Yes—you can get Netflix on a Samsung Galaxy tablet through the Samsung Galaxy Store. Netflix lists Android 9 or later for the latest app on Galaxy devices. Installing the app does not by itself guarantee HD playback or offline downloads; those depend on the individual tablet and feature requirements.
How to install Netflix on a Samsung tablet
- Open the Samsung Galaxy Store on your tablet.
- Search for Netflix, select the Netflix app, and tap Install.
- Open Netflix and sign in, or sign up for an account.
Netflix directs Galaxy phone and tablet users to the Galaxy Store. Its latest-app requirement for Samsung Galaxy devices is Android 9 or later; Android 7–8 applies to older Netflix app versions, not the latest-app requirement. What to do if Netflix does not appear in the Galaxy Store
- Check whether the app is hidden. Review the tablet’s Apps screen and settings for hidden apps.
- Check certification. Netflix says an Android app may not appear if the device is not Play Protect certified. For an uncertified tablet, Netflix recommends using a supported device and contacting the manufacturer.
- Consider software changes. Rooting or modifying the operating system can prevent installation or proper operation.

Netflix permits downloads of select titles, but download support is device-dependent: some Android devices cannot download titles even when running the latest Netflix app. Keep Android and the Netflix app current; if downloads still do not work, Netflix says another device may be needed. Check the exact tablet instead of assuming every Galaxy Tab supports downloads. Netflix’s download troubleshooting guidance describes the compatibility limitation.

Downloads also depend on the plan and device. Netflix’s Downloads for You guidance says that feature is unavailable on ad-supported plans and uses Wi-Fi. That does not establish the manual-download entitlement for every plan, country, or title, so check the plan and title available to you.
Will Netflix play in HD on your Galaxy Tab?
App availability and HD playback are separate. Netflix says Android devices need Widevine L1 for HD; Widevine L3 limits playback to SD. In the Netflix app, open App Settings → Diagnostics → Playback Specification to check the tablet’s playback specification. Netflix currently lists the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ among tablets that can play Netflix in HD, but that does not mean all Samsung tablets are HD-capable. Can you watch Netflix in a browser instead?
Netflix supports watching through a compatible web browser without installing the app. Browser support can vary, so try the app first; if you use a browser, check Netflix’s requirements for that specific browser. See Netflix’s device installation and browser guidance.
Should you replace a tablet that cannot run Netflix?
Before replacing a tablet, check its Android version, whether Netflix appears in the Galaxy Store, its certification status, HD playback specification, and support for downloads on that exact device. Netflix lists the Galaxy Tab A9+ as HD-capable, making it one model to consider if a replacement is necessary.
