Start by separating a failed touch sensor from a camera-preview, orientation, or app-compatibility problem. Restart the Acer Sospiro A70, clean and dry the 1.88-inch rear panel, remove anything covering it, then test the stock rear-camera viewfinder and a notification or call. If those built-in functions work but one downloaded app does not, the panel is probably operating and the app is the likely incompatibility. If the rear display remains blank or untouchable across its built-in functions, collect the phone’s serial number, SNID, or part number and contact Acer support for region-specific service.
What the A70’s second display is designed to do
Acer Mobile LATAM describes the Sospiro A70 as having a 1.88-inch color TFT panel beside the rear cameras. Its stated purpose is to help you frame selfies with the 64 MP main camera. The same product information lists the panel at 240 × 284 pixels and identifies Android 16, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and microSDXC expansion up to 1 TB. Notebookcheck likewise reports a 5,000 mAh battery and says the small display can show the time, incoming messages and calls, and a viewfinder image for the 64 MP camera. GSMchoice lists touchscreen support for the secondary color TFT.
Those descriptions establish a camera and notification accessory, not a second full-size Android desktop. Acer has not published a public rear-display calibration procedure, a documented rotation-lock menu, or a repair guide for this model in the material currently available. That distinction matters: a normal Android app may not know how to draw on a narrow 240 × 284 panel, and an undocumented setting path should not be guessed.

Identify the failure before changing settings
Do not begin by searching for a rotation switch or installing a replacement part. First record exactly which function fails. Keep the phone unlocked, open the stock Camera app, switch to the rear camera, and look for the live preview on the small panel. Then trigger a known notification or place a test call so you can check the information view.

Fix touch that does not work on the rear display
1. Restart the phone completely
Press and hold the power button, choose the on-screen restart command, and wait until Android has finished booting. A restart reloads the camera, notification, and display services without deleting your data. Test the rear-camera preview before opening any downloaded app. If the panel responds after the restart, note whether the problem returns after a particular app or accessory is used.
2. Clean and dry the touch surface
Power the phone down or lock it, then wipe the small rear panel with a soft, lint-free cloth. Remove fingerprints, moisture, sunscreen, and condensation. Do not pour cleaner onto the phone, press hard around the camera module, or use a sharp object to probe the edge. A damp or contaminated surface can make taps appear intermittent even when the touch layer is intact.
3. Remove anything that can overlap the panel
Take off the protective case and any adhesive film, skin, or camera-module protector that reaches toward the 1.88-inch display. Some accessories leave only a narrow opening; a lip can block taps at the edge or press against the panel. Test with the phone bare. If touch returns, refit the accessory only if its opening leaves the entire display and touch area clear.

Open the stock Camera app, select the rear camera, and try simple taps on the viewfinder or its documented controls. Also check whether the time, message, or call view appears when an event occurs. These tests are more informative than tapping inside a downloaded app because Acer and Notebookcheck specifically document these rear-display roles.

5. Install available system and app updates
On Android 16, look for the system update control under a path similar to Settings > System > Software update; wording can vary by carrier or region. In Google Play, open your account menu, choose Manage apps & device, and update the Camera app and the app that exposed the fault. Restart after updates and run the same bare-phone test. Do not assume an update exists: if Android reports that the software is current, continue with the isolation steps.
6. Decide whether the fault is intermittent or complete
Test several points across the panel, including the center and each corner, without rapidly repeating taps. A dead strip, random touches, or a panel that works only when pressure is applied suggests a physical or touch-layer problem rather than an app menu issue. Do not attempt an unverified calibration code or third-party “touch fixer”; Acer has not published a calibration workflow for the A70, and such utilities can add another variable without repairing damaged hardware.
Fix a rear image that is rotated or upside down
Check whether the error is global or limited to one view
Open the stock Camera app and switch between the front and rear cameras. Compare the rear-display image with the same preview on the main screen. Then check a notification or call view. If only one downloaded app is rotated while the stock preview is correct, treat that as an app problem. If every rear-display function is inverted, record that fact as a system-level symptom.
Restart before changing orientation settings
Restart the A70 and repeat the camera test. The public Acer material does not document a rear-display rotation lock, orientation menu, or calibration control, so avoid instructions that claim a specific A70 setting path. The normal Android quick-settings auto-rotate control may affect the main display but is not confirmed to control this dedicated rear panel.

