If Samsung Now Brief notifications are missing, incomplete, late, or showing incorrect details, work through the checks in this order: enable the required briefing categories, restore notification permissions and categories for the source apps, remove notification filters, check the widget, Edge panel, lock-screen and Now bar surfaces, confirm the wake-up and bedtime schedule, then update and restart the phone. For incorrect information, verify the original Calendar, Weather, Health, traffic or other source app before reporting a reproducible error in Samsung Members.
Now Brief provides personalized briefings from its widget or the Edge panel. Samsung describes content as suggested information and actions that can change during the day. Menu names differ by Galaxy model and One UI version, so use the path that appears on your phone rather than assuming every device has identical labels.
What Samsung Now Brief does and why a notification can disappear
Now Brief assembles a briefing from the content categories you allow and data supplied by Samsung or connected apps. On supported devices running One UI 7, Samsung says the feature is enabled by default, but the categories shown are still controllable from the Galaxy AI settings. A briefing can therefore be absent even when the feature itself is enabled: a category may be off, its source app may not have current data, or the notification may be hidden by a system filter.

Now Brief is not limited to one alert surface. You can reach it through the Now Brief widget or the Edge panel. The related Now bar, where supported apps can provide live notifications, has its own controls. A problem on one surface does not necessarily mean the briefing data is unavailable; first check another supported surface before changing deeper settings.

Samsung Members guidance says Now Brief operates between the wake-up and bedtime recorded in the phone’s sleep information. Timing can vary, so an item may not appear immediately after you change a setting. Treat the schedule as part of the diagnosis rather than assuming every briefing is sent at a fixed clock time.
Identify whether the problem is missing, partial, late or inaccurate

This distinction prevents a permissions problem from being mistaken for an accuracy problem. It also tells you whether to wait for a scheduled update or start checking the underlying data immediately.
Fix missing Samsung Now Brief notifications step by step
1. Turn on the briefing categories you actually want
- Open Settings.
- Tap Galaxy AI, then Now brief.
- Open Content to include and enable each category you expect to receive.
Some Galaxy models place the same controls at Settings > Advanced features > Intelligent features > Now brief. Samsung documents this model-dependent route because One UI releases and device families do not expose identical menus. If neither path is present, use Settings search for “Now brief” and confirm that the phone is a supported model with compatible software.

Turn on only categories whose source data you maintain. For example, enabling a calendar-related category cannot create events that do not exist in the connected calendar. After changing a category, wait for the next briefing period; the feature is scheduled around your registered sleep information rather than guaranteed to issue an instant test notification.
2. Restore notifications for the apps that supply the briefing
- Go to Settings > Notifications.
- Review the list of apps that provide the category you enabled, such as your calendar, weather, health or traffic source.
- Open each relevant app and make sure notifications are allowed.
- Inspect that app’s individual notification categories and enable the category that could carry the briefing information.
Allowing an app at the top level does not always expose every notification category. A disabled category can make one topic disappear while unrelated notifications continue to work. Check the app account and permissions as well, because an app that is signed out or denied required access may have no current information for Now Brief to use.

Samsung’s notification controls also include lock-screen style, sorting and filtering options. Keep a note of which category you changed so you can reverse an experiment without disabling all notifications for the app.
3. Remove filters that hide old, background or minimized notifications
- Open Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings.
- Tap Filter notifications.
- Review the filter choices and any relevant app-category settings.
- Temporarily disable a filter that could be hiding background, old or minimized items, then check the next briefing.
One UI 7 can filter notifications based on how they are classified or how old they are. The result can look like a missing Now Brief alert even though the system received information. Recheck the app’s category after changing the global filter: a category-level setting can still override what you changed in the general notification screen.

4. Check every surface where Now Brief or related live notifications can appear
Now Brief can be opened from its widget or the Edge panel. If you normally look only at the lock screen, add or open the widget or Edge panel and see whether the briefing is present there. This separates a data problem from a presentation problem.
For the related Now bar, use Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Now bar > View more on models that support it. Enable the apps that should provide live notifications. The Now bar is a separate control from the Now Brief content list, so changing one does not automatically change the other.
Review lock-screen notification style and filtering after enabling an app. A briefing that appears after unlocking but not on the lock screen usually points to presentation or filtering rather than an absent data category.

