How to Get More Gems in All Star Tower Defense Without Codes (Original ASTD and ASTD X)

You can earn gems without redeeming codes, but the correct route depends on which game you opened: the original All Star Tower Defense (ASTD) or All Star Tower Defense X (ASTD X). Their menus, modes and reward systems are different, so a method that works in one version may be absent in the other.

Start by checking the game title and its lobby menus. Then use the in-game task panel, stage rewards and daily systems that are actually visible in your current server. Do not rely on an old reward chart for exact gem amounts, reset times or “best” farming rates; those values can change and have not been reliably established for the live versions covered here.

First identify which All Star Tower Defense you are playing

The version check is the most important step. Search results and community pages describe both games, but they do not share an identical economy.

Original ASTD

The original game is commonly organized around Story Mode, Infinite Mode and Tower Mode, with tasks and daily rewards appearing as additional gem routes. An Infinite Mode run may also advance damage-related tasks. The exact names, unlocks and payout values should be confirmed in your current task and reward panels.

ASTD X

ASTD X has a gem page that lists stage clears, time spent in the AFK Portal, daily challenges or tasks, level-up rewards claimed from the Grand Elder and daily login rewards. It also lists codes and market purchases, but those are outside this guide.

How to verify the version in under a minute

1. Read the game title on the Roblox experience page or loading screen.
2. Open the lobby and look at the mode buttons. Record whether you see an AFK Portal and a Grand Elder claim point; those labels are associated with ASTD X’s listed gem routes.
3. Open the task, quest or daily panel and note the wording of its objectives.
4. Check the gem counter before and after claiming a visible reward. If the counter does not change, look for a separate claim button or a mailbox-style reward screen.

If the interface does not match either description, treat the method as unconfirmed and follow the labels in your own client rather than forcing a guide written for another version.

Use the in-game task panel before choosing a farming route

Tasks are useful because they tell you what the current build considers reward-eligible activity. In ASTD X, daily challenges or tasks are listed as a possible recurring source. In original ASTD, search results also associate tasks with gem earning, including damage objectives connected with Infinite Mode.

Read every requirement

• Identify whether the task asks for a stage clear, a number of waves, damage, a particular mode, or a login action.
• Check whether progress is shown immediately or only after the match ends.
• Look for a separate Claim, Collect or chest button after completion.
• Note any level, map, unit or mode restriction before spending time on a run.

Plan around overlapping objectives

When a task asks for damage and another asks for a mode completion, play the mode that satisfies both at once. For example, an original ASTD Infinite Mode run may both produce mode progress and contribute to a damage task if the live task description says so. Do not assume that every point of combat damage converts directly into gems; only the displayed objective and reward text establish that connection.

Record the reset behavior shown by the client

Daily tasks may reset on a schedule, but no dependable universal reset time is established for these versions. Use the countdown or date shown in your own panel. If a task disappears before you claim it, check whether the reward was sent automatically, moved to a mailbox, or lost when the daily list refreshed.

ASTD X: the non-code gem routes listed in the game

ASTD X’s gem page identifies five non-code categories. Their current payout amounts and exact conditions should be read from the live page, not copied from an unverified chart.

1. Clear stages

Stage completion is the most direct route when a stage’s reward panel shows gems. Select a stage that your team can clear consistently, inspect the pre-match reward preview, and finish the run without leaving early. After the results screen, verify whether the gems were credited automatically or require a claim action.

1. Open the stage or story menu.
2. Select a stage with a visible gem reward or a task objective tied to stage clears.
3. Check stamina, entry limits and any recommended level shown by the game.
4. Complete the stage and wait for the results screen to finish loading.
5. Reopen the reward or task panel and claim anything marked available.

A higher-level stage is not automatically better. If it takes substantially longer or fails often, a shorter stage that you can clear reliably may produce more usable progress during your play session. The client does not currently provide a verified universal gems-per-minute benchmark, so compare only the results you observe in your own version.

