Check your PC against the official requirements

They are compatibility reference points, not independent performance test results: meeting the minimum does not guarantee a particular frame rate.

Compare the actual component model and memory capacity in your PC with the list, rather than relying on a broad label such as “gaming computer.” For Intel Arc A580, the listed minimum explicitly requires Resizable BAR to be enabled. The requirements do not specify a guaranteed resolution, graphics preset, or FPS target.
The minimum and recommended columns are not two promised performance tiers. They tell you which components PLAION lists for each category; they do not say what frame rate a particular PC should produce in every scene or at a chosen resolution. If Bloodlines 2 will not launch or hangs at startup
Paradox’s October 22, 2025 known-issues guidance identifies failure to launch and a stuck starting screen, and suggests trying administrator mode. Its October 21, 2025 launch FAQ also mentioned running Steam, the dowser launcher, and the game executable as administrator as a possible workaround for crashes or freezes. Treat this as a reversible test, not a guaranteed fix.

The official guidance does not say administrator mode is required for all players, nor that it resolves every launch failure. Its value is as a limited test for the documented startup/crash branch. If the game starts but later crashes during a repeatable activity, do not assume the startup workaround addresses that separate symptom.

Check the administrator-mode exception before using it
Patch 1.0.4, dated November 12, 2025, documents a specific freeze after character selection with an “Out of Memory” error. It could occur when the game was run as administrator on Windows under a username containing a space.
- If your Windows username contains a space and administrator mode triggers that exact post-character-selection freeze, test the game without administrator mode.
- Do not treat the error text alone as proof that your PC has run out of physical memory; the patch notes tie this particular case to the administrator-mode and username combination.
- If the same freeze continues without administrator mode, report the reproducible steps through Paradox support so the issue can be assessed in its actual context.
This exception makes the administrator suggestion conditional: the same mode that Paradox suggested as a possible workaround for some launch or crash problems was also associated with this particular freeze under a stated account-name condition. Compare the exact circumstances. A username containing a space alone does not establish that this issue is happening; the documented scenario also involves administrator mode and a freeze after character selection with the error message.
Patch 1.0.4 also fixed a separate issue in which progress might not save when returning to the main menu or quitting. That is a reminder that some failures are game bugs addressed by updates, rather than problems a player can solve by changing hardware.
If the game stutters or has low FPS
The official Steam announcements index excerpt identifies two specific performance scenarios: missing PSO shader caches on NVIDIA and AMD cards, linked to stuttering and low frame rates; and VRAM exceeding available capacity on 8 GB GPUs during Vampiric Sprint, linked to heavy FPS drops. Sharp FPS drops during Vampiric Sprint on an 8 GB GPU
If performance drops sharply during Vampiric Sprint and your GPU has 8 GB of VRAM, compare the symptom with the documented VRAM-over-capacity scenario. The issue description is specifically about 8 GB GPUs during that activity; it does not establish that all 8 GB cards will experience the drop or that the same cause explains low FPS elsewhere. If the game crashes during a particular activity or location
The official announcement index excerpt also identifies a Police Station traversal crash and says performance improvements were made across platforms.
