Fix a QuickBooks Online bank-feed error by checking the bank first, then running a manual update, and finally following the workflow for the exact code on screen. Do not disconnect the account as a first reaction: errors 324 and 350 can involve account selection or expired authorization, and reconnecting with the wrong account can affect other QuickBooks companies that use the same bank login.
The sequence below covers bank access, inactive accounts, credentials, connection outages, account mapping, authorization renewal, browser diagnostics, and escalation. It applies to QuickBooks Online; the cited error-103 guidance also covers QuickBooks Self-Employed, while the 324 and 350 guidance also covers Intuit Enterprise Suite.
Start with these checks before changing the connection
A bank feed depends on two systems: the bank must permit access and QuickBooks must hold a valid connection to the intended account. Check both sides before you remove or recreate anything.

- Sign in to the bank directly. Open the bank’s own website in a separate browser tab and authenticate there. Look for a security question, a password-expiration request, revised terms, an account alert, a consent screen, or a service notice. If the bank will not let you sign in, resolve that problem with the bank first; repeatedly retrying QuickBooks will not bypass a bank-side block.
- Confirm the account is open and active. Intuit’s Error 101 guidance treats an account as active when it has a balance or transactions within the previous 12 months. An account that the bank has closed, frozen, or left inactive may no longer be available to the feed.
- Request a QuickBooks refresh. In QuickBooks Online, go to All apps → Accounting → Bank transactions, select the affected account, and choose Update. Most banks update transactions with QuickBooks about every 24 hours, but the interval varies by bank, so a manual update requests a refresh rather than guaranteeing that a new transaction appears immediately. - Match the displayed error code to the correct workflow. A private or incognito browser window, another supported browser, and cleared browser data can help identify a session problem. Treat that as a diagnostic step, not a fix for a bank outage, an invalid password, or expired authorization.
Record the bank name, account type, exact code, the last date transactions downloaded, any recent password or account changes, and whether other QuickBooks companies use the same bank credentials. Those details make escalation faster.

Fix Error 101: inactivity or a required bank prompt
Error 101 has several possible causes. The current U.S. QuickBooks guidance, updated August 24, 2026, directs you to inspect the bank account and any message waiting there rather than assuming a single universal fault. Follow Intuit’s Error 101 procedure.
1. Check the account’s status
Sign in at the bank and open the exact account connected to QuickBooks. Confirm that it is open, has a balance or recent activity, and can display its transaction pages. If it is closed or the bank marks it inactive, ask the bank what is required to reactivate it. QuickBooks cannot download transactions from an account the bank no longer exposes for online access.
2. Complete any bank-side confirmation
Look for updated terms, a consent request, a security challenge, or another prompt that must be acknowledged before third-party access resumes. Complete it on the bank’s website, then return to QuickBooks Online and select Update under All apps → Accounting → Bank transactions.
3. Recheck after the bank accepts the change
If the bank login works and the prompt is complete but Error 101 remains, retry after a short interval and confirm that you selected the same account. If the bank itself still blocks access, contact the bank. If the bank works normally and the documented steps do not clear the error, contact QuickBooks support with the code and the time the bank-side change was completed.

Fix Errors 102 and 105: QuickBooks cannot connect to the bank
Errors 102 and 105 indicate that QuickBooks cannot establish a connection to the bank. The issue may be a temporary bank outage, a bank-maintenance window, a notification that requires action, or an inaccessible account page. Use Intuit’s Error 102 and 105 guidance, updated August 4, 2026.
1. Test the bank outside QuickBooks
Open the bank website directly and sign in. Check whether you can open the account overview and transaction list, not merely the landing page. Read service alerts and notices. If the bank cannot load the account or reports an outage, wait for the bank’s service to recover and avoid changing account links in QuickBooks.
2. Run a manual update
In QuickBooks Online, open All apps → Accounting → Bank transactions, choose the affected account, and select Update. A manual update asks QuickBooks to try the connection now. It does not change the bank’s normal synchronization cadence, and a successful request may still return no new transactions if the bank has not made them available.

3. Allow for an unresolved bank issue
Intuit notes that a bank may need 24 hours or more to resolve a connection problem and recommends trying again after a short wait if the issue remains. That is guidance, not a guaranteed resolution window. If the bank website works, no notice is pending, and repeated updates continue to show 102 or 105, contact QuickBooks support and provide the bank, account type, code, last successful update, and any recent bank changes.

Fix Error 103: verify the bank credentials
Error 103 usually means the user ID or password entered for the bank connection is incorrect. The U.S. help article was updated August 4, 2026; follow Intuit’s Error 103 instructions.
1. Prove the credentials at the bank
Type the credentials directly into the bank’s website. Do not rely on a password saved in a browser or password manager until you have confirmed it is current. If direct sign-in fails, use the bank’s official recovery process or ask the bank to unlock the online profile. Never send a bank password to a support representative or publish it in a ticket.
2. Re-enter the verified credentials in QuickBooks
Return to the bank connection in QuickBooks and retry with the same, verified user ID and password. If the bank uses a separate ID for business accounts, treasury services, or an aggregator, use the login that can actually open the account you are connecting.

