If your Skyborne purchase is not appearing, first verify that you bought the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition on the same World of Warcraft account you are using. That entitlement unlocks the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle starting experience, but you still need an active WoW subscription or game time. Advertised beta access is a separate edition benefit: it is included with the Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection, then must be launched through the dedicated “World of Warcraft: Forever Beta” entry in the Battle.net desktop app.
Most apparent failures come from one of four causes: the wrong edition, a different WoW account under the same Battle.net login, selecting the live game instead of the beta client, or trying to use a feature outside its announced date window. The checks below separate those causes before you contact support.
Start with the symptom you are seeing
Use this first-pass diagnosis before reinstalling the game or buying another pack. Each symptom points to a different entitlement or timing check.

| What you see | Most likely explanation | First action |
|---|---|---|
| Skyborne is unavailable in character creation | The WoW account does not have the Heroic Pack or higher, or you are signed into a different WoW account. | Confirm the purchased edition and the exact WoW account attached to the purchase. |
| The beta is missing from Battle.net | The edition does not include beta access, or the beta license is not attached to the selected WoW account. | Choose “World of Warcraft: Forever Beta” under “In Development” and inspect “Your Game Accounts.” |
| You can see a purchase but cannot start the game yet | You may be attempting access before the announced launch or reservation window. | Match the feature to its published date: Early Name Reservation is October 27–November 3, 2026; launch is November 4, 2026. |
| Mage or Shaman is locked for Skyborne | The class is faction-specific for Skyborne characters. | Check the faction and Skyborne identity shown at character creation. |
| A reserved name appears on another WoW account | Early Name Reservation is tied to the specific WoW account used for the purchase. | Sign into that exact WoW account; do not assume the reservation is shared across accounts. |
What each edition actually unlocks
Blizzard defines the minimum race entitlement clearly: “Access to Skyborne Race or the Zephras Isle starting experience questline requires purchase of Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher edition.” A subscription or game time is still required to play. The Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection add beta access, so owning the Heroic Pack alone should not be treated as a beta entitlement.

| Edition | Skyborne race | Zephras Isle starting experience | Advertised beta access | Included game time and credit date | Early Name Reservation | Other benefits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skyborne Heroic Pack | Yes | Yes | Not stated as included | Not stated | Not stated in the available product details | Additional cosmetic, mount, pet, housing, or Warcraft III benefits are not stated here. |
| Skyborne Epic Pack | Yes | Yes | Yes | 30 days of game time; credited beginning November 4, 2026 | Not stated in the available product details | Specific extra cosmetic, mount, pet, housing, or Warcraft III benefits are not stated here. |
| Warcraft Forever Collection | Yes, because it is a higher edition | Yes | Yes | Not stated | Not stated in the available product details | Specific extra cosmetic, mount, pet, housing, or Warcraft III benefits are not stated here. |
The table separates two questions that are often conflated. The Heroic threshold answers “Can I use the Skyborne race and its starting experience?” The Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection answers “Do I have the advertised beta access?” A purchase that satisfies the first question does not automatically satisfy the second.
Verify the purchase and the WoW account
1. Identify the exact edition
Open your order history or purchase confirmation and record the product name exactly as shown. “Skyborne Heroic Pack,” “Skyborne Epic Pack,” and “Warcraft Forever Collection” are not interchangeable labels. If the confirmation names a different product, do not assume it carries either the Skyborne entitlement or the beta license.
A lower or different purchase cannot be assumed to unlock the beta. If you bought Heroic and are trying to open the beta, the missing entry may be an edition limitation rather than a failed activation. If you bought Epic or the Collection and the beta is still absent, continue with the account and client checks instead of purchasing again.
2. Check every WoW account under the Battle.net login
Entitlements apply to the WoW account used for the purchase. A single Battle.net login can have more than one WoW account, and selecting the wrong one can make a valid transaction appear missing. Compare the WoW account identifier in the purchase record with the account selected in the game launcher and account-management screens.
This account-specific rule also applies to Early Name Reservation. Blizzard specifies that the reservation is limited to the particular WoW account on which it was purchased. It is not a pool that automatically follows every WoW account under the same Battle.net login.

3. Allow for account-state updates
After confirming the edition and account, sign out of the Battle.net desktop app, close it completely, reopen it, and sign back in with the purchasing Battle.net credentials. This refreshes the launcher’s account state without changing ownership. Do not create a second purchase while the original transaction is still being checked; duplicate purchases make it harder to identify which account received the entitlement.
Activate and launch the beta correctly
Beta access is not activated by selecting the ordinary World of Warcraft game entry. Blizzard’s instructions require the dedicated beta product and a beta license attached to the correct account.
- Open the Battle.net desktop app.
- Select World of Warcraft in the game list.
- Open the Game Version drop-down.
- Under In Development, choose World of Warcraft: Forever Beta.
- Check the account area labeled Your Game Accounts.
- Confirm that a beta license is attached to the same WoW account used for the Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection purchase.
- Only after the beta entry and license appear, install or launch the beta client from that entry.
If “World of Warcraft: Forever Beta” is not listed, first recheck the edition. Epic and the Warcraft Forever Collection are the editions identified as including beta access. If you own one of them, verify that the selected WoW account is the purchasing account and restart the Battle.net app once more. A missing license after those checks is an account-entitlement issue to document for support, not a reason to repeatedly reinstall the live client.
Separate launch dates from activation failures
WoW: Forever is scheduled to launch on November 4, 2026. Early Name Reservation is scheduled for October 27 through November 3, 2026. Attempting normal launch access before November 4 can therefore produce a date-related limitation even when the purchase is valid.
Use the date window that matches the feature:
- Before October 27: Early Name Reservation is not yet in its announced window.
- October 27–November 3: The reservation window is open for eligible accounts; this does not mean the full game has launched.
- November 4 onward: The announced WoW: Forever launch date begins normal access, subject to the required subscription or game time and the edition entitlement.
The Epic Pack’s 30 days of game time begin crediting on November 4, 2026. That date is separate from the date of purchase, so buying Epic earlier does not mean the 30 days are immediately available before the stated credit date.