Update the operating system and affected app
Install any available Android and Camera updates, then restart. If the inversion occurs only in one application, update that application from Google Play. A narrow accessory display may require special layout and orientation handling; an app designed only for a conventional full-size screen can place content sideways or upside down. This is a reasoned compatibility diagnosis, not a published Acer guarantee about any particular app.
Capture useful evidence for support
Write down whether the rear-camera preview, notifications, and calls are all affected; whether the primary display shows the correct orientation; and whether the problem began after an update or accessory change. A photograph of the inverted panel taken with another phone can help support staff understand the symptom. Do not factory-reset the phone solely to search for an undocumented rotation option; first preserve your data and complete the less destructive tests.
Fix an app that will not show or respond on the second display
Use the stock functions as the control test
If the rear-camera viewfinder and notification view respond normally, the panel itself is not proven dead. Acer’s published feature description centers on those functions, and the available specifications do not establish that arbitrary Android apps can run as full interfaces on the rear screen. An app that assumes a standard phone display may therefore fail to open, show clipped controls, ignore taps, or display an incorrect orientation.

Open Settings > Apps, select the affected app, tap Force stop, confirm, and launch it again. You can also dismiss it from the recent-apps view before reopening it. Compare the result with the stock Camera app rather than with another third-party app, because the Camera app is the documented rear-display workload.

Update the app, then clear only its cache
Install the latest version from Google Play. If the problem remains, use Settings > Apps > [app] > Storage & cache > Clear cache, where the exact wording may differ. Clearing cache removes temporary files; it normally does not erase the account or saved content. Do not choose Clear storage unless you understand that it can reset the app and remove locally stored data.
Compare behavior after removing overlays
Close floating windows, screen filters, remote-control tools, and any accessory software that might draw over Android. Temporarily remove the physical case and film as well. If the app works on the main display but not on the rear panel while all built-in rear functions work, report the app name and version to its developer; the limitation may be that the app does not support this secondary form factor.

The Sospiro A70’s rear panel is integrated into the phone. It is not a separate monitor that you repair with an HDMI, USB-C, or wireless-display cable. Disconnecting cables or changing desktop display modes cannot directly restore this self-contained rear screen. Microsoft’s general display troubleshooting guidance supports the broader practice of removing accessories, checking connections, and updating software when a display path is unstable, but those steps are general context rather than A70-specific repair instructions.

Do not open the handset to reseat an internal cable unless Acer or an authorized technician provides a procedure; opening it can affect warranty coverage and may damage the camera assembly.

When the problem needs Acer support
Escalate when the rear display stays blank, remains completely untouchable, or shows persistent orientation errors after a restart, accessory removal, and available updates. Escalation is also appropriate when the main camera preview fails, the panel has visible cracks or liquid damage, or the fault returns immediately after every restart.
Acer’s support portal asks for a serial number, SNID, or part number so it can locate the correct manuals, drivers, warranty information, and repair options. Have the following ready:
- The exact model name: Acer Sospiro A70.
- The serial number, SNID, or part number shown on the phone, packaging, or purchase record.
- Your country or sales region, because manuals, firmware, and warranty routes can differ.
- Android version and the date the problem began.
- Whether the stock rear-camera preview, time, messages, and calls work.
- Whether touch is completely dead, limited to a strip, or intermittent.
- Whether the main display’s camera preview is also affected.
- Any recent drop, liquid exposure, case change, or software update.
Ask support to confirm whether an official A70 manual or firmware package exists for your region before installing files obtained elsewhere. The available product descriptions do not verify an official replacement-display listing or parts catalog, so a third-party panel should not be assumed to fit, preserve touch, or retain warranty coverage.

Repair or replacement: a practical decision framework
Do not decide on a display replacement from the symptom alone. A panel that works in the stock Camera app but not in one application is not evidence of failed hardware. Conversely, a panel that is blank and unresponsive everywhere after software isolation may justify a professional inspection.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every Android app must appear on the rear panel: Acer documents camera framing and basic information views, not a general second home screen.
- Searching indefinitely for a hidden rotation lock: no public A70 rotation setting or calibration procedure is documented; isolate the affected function and update the software instead.
- Blaming storage: the phone’s up-to-1-TB microSDXC capability is useful for files, but additional storage cannot repair touch, orientation, or app rendering.
- Testing through a case: a narrow bezel or camera protector can overlap this small panel and create false touch failures.
- Using a factory reset as a first step: restart, clean, remove accessories, update, and test built-in functions before considering destructive troubleshooting.
- Installing unverified firmware or calibration tools: use only software and instructions supplied for your exact region and model by Acer or an authorized service provider.
A concise diagnostic sequence
- Lock or restart the A70, then open the stock Camera app and select the rear camera.
- Check the rear preview, time, and a test notification or call.
- Clean and dry the panel; remove the case, film, and camera protector.
- Repeat the built-in tests with no accessory touching the display.
- Install available Android and app updates, then restart again.
- If only one app fails, force-stop it, update it, and clear its cache.
- If every rear-display function remains blank, unresponsive, or inverted, document the symptoms and contact Acer with the serial number, SNID, or part number.
