If Stream Deck will not open on Windows 11, first confirm your PC meets Elgato’s requirements and get the installer from Elgato’s official software page. Windows 11 is supported, but Elgato warns that the app may not work as expected on Windows on ARM. No single verified cause or universal fix is established for this launch problem, so use the checks below to narrow it down without treating a general troubleshooting step as a guaranteed fix.
1. Check whether your PC meets Elgato’s requirements
Elgato’s Stream Deck system requirements, updated June 25, 2026, specify 64-bit Windows 11 and an Intel or AMD processor. The page cautions that Windows on ARM may not work as expected. If your device uses an ARM processor, that compatibility warning is relevant; it does not establish that every ARM-based PC will fail to launch Stream Deck.
Elgato’s broader Windows 10 and Windows 11 support guidance, updated September 18, 2026, says many Elgato applications raised their minimum Windows requirements to Windows 11 in 2025. It also says full functionality is not guaranteed on Windows 10. That is general guidance for many Elgato apps, not a Stream Deck-specific announcement that every release ended Windows 10 support.
2. Get the current installer from Elgato
Download Stream Deck through Elgato’s official downloads page, rather than using an installer from an unfamiliar third-party site. Elgato says older software versions are available separately, but the material here does not establish the current release number. Check the download page for the version currently offered, and do not assume an older release is the right fix for a launch failure.

3. Try basic checks to identify what is failing
The following are general diagnostic suggestions, not fixes Elgato has specifically confirmed for this Windows 11 launch symptom:
- Restart Windows. Save your work, restart the PC, then try opening Stream Deck again.
- Check for a process that stayed open. Open Task Manager and look for a Stream Deck process. If one remains after the app window has failed to appear, end that process, then try launching the app again. If no process is listed, this check does not identify the cause.
- Reinstall from Elgato’s official installer. If the app still will not open, use the installer from Elgato’s download page. Follow the installer’s prompts, then test the app again.
Do not disable antivirus or firewall protection as a routine step: the available official information does not identify either as the cause of this launch problem or establish that turning protection off is a safe fix.

4. Match the symptom to the release notes
Elgato’s older release notes document two specific issues. They may help you recognize a matching symptom, but they do not prove that either issue explains a new launch failure.

5. Contact Elgato if the app still will not launch
If the compatibility check and official-installer route do not resolve the problem, contact Elgato Support. Include details that can help support distinguish a compatibility issue, an installer problem, and an app process that starts without displaying a window:
