If the per-egg chance were exactly 0.5%, it would still not guarantee an Inverted chicken after 200 eggs. Each hatch is an attempt, not a promised countdown to a result. Bloxodes makes this distinction explicit; NerdsChalk likewise advises repeated hatching and inspection rather than implying a fixed attempt count.

How can you spot an Inverted chicken?
NerdsChalk describes a light-blue mutation indicator in the inventory. This is a guide’s description of the interface, not a directly verified view of the current game, so check what your version actually displays.
- After each hatch, open your inventory and inspect the new chicken for the reported light-blue marker.
- Confirm the mutation before selling, deleting, or selecting the chicken for fusion.
- If the marker is missing or unclear, pause rather than treating the chicken as a confirmed Inverted carrier.

A mutation bonus alone does not establish that a chicken is your best fighter. NerdsChalk advises considering the individual chicken’s attributes and build; compare those with the role you want it to fill before investing in it as your main fighter.
Can fusion transfer the Inverted mutation?
Community guides describe fusion as a possible way to transfer a mutation, but they do not establish a dependable current rate or guarantee. AllThingsHow reports a ceiling of up to 50% when rarities match and lower chances as the rarity gap grows. That is a secondary guide claim, not settled live behavior.

Other coverage describes player reports after HOTFIX 1.1, dated Aug. 15, 2026 by the Grow a Chicken Fighter Wiki, as variable. The exact current transfer chance is not officially published in the available sources, and claims that two Inverted chickens guarantee the mutation are unverified. Do not choose donors or commit a valuable chicken on the assumption that any of those claims guarantees the result.
What to check before you fuse
- Which chicken is the intended base, and which one is the donor?
- Do their rarities match, and what does the live Fuse preview show?
- Which mutation or trait are you trying to retain?
- What would you lose if the donor does not transfer its mutation?
Pause at the in-game Fuse preview and proceed only if the displayed result is acceptable to you. The preview is a prudent decision point, not proof that it reveals hidden odds. Avoid risking your only valuable Inverted chicken based on a reported percentage, matching rarities, or a two-Inverted guarantee.
