Its presence indicates that Netflix is offering a reminder for that title and its announced future availability.
Step 2: Activate the reminder
- Select Remind Me once. The control should change to indicate that the reminder is active.
- Check My List; Netflix says a reminded title appears there when it becomes available.
- Keep the Netflix app’s notifications and the email address on your account usable if you want either delivery route. Netflix says the eventual notice may be an in-app notification or an email.
Step 3: Treat the date as changeable
Netflix warns that release dates can move because of production delays or licensing contracts. If the date changes, the reminder follows Netflix’s current schedule rather than guaranteeing the original day. A reminder is therefore an announcement-following tool, not a fixed appointment.
When this method will not appear
- The title has no future release date published in Netflix’s catalog.
- The title is already available, so there is no upcoming date to remind you about.
- The feature is not offered for that particular title or in your market.
In those cases, use show tracking for catalog availability instead of repeatedly searching for a missing Remind Me button. Remind Me also follows Netflix’s own title record; it is not a request to monitor another provider that might carry the program later.
Track a show in JustWatch for season- or episode-availability alerts
JustWatch’s documented tracking workflow is the closest match to “tell me when the next season is out.” It follows a TV show and can notify you when a new season or episode becomes available.
Step 1: Find the show’s detail page
- Open JustWatch and search for the series.
- Select the TV show’s detail page, checking that it is the correct title and country version.
Step 2: Turn on tracking
- Select the show’s bookmark control.
- Choose Track Show from the available options.
- Confirm that the control now shows the title as tracked. Tracking the title and allowing notifications are separate actions.
Step 3: Grant phone push permission
- Open your phone’s system settings and find the notification settings for the JustWatch app.
- Allow push notifications. JustWatch Support states: “When a new season or episode becomes available, you will be notified via push notification (this needs to be enabled in your phone settings).”
- Also check that a system-wide Focus, Do Not Disturb, battery-saver, or notification-summary rule is not suppressing the app at the time you expect an alert.
Step 4: Check provider and country context
Availability is catalog- and region-specific. A season can be available from one provider or in one country while absent from another. Review the providers shown on the title page and make sure the JustWatch country setting matches where you watch. The exact services and timing can change as catalogs change.

What the JustWatch alert covers
The support description covers both a new season and a new episode. That makes tracking useful for weekly releases as well as a complete season dropped at once. It does not turn every streaming service into a guaranteed real-time feed; the title must be represented in the relevant JustWatch catalog, and your phone must be allowed to display the push.

Separate “new” from “upcoming”
JustWatch also provides separate upcoming-TV listings. Use those for announced future dates and the new-TV page for items already listed as newly available. Neither page should be treated as a promise that every catalog change will generate a push message; they are discovery and checking workflows.
The cited listings page is specifically the U.S. edition. If you live elsewhere, use the corresponding country setting and expect different dates, providers, and titles. A provider filter narrows the list, but it does not make the page an official notice from that provider.

Use a TV calendar for scheduled reminders, not catalog confirmation

When a calendar is useful
- You follow many broadcast or scheduled premiere dates.
- You want a daily or weekly digest instead of an immediate phone alert.
- You already manage reminders through an iCal or RSS-compatible calendar or reader.
What the calendar cannot establish
A scheduled air date is not the same as a season being available in a streaming catalog. The cited Trakt post does not promise a notification precisely when a provider adds a season, and the post’s 2024 date means current availability, account requirements, and settings should be checked before you depend on it. Pair a calendar reminder with JustWatch tracking or a provider’s own reminder when “watch now” availability matters.

Check dates close to release
Because announced dates can change and catalog availability is regional, verify the title page near the expected release window rather than relying on an old screenshot, saved search, or calendar entry.
