You don’t need to copy purchased Kindle books to the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro with a cable. Open the Kindle app, sign in to the Amazon account that owns the books, and download the titles from your Library. Amazon announced the model as the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro; Kindle is included on the new Alexa Tablets. Amazon’s announcement describes the device and its reading features.
Get your Kindle books on the tablet
-
Connect the tablet to Wi-Fi, then open the Kindle app. Amazon says Kindle is built into its new Alexa Tablets. If you need to install the Android app, Amazon’s instructions say to search for “Kindle” in an Android app store and select Install; those instructions specify Android 10.0 or higher. See Amazon’s Kindle app installation instructions.
-
Sign in with the Amazon account used to buy the Kindle books. Purchases are associated with that account’s Kindle library, so a different account can make the books appear to be missing.

Open the Kindle Library, locate a title, and download it in the app to read it on the tablet. The exact download control can vary by app version, so use the control shown with the book rather than relying on a model-specific button sequence.

What “transfer” means for Kindle purchases
For books bought from the Kindle Store, “transfer” usually means accessing the account’s library and downloading a title to the app—not copying an ebook file from another device by USB. Amazon’s Kindle sync and content-delivery guidance covers library access and sending content to registered devices: Kindle Sync and missing Kindle content. Documents sent to Kindle use a separate workflow; they are not the same as a Kindle Store purchase.
Refresh the library if a book is missing
Sync the app
Make sure the tablet is online. In the Kindle mobile app, Amazon documents the manual refresh path as More > Sync now. Sync can update the library and keep reading position, notes, and highlights aligned across apps and devices linked to the account. Amazon’s sync guidance requires an internet connection.

Reading features on the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro
Amazon says Kindle reading mode can silence notifications, reduce blue light, and offer three display themes. Its announcement claims up to 20 hours of battery life in that mode; this is Amazon’s published claim, not an independent test. Amazon also says the 12 Pro’s optional Nanomatte display configuration supports Kindle highlights, underlines, notes, and markups made with the Pro Pen. The pen is optional and is not needed to download or read books. Kevin Keith, Amazon’s Vice President of Devices, described the experience as one where readers can “open a book in the Kindle app and the device transforms into a distraction-free reading sanctuary.” Read Amazon’s announcement.
