Check where progression stopped

Confirm the Hunter Exam awarded the license
The walkthrough places the Hunter’s License before Nen activation. It says the final Hunter Exam tournament is a one-on-one match and that defeating the opponent awards the license. In practical terms, separate “I reached the final match” from “I won the final match and received the license.” The walkthrough identifies the win as the awarding action. If you reached the match but did not defeat the opponent, the described prerequisite has not yet been confirmed. If an earlier exam stage seems uncredited
The guide describes distinct objectives for the exam stages: finish the timed Stamina Race obstacle course, navigate the Trick Tower maze and fight its NPC, survive the Zevil Island stage with two badges, and win the final tournament match. These objectives are not interchangeable. Reaching a course finish, completing a tower encounter, surviving the island stage, and winning the tournament are different milestones. Follow the Activate Nen quest in order
- Open the quest tracker. Press
P. The walkthrough says to hide other trackers and leave Active Quest selected so you can follow the Activate Nen prompt. Check which objective is active before traveling; the tracker is the guide’s suggested way to follow the route and see the current task. - Speak with the Librarian in Port Town. The guide says the Librarian directs you to Rohan at the Nen Cave on Wayfarer Island. Follow the active tracker rather than relying only on memory of the route. If the tracker does not point to this step or the dialogue does not move you forward, include that discrepancy in your notes.
- Talk to Rohan. Continue through the dialogue and check the tracker for the meditation task it assigns. The walkthrough places Rohan at the Nen Cave on Wayfarer Island. If the conversation seems finished but no meditation objective appears, record the displayed quest stage rather than assuming the game has accepted it.
- Get a Meditation Mat if needed. The walkthrough says to buy one from the Port Town merchant. This is an in-game item described as part of the quest—not a real-world equipment recommendation. If you already have a mat, the guide does not say you need to purchase another one.
- Complete the meditation task. Place the mat, approach it, press
T, and finish the keyboard-letter quick-time event described by the guide. Pay attention to whether the event completes and whether the quest tracker changes afterward; the walkthrough does not specify a separate confirmation message or explain what to do if the event does not start. - Return to Rohan. Use the active tracker to find him again and continue the dialogue. The walkthrough says Nen unlocks after the meditation objective and return to Rohan. Completing the mat event is therefore not the final checkpoint in the described sequence: verify the return dialogue and the resulting quest state as well.
The order matters because the guide presents the license as the prerequisite, the Activate Nen objective as the route, and the meditation plus return to Rohan as the concluding steps.