2. Spend time in the AFK Portal

The ASTD X gem page lists AFK Portal time as a source. AFK systems can require an unlocked portal, a minimum level, an active server session or a manual collection step; the available material does not establish one universal requirement.

1. Open the portal or AFK menu and read its entry requirements.
2. Confirm what counts as active AFK time and whether the portal must remain open in a server.
3. Note the reward preview and any cap, pause condition or collection button shown.
4. Return when the portal indicates that a reward is ready, then use the displayed collect action.
5. Compare the gem counter before leaving the portal so you can detect an unclaimed reward.

Do not treat an unattended session as guaranteed income. Disconnects, server shutdowns, inventory limits or a portal cap can stop progress. If the portal timer does not move, follow the in-game requirement message instead of assuming the timer is broken.

3. Complete daily challenges and tasks

Daily objectives are a recurring opportunity when they are present in your ASTD X build. They may ask you to clear stages, play a mode, deal damage or perform another action. Open the panel at the beginning of a session and prioritize objectives that can be completed during ordinary play.

Claim each finished objective before the list refreshes. If the panel shows a progress bar at 100 percent but no gem change, switch tabs, reopen the menu or look for a dedicated claim control. A completed objective and a claimed reward are not always the same state.

4. Claim level-up rewards from the Grand Elder

ASTD X lists level-up rewards claimed from the Grand Elder. Leveling itself may only mark a reward as available; the wording specifically indicates a claim interaction.

1. After gaining a level, travel to the Grand Elder location shown in the lobby or map.
2. Interact with the character and open the level-reward page.
3. Look for an available reward associated with your current level.
4. Select the claim button and confirm that the gem balance or inventory changed.

If no reward appears, check whether the level was earned before joining the current server, whether the reward was already collected, or whether the character requires a different interaction prompt. Do not infer a gem amount from another player’s level because the live reward table is not confirmed here.

5. Collect daily login rewards

Daily login rewards are another ASTD X route listed by the gem page. Open the login calendar when you first enter a session, inspect the current day and claim it if the interface requires a button press.

Login calendars can be affected by consecutive-day rules, missed days or a server-side date. Use the calendar’s own indicator for the current day. If the reward is not immediately visible, check a mailbox or reward history before attempting to claim it again.

Original ASTD: routes named in available game information

For the original ASTD, the identified non-code routes are tasks, Story Mode, Infinite Mode, Tower Mode and daily rewards. Because these systems can change independently of ASTD X, confirm the current payout text in each menu.

Story Mode stage clears

Open Story Mode and inspect the stage-selection panel for a gem icon, a first-clear reward or a task that counts story completions. If the stage offers no visible gem or task progress, replaying it may not help your current objective.

Use a stage your team can finish without repeated retries. A stable clear lets you test the actual reward: record your balance, finish the stage, wait for the results screen and check the task panel. This approach avoids treating an old community list as a current payout schedule.

Infinite Mode

Infinite Mode is an endless-wave activity. Search results also connect it with damage-task rewards in the original game. Before entering, read both the mode’s reward information and your active damage objectives.

1. Open Infinite Mode and read the current entry and reward text.
2. Open the task panel in the same session and identify any damage objective that names Infinite Mode.
3. Play until the reward condition, wave target or task requirement shown in the client is met.
4. End the run through the normal results flow rather than closing the game abruptly.
5. Check both the mode reward screen and the task panel for separate claims.

Do not quote an Infinite Mode gem chart unless it is displayed by your current client. The available information does not verify a current wave-by-wave schedule or the conditions attached to one.

Tower Mode

Tower Mode appears in original ASTD search results as a possible gem route. Open its lobby panel and determine whether the current version pays gems directly, advances a task or grants a different reward that can be claimed elsewhere.

Check unlock requirements before planning a session. If Tower Mode is locked, use the requirement itself as your next objective rather than assuming that a locked mode is the fastest route.

