Open Pumpkin chests first. In Fortnite Battle Royale update v42.40, released October 15, 2026, Honey Sprite is reported as seasonal Fortnitemares loot. Search Pumpkin chests during the event, then check ordinary chests, smashed Pumpkins and any eligible Cheat Code. There is no published permanent map coordinate or guaranteed drop-rate percentage.
What Honey Sprite is and when it arrived
Honey Sprite was reported added with Fortnite Battle Royale v42.40 on October 15, 2026, as part of Fortnitemares 2026. Epic’s v42.40 update listing describes the patch as adding “New loot to hack, new Sprites to befriend, Power Hours this weekend, and another round of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.”
Epic’s Fortnitemares announcement, dated October 1, 2026, covers Battle Royale, Horde Rush and Reload, along with the Nightmare Neighborhood and seasonal outfits and accessories. Honey Sprite acquisition described here applies to the current Battle Royale seasonal-loot reports; event loot can change when Fortnite updates or rotates content.
Best way to find Honey Sprite
1. Prioritize Pumpkin chests
Pumpkin chests are the strongest currently reported route. Land where you can reach several chests quickly, open every Pumpkin chest you find, and keep moving rather than spending an entire match searching one building. The chest must be available as part of the active Fortnitemares content.

2. Search ordinary chests
Regular chests are a secondary source. Open them while following your normal rotation, especially in areas with high loot density. A match without Honey Sprite does not establish that the item has been removed; chest contents are variable and seasonal.
3. Smash Pumpkin objects
Destroy Pumpkin world objects and inspect the loot they release. This is a world-object route rather than a chest route, so it works best when Pumpkins are already along your path. Do not assume every Pumpkin contains a Sprite.

4. Check eligible Cheat Codes
If the event makes a relevant in-game Cheat Code available, use it as an additional method. Codes are conditional on the current event rules and availability; a code-based route should not be treated as permanent or guaranteed.

How to run an efficient search
- Queue into the mode where Fortnitemares seasonal loot is active, then choose a landing area with multiple buildings and chest spawns.
- Open Pumpkin chests before detouring for low-density loot. Mark nearby chests so teammates can split the search.
- Open ordinary chests as you rotate and smash Pumpkins that are directly on the route.
- If an eligible Cheat Code is shown in the current event, follow its in-game instructions and verify whether it affects Honey Sprite acquisition.
- If the Sprite does not appear, finish or leave the match and repeat the route. One unsuccessful match is not evidence of removal.
What Honey Sprite does
Honey Sprite gives you a chance to spawn bees at the location where your ranged-weapon shot hits after you deal damage. The effect is chance-based: the available reporting does not provide a numeric probability, so there is no reliable percentage to use when planning around it.

Because the trigger depends on ranged damage, test it with a ranged weapon against a valid target and watch the impact location. A missed shot, a non-ranged attack or a hit that does not deal damage should not be expected to trigger the effect.
Why you may not find it
- Fortnitemares is not active in your playlist: seasonal loot pools can disappear or change after an update or event rotation.
- You searched only one source: Pumpkin chests are the priority, but ordinary chests and smashed Pumpkins are separate checks.
- You expected a fixed point: no authoritative permanent POI coordinate has been established.
- You expected every chest to contain it: the Sprite has a chance to spawn, and no published drop-rate percentage is available.
- You relied on an old guide: verify the live patch and event state because Fortnite’s loot is dynamic.
What is and is not confirmed
The current, supportable conclusion is that Pumpkin chests are the best reported way to get Honey Sprite during Fortnitemares 2026, with ordinary chests, smashed Pumpkins and eligible Cheat Codes as additional possibilities. The sources do not establish a permanent guaranteed location, a universal chest type that always contains it, or an exact drop-rate percentage. Treat map routes and code instructions as temporary if Epic changes the event.