Fix a Skyborne race that is missing from character creation
Confirm the minimum entitlement
Character creation requires the Heroic Pack or a higher edition. If your account has only a product that does not meet that threshold, the Skyborne option will not appear. If your edition does meet it, verify that the character-creation screen is using the same WoW account that received the purchase.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCheck the faction selection first
Blizzard states: “At character creation, you’ll choose whether your Skyborne joins the Horde or the Alliance.” That choice is not cosmetic. It determines the Skyborne identity presented in the creator and affects which class options are available.
| Faction | Skyborne identity | Faction-specific class highlighted in the available information | Classes available to both factions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Horde | Windshaper | Shaman | Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Warrior |
| Alliance | High-Order Skyborne | Mage | Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Warrior |
The faction-specific identity explains the two most common “locked class” reports. A Skyborne Mage is an Alliance High-Order Skyborne option, while a Skyborne Shaman is a Horde Windshaper option. Switching faction in the creator is the relevant correction; buying a higher pack does not change this character-creation rule.
Why Mage may be locked
If you selected Horde, Mage can appear unavailable because the available Skyborne class pairing for that faction is Windshaper Shaman. Return to the faction step and select Alliance to see the High-Order Skyborne Mage option. If Mage remains unavailable on Alliance, confirm that the race entitlement is active on that WoW account and that you are not in a restricted beta or pre-launch screen that has not yet enabled the class.
Why Shaman may be locked
If you selected Alliance, Shaman can appear unavailable because the available pairing for that faction is High-Order Skyborne Mage. Select Horde to use the Windshaper Shaman option. The shared options—Druid, Hunter, Rogue, and Warrior—should not be confused with the faction-specific pairings.

Resolve Early Name Reservation problems
Early Name Reservation is both time-limited and account-specific. During the announced October 27–November 3 window, use the WoW account that made the reservation purchase. If the name is not visible, check the account identifier before changing the character, faction, or client.
- Confirm that the reservation was purchased on the WoW account currently selected in Battle.net.
- Do not expect the reservation to appear on a second WoW account under the same Battle.net login.
- Check the calendar window; a valid purchase cannot make the feature available before October 27 or after the reservation period ends.
- Keep the original receipt and transaction identifier if the correct account still does not show the reservation.
Remember the subscription or game-time requirement
The pack entitlement and the ability to play are separate. Blizzard’s access statement requires a WoW subscription or game time in addition to the Heroic Pack or higher edition. A valid race purchase therefore does not by itself replace the recurring access requirement.
For Epic owners, the product includes 30 days of game time beginning November 4, 2026. Until that credit date, use whatever subscription or game-time status is already active on the account. For editions where the included game-time amount or credit date is not stated, rely on the purchase terms shown for your transaction rather than assuming the Epic schedule applies.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When reinstalling will not help
Reinstallation cannot add an entitlement to the wrong account, convert Heroic into beta access, or move a name reservation between WoW accounts. It is also unnecessary when the only problem is that the launch date has not arrived. Reinstall only after the correct product entry and license are visible and the launcher reports a client-file problem.
Similarly, buying the pack again is not a diagnostic step. First establish whether the original order is Heroic, Epic, or Collection; identify the receiving WoW account; and check the beta license under “Your Game Accounts.” Those checks distinguish an ownership problem from a launcher display problem without creating a second transaction.

Prepare a useful Blizzard support request
If the entitlement is still absent after the edition, account, client, and date checks, contact Blizzard support with enough information for an account-level investigation. The available product guidance does not establish a universal refund, account-merge, or escalation procedure, and it does not promise a resolution time, so avoid relying on a specific outcome or deadline.
Include:
- The exact edition name shown on the receipt.
- The purchase date and transaction or order number.
- The Battle.net login and the WoW account name or identifier that received the purchase.
- A description of whether the missing item is the Skyborne race, Zephras Isle starting experience, beta license, game-time credit, or Early Name Reservation.
- A screenshot of the Battle.net Game Version menu and the “Your Game Accounts” area, with personal payment details obscured.
- The date and time of the failed attempt, especially if it occurred near the October 27–November 3 reservation window or the November 4 launch.
Do not send payment credentials or passwords. Keep the receipt and any confirmation email available until the case is closed.
Three common scenarios
“I bought Heroic, but I cannot download the beta.”
Heroic meets the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle requirement, but the advertised beta access is associated with Epic and Warcraft Forever Collection. Check the edition name first. If the order is Heroic, the missing beta entry is consistent with the edition benefits rather than proof of a failed race entitlement.
“I bought Epic, but there is no beta entry.”
Select World of Warcraft: Forever Beta from the In Development section, then inspect Your Game Accounts. If the beta license is not attached to the WoW account named in the Epic order, sign out and back in with the purchasing credentials and recheck. If it remains absent, send the transaction and account details to Blizzard support.
“Skyborne is visible, but Mage is unavailable.”
Choose Alliance to create the High-Order Skyborne identity that can be a Mage. Horde uses the Windshaper identity, whose faction-specific option is Shaman. Druid, Hunter, Rogue, and Warrior are available to both factions in the stated character-creation rules.