5. Confirm the wake-up and bedtime window
- Check the phone’s registered sleep or sleep-information settings.
- Confirm that the wake-up and bedtime values represent your current routine.
- If you just changed a category or notification permission, wait until the next expected period between those times.
Samsung Members guidance states that Now Brief is active between the registered wake-up time and bedtime, and that notification timing can vary for several reasons. A notification that arrives later within that interval is not necessarily broken. If your schedule is missing or outdated, correct it before troubleshooting app data.
6. Install available software updates and restart
- Open Settings > Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- Install any available update, then restart the phone.
- After the restart, use the exact Galaxy AI, notification and lock-screen paths shown for your model.
One UI 7 and One UI 8 can move or rename Galaxy AI and notification controls. An update can therefore change the route without changing the underlying feature. Record your One UI version before and after updating if you need to report a problem; that detail helps distinguish a menu change from a failed notification.
Why Now Brief shows only some topics
Partial content usually has a narrower cause than a completely empty briefing. Start with the absent topic’s category in Content to include. If it is on, open the app that owns the data and check three things: the account is signed in, the required permission is granted, and the source contains a current item. A calendar category with no upcoming event, for example, may have nothing to present even though the category is enabled.
Then inspect that app’s notification permission and channel. Android notification categories are independent, so one disabled channel can suppress a topic while the app continues to show other alerts. Finally, check notification filtering and the lock-screen surface. This sequence avoids changing unrelated categories that are already working.
What to do when a Now Brief notification is late
Do not treat the expected wake-up time as an exact delivery timestamp. The documented schedule is the interval between wake-up and bedtime, and Samsung Members notes that timing can vary. First verify that you are inside that interval and that the phone’s sleep information is current.

Next, open the relevant source app and check whether its information has refreshed. A stale weather reading, delayed calendar synchronization or unavailable traffic data can postpone a useful briefing even when Now Brief itself is functioning. If the source app updates but the briefing does not, recheck the category, notification channel and filter settings, then allow the next scheduled opportunity after a restart or software update.
Diagnose inaccurate information without guessing
Validate the original source first
Now Brief’s content is assembled from enabled categories and information available to the relevant Samsung or connected apps. As a troubleshooting inference from that design, the first accuracy test should be performed in the underlying source app:
- Calendar: verify the event title, time zone, date and account that owns the event.
- Weather: confirm the selected location and that location access is available where required.
- Health: check that the correct account or profile is active and that the recorded value is current.
- Traffic or travel: confirm the route, location permission and the source app’s latest data.
- Other connected services: check sign-in status, permissions and whether the service itself shows the same value.
This is troubleshooting guidance, not a Samsung accuracy guarantee. If the source app is already wrong, correct it there; changing a Now Brief toggle will not repair the source record. If the source is correct but Now Brief presents a different fact, continue with a reproducible error report.
Capture the details needed for Samsung Members
- Write down the exact phone model.
- Record the installed One UI version.
- Copy the incorrect item as displayed, including the date or time.
- Note when it appeared and which source app showed the correct information.
- Open Samsung Members, submit an error report and attach logs when the app offers that option.
Include whether the problem affects one category or every category, and whether the item is wrong on the widget, Edge panel, lock screen, Now bar or all surfaces. A precise reproduction is more useful than a general statement that the briefing is inaccurate. Samsung Members is the documented route for sending this report and its logs.
Model and One UI differences you should expect
Samsung explicitly cautions that menu names and paths vary by device model and software version. The Galaxy AI path is the preferred route on some phones, while others use Advanced features and Intelligent features. One UI updates can also rename or relocate notification and Galaxy AI controls. The Now bar is available only on supported models and has separate settings from Now Brief.

When a guide path does not match your screen, do not enable an unrelated setting just because its name sounds similar. Use Settings search for “Now brief,” “Filter notifications” or “Now bar,” then compare the result with the model-specific route above. If the feature is not offered at all, confirm that the phone and software are supported before treating the absence as a notification failure.

- Do not assume a missing lock-screen alert proves that Now Brief received no data; check the widget or Edge panel.
- Do not disable every notification for a source app when one category is missing; inspect individual categories first.
- Do not judge a schedule change immediately outside the registered wake-up-to-bedtime interval.
- Do not call information inaccurate until the original Calendar, Weather, Health, traffic or connected app has been checked.
- Do not quote a numerical accuracy rate for Now Brief; Samsung’s official guidance does not publish one.
