Start by identifying whether the Basilisk V4 Pro is connected through HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Bluetooth, or USB cable. Then check whether the problem changes in wired mode, review relevant settings in Synapse, and check Synapse for firmware updates. Razer documents these connection options and settings, but does not publish a model-specific reset or fault-by-fault repair procedure in its current product information. Razer’s Basilisk V4 Pro product page and launch announcement are the official references for its documented features.
First, isolate the problem
The Basilisk V4 Pro supports HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Bluetooth 6.2, and wired use. Razer calls this five-way connectivity; for troubleshooting, the useful distinction is whether the symptom occurs in one connection mode or across more than one.
- Note the current connection mode: HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Bluetooth, or wired.
- If practical, test the mouse in wired mode. If the symptom changes, that helps narrow whether it is limited to a wireless connection path; it does not identify a specific cause.
- Open Synapse and inspect the relevant button mapping or tracking settings.
- Check the Synapse dashboard for a firmware update for the exact Basilisk V4 Pro model.
These are safe checks based on Razer’s documented features and guidance, not guaranteed fixes. Razer announced the Basilisk V4 Pro on October 8, 2026, so model-specific support instructions may change; use the Razer support site for current guidance.
Fix connection problems
HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth, and wired mode
Record which mode you are using and whether the mouse behaves differently in another mode. The result can help describe the fault to support, but Razer’s product FAQ does not provide a specific receiver-recovery or failed-pairing sequence.

Bluetooth pairing
Razer says the mouse can pair with up to three Bluetooth devices. If a Bluetooth connection fails, consult the current support entry for the Basilisk V4 Pro and your region for pairing instructions. Do not apply a pairing utility or button combination meant for an older Basilisk model; a V4 Pro recovery sequence is not established in the available official product guidance.
Fix tracking or cursor problems
Before assuming a sensor fault, check Synapse for settings that could account for the behavior:

- Sensitivity (DPI): Review the active sensitivity and any recent changes. Razer documents one-DPI-step adjustments and a sensitivity matcher.
- Lift-off behavior: The mouse offers Smart Tracking, which Razer describes as automatic calibration for consistent lift-off distance across surfaces, and asymmetric cut-off settings for lift-off and landing distance. Check whether these settings have been changed.
These options explain what can be reviewed; Razer’s product information does not give a V4 Pro tracking reset or surface-specific fault procedure. If the cursor still stops or skips after checking settings, use the model’s support page rather than assuming a setting change will repair a sensor problem.
Fix buttons that behave unexpectedly
Check the active Synapse configuration
Synapse can change button mappings, macros, scroll modes, and Hypershift behavior. The three side buttons default, from left to right, to AI Prompt Master, Mouse Button 5, and Mouse Button 4. A different action may therefore reflect a custom mapping rather than a failed button. Review the active configuration before treating unexpected behavior as a hardware fault.

When a button does not register
If a physical button still fails to register after you check its mapping, Razer’s product material does not establish a model-specific repair procedure. Contact Razer support and check the warranty guidance that applies in your region instead of disassembling the mouse or trying an unverified reset.

Razer recommends keeping the mouse on the latest firmware through the Synapse dashboard. Check Synapse and the exact model’s support page for the current release and any notes; no firmware version or change log is established here.

Contact Razer through its official support site if the issue persists across connection modes, remains after reviewing settings, or involves a button that will not register. Describe the connection mode, what you observed in wired mode, and which settings you checked. Razer’s currently published product information does not establish a V4 Pro reset sequence, pairing recovery steps, known-issue list, or region-specific warranty process.
