Choose Start > Power > Restart, wait for Windows to return to the desktop, and then open Steam again. Compare your configuration with the Steam listing

Check the five details that matter
- Press Windows key + R, type
msinfo32, and press Enter. In System Information, check the Windows edition and System Type; it should report an x64-based PC. - In the same window, note the processor model and installed physical memory.
- Press Windows key + R, type
dxdiag, and press Enter. Use the Display tab to identify the graphics adapter. - Open File Explorer > This PC and confirm that the drive containing ROCKBEASTS has at least 25 GB free. Leave additional working room for Windows and updates rather than filling the drive to capacity.

- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click ROCKBEASTS in the library list and choose Properties.
- Select Installed Files in the Properties window.
- Choose Verify integrity of game files and wait for the process to finish.
- When Steam reports the result, close the Properties window and launch the game from the Library.

Steam advises closing nonessential software when troubleshooting launch problems because overlays, recording tools, hardware monitors, and other programs can interfere with Steam or a game process. Close one category at a time so you can identify a conflict instead of changing everything at once.
A controlled background-software test
- Save work in other applications and close nonessential programs from their normal exit commands.
- Temporarily close game overlays, screen-recording tools, performance-tuning utilities, RGB-control suites, and chat overlays if you use them.
- Leave essential Windows services and your security protection running.

Check quarantine before changing exclusions
- Open the security product you use and go to its Protection history, Quarantine, or similarly named area.
- Look for an event naming ROCKBEASTS or a file from its Steam installation folder.