A bank may have moved from a simple password to multifactor authentication, a new login page, or an app approval. Complete the bank’s challenge when prompted and then retry the QuickBooks connection. If the bank login succeeds but Error 103 persists, document the exact bank URL or login method (without recording the password) and escalate to QuickBooks.

Fix Error 324: QuickBooks cannot find the account
Error 324 means QuickBooks cannot find the bank account, even though the bank may still be active. Transactions may stop downloading after account details change, after you use different credentials, or after reauthorization selects a different set of accounts. The account-selection step is critical when several QuickBooks companies share one bank login. See Intuit’s Error 324 article, updated August 21, 2026.
Identify which account changed
- Changed account details: the bank may have converted, renumbered, or replaced the account while the QuickBooks link still points to the old identifier.
- Different credentials: the connection may be using a login that does not expose the original account.
- Different account selection: during authorization, only some accounts may have been shared, or a similarly named account may have been chosen.
Compare the account name and last four digits shown by the bank with the account already used in QuickBooks. Do not create a new QuickBooks account merely because the feed stopped until you know whether the existing account can be remapped.
Use Fix now and map the account when details changed
- In All apps → Accounting → Bank transactions, select the account showing Error 324 and choose Fix now.
- Sign in with the current bank credentials.
- When the bank asks which accounts to share, choose All Accounts or Consent All when that option is presented. This helps preserve access when the same credentials serve multiple QuickBooks companies.
- When QuickBooks asks where to send the account, map the updated bank account to the existing QuickBooks account if it represents the same bookkeeping account.
- Save the connection and review the downloaded transactions before accepting or categorizing them.
Coordinate shared credentials
If multiple QuickBooks companies use one bank login, changing the account selection for one company can affect the accounts available to another. Intuit recommends that one person manage connection setup and maintenance and select All Accounts during authorization. Coordinate the change with the other company administrators before proceeding; do not authorize a partial list simply because it is the first list displayed.

Error 350 means the secure connection between QuickBooks and the bank has expired or no longer works. Reauthorization frequency is set by the bank: Intuit gives examples ranging from every 90 business days to every 18 months, so there is no universal renewal interval. Reconnect the affected account
- Open All apps → Accounting → Bank transactions and select the account with Error 350.
- Choose Fix now.
- Confirm or re-enter the bank sign-in details and complete any multifactor prompt at the bank.
- Review the accounts the bank offers. Select the intended account; when the bank provides an All Accounts option, use it if the login is shared across QuickBooks companies.
- Select Save and connect.
After reconnecting, review the account’s transaction list and the last-downloaded date. Reauthorization restores permission; it does not change your chart of accounts or automatically resolve unrelated duplicate or uncategorized transactions.
Browser and session checks that are safe to try
When the bank login and the code-specific workflow look correct but the page loops, fails to load, or retains an old error, test the browser session without altering the bank link.
- Open QuickBooks in a private or incognito window and repeat the same path.
- Try another current browser to determine whether an extension, cached session, or blocked pop-up is involved.
- Sign out of QuickBooks, close stale bank tabs, reopen the service, and retry.
- Temporarily disable browser extensions that modify scripts, pop-ups, privacy controls, or password fields, then test again.
- Keep the bank website and QuickBooks in separate tabs so you can complete the bank’s prompt without losing the QuickBooks session.
These tests isolate browser state. They cannot repair a bank outage, a closed account, incorrect credentials, or an authorization that the bank has revoked.
What not to do when a feed fails
- Do not disconnect immediately. Error 324 may require mapping a changed account to the existing QuickBooks account, and an incorrect reconnection can complicate feeds for other companies.
- Do not guess or repeatedly reset passwords. Verify the login at the bank first; repeated failures can trigger a bank lockout.
- Do not share credentials. Authenticate directly at the bank and QuickBooks. Support should receive the error code and circumstances, never the bank password.
- Do not assume an update must show a transaction. Most banks update about every 24 hours, but timing varies and the bank may not yet have released the transaction.
- Do not treat a browser workaround as a diagnosis. Incognito mode can reveal a local session problem, but it does not prove that the bank or authorization is healthy.
When to contact the bank or QuickBooks support
Contact the bank first when
- You cannot sign in directly.
- The bank displays a security, terms, consent, password, or account-verification prompt.
- The account is closed, frozen, inactive, missing, or cannot display transactions.
- The bank reports maintenance or an outage.
Contact QuickBooks support when
- You can sign in to the bank and open the account, but the documented code-specific steps do not clear the error.
- The connection fails repeatedly after a manual update and the bank reports no outage.
- The account appears under the bank login but QuickBooks cannot map it correctly.
- Several QuickBooks companies share the login and account selection has become inconsistent.
Provide the exact error code, bank and account type, last successful download, date of any credential or account change, whether the bank website works, whether an update was attempted, and whether other companies use the same credentials. Do not include the password, one-time code, or full account number.
