To get a Sprite in Fortnite Override, find a hidden Cheat Code on the Island, interact with it, then enter the code shown in-game to free a Sprite ally. Epic’s current notes do not identify a code, location, time, or chance that guarantees the Killswitch Sprite, so treat this as the general Sprite route—not a guaranteed Killswitch spawn.
What the Killswitch Sprite does
Epic describes Killswitch as letting you “Enter Hangtime with improved accuracy.” The official description does not quantify the accuracy increase or specify additional conditions for the effect. Epic’s v42.00 update notes provide the stated ability.
How to look for a Sprite in Override
- Enter a match and search the Island for a hidden Cheat Code. Epic says codes can be tucked into a point of interest or sprayed on a wall.
- Interact with the Cheat Code when you find it.
- Enter the code using the on-screen prompt to free a Sprite ally.
This is the season-wide method Epic documents. Its notes do not say which code yields Killswitch, or give a Killswitch-specific map, timing condition, or odds. Follow what the live game displays, and do not assume a particular POI or wall will produce this Sprite.

Is there a guaranteed Killswitch spawn?
No guaranteed Killswitch-specific spawn has been established in Epic’s reviewed official notes. A fan page claims Killswitch appears only at night and comes from Sprite Chests, but its drop-rate fields show “null,” and the claims do not match Epic’s documented Cheat Code mechanic. That page does not establish a dependable location, time, or probability.

Accordingly, use the in-match Cheat Code route to search for Sprites, but regard Killswitch as an uncertain encounter. The exact condition that makes Killswitch appear remains unconfirmed in the official information available for this season.
Does the Killswitch route work in Ranked?
Epic’s v42.00 notes say Sprites were vaulted in Ranked Battle Royale in an update dated August 28, 2026. That is a dated playlist change, not a promise about every later patch. Check the current Ranked rules and available items in-game before planning around Sprites.

How Sprite Garden and mastery fit in
Override adds broader Sprite systems, but they do not guarantee a Killswitch encounter. Epic says previously collected Season 3 Sprites appear in Sprite Garden, while Sprite Dust can be spent on Loot Hacks that customize chest drops. Those are separate from the Cheat Code method for freeing a Sprite.
Epic’s v42.10 notes also describe Sprite Mastery progression, reduced Sprite Dust costs to resummon a mastered Sprite, and Sprite XP from extracting a duplicate. These are patch-specific mechanics and may change; they concern progression and resummoning rather than where Killswitch first appears.