Tasks and daily rewards

Original ASTD may present tasks or daily rewards in a separate menu from the modes. Read the objective text and claim controls each time you log in. A task can be repeatable, one-time or tied to a particular event; the interface should be treated as the authority for that distinction.

How to choose the best route for your account

There is no verified, version-independent “best” method. Choose using four measurements that you can collect from the live game.

A simple personal comparison

1. Choose two routes that your account can access.
2. Write down the starting gem balance and the time on your device.
3. Complete one full reward cycle for the first route, including all claim screens.
4. Record the ending balance, elapsed time and any task progress.
5. Repeat for the second route under similar conditions.
6. Keep the route that fits your goal: fastest immediate gems, easiest daily completion or progress toward a larger unlock.

This is an account-specific comparison, not a permanent ranking. A balance change can also include a login, level or task reward that became claimable during the session, so note every source shown by the game.

Daily routine that avoids missed gems

A short checklist is more dependable than repeating one mode blindly.

1. Open the daily login or reward calendar and claim today’s item.
2. Read every active task and mark objectives that overlap with your planned stage or mode.
3. Check whether a level-up reward is waiting at the Grand Elder in ASTD X.
4. Inspect the AFK Portal in ASTD X and start or collect its displayed reward when eligible.

Troubleshooting when gems or progress do not appear

The reward preview is missing

Confirm that you selected the correct version and mode. Some activities may award a task item rather than direct gems. Read the task panel and results screen instead of assuming that every completion pays gems.

The task shows complete but cannot be collected

Look for a separate claim button, change to another tab and reopen the menu. If the task list has refreshed, check reward history or a mailbox. A server hop can also refresh a stale interface, but record your balance first so you can tell whether the reward was already granted.

Damage is not counting

Verify that the objective names the mode you are playing and that the damage type or target requirement matches. In original ASTD, the available information only associates some Infinite Mode activity with damage tasks; it does not prove that all damage in every mode qualifies.

AFK Portal time is not advancing

Read the portal’s requirement message for an unlock, active-session rule, cap or pause condition. Re-enter the portal and confirm that the timer changes before leaving. If the server disconnects, the session may not be recorded.

A level-up reward is absent

In ASTD X, visit the Grand Elder and check whether the reward is already marked claimed. Confirm that your level was saved and that you are interacting with the correct character prompt.

The daily reward changed or disappeared

Use the calendar’s displayed date and streak indicator. Daily systems can follow server time rather than your local clock, and a missed day may alter the sequence. Do not use an old reset-time claim when the current interface shows a different schedule.

What “without codes” excludes

This guide intentionally focuses on play-based and login-based earning. Code redemption and market purchases are separate systems listed in game information for ASTD X and are not part of a no-code routine. Spending currency or buying a package does not answer the question of earning more gems through gameplay.

How to stay current when the game updates

Reward tables and menu labels can change after updates. Treat the live client as the final check:

• Read the reward preview immediately before starting a run.
• Capture the task wording mentally or in your own notes, including any mode or level restriction.
• Verify the gem counter after the result and after every manual claim.
• Recheck daily panels after an update or when a reset behaves differently.
• Ignore guides that quote exact amounts without identifying the version and date.

Community wikis can help you locate a menu, but a snippet or old chart is not proof of the current reward schedule. When the client and an external page disagree, follow the client and report the discrepancy through the game’s normal support or community channel.

Identify ASTD or ASTD X first, then complete the non-code routes that your own menus currently show. ASTD X lists stage clears, AFK Portal time, daily challenges or tasks, Grand Elder level-up claims and daily login rewards. Original ASTD information points to tasks, Story Mode, Infinite Mode, Tower Mode and daily rewards, with some Infinite Mode play potentially advancing damage tasks. Because current amounts, reset times and efficiency rankings are not reliably established, verify every payout in the live game and claim rewards before leaving the session.
