First check which game you own. EA’s official announcement dated 21 September 2022 confirms Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond in FIFA 23: Ted is a selectable Career Mode manager, AFC Richmond can be moved into a playable Career Mode league, and related Ultimate Team content is earned through objectives and challenges. That announcement does not confirm the same content in EA SPORTS FC 24, FC 25, FC 26 or FC 27.
If you are using FIFA 23, follow the mode-specific checks below. If you are using a later FC release, treat the content as unverified until EA announces it for that title; standard missing-item troubleshooting cannot add content that was never included.

Why Ted Lasso or AFC Richmond may appear to be missing
“Missing” can describe two different situations:
- The content is included in your game and account, but an item or reward has not appeared.
- You are looking in a later EA SPORTS FC release for content that EA officially announced only for FIFA 23.
Identify these details before changing settings or contacting support:

- Platform: the console or PC account on which you play.
- Mode: Career Mode or Ultimate Team (FUT).
- What you expect: Ted Lasso as a manager, AFC Richmond as a Career Mode club, or a FUT item/reward.
EA’s FIFA 23 announcement is historical launch-era evidence. It should not be read as a promise that a license carried forward into every subsequent game.

The announcement does not establish that Ted Lasso is a playable footballer, that AFC Richmond is a permanent club in every mode, or that the content is present in later EA SPORTS FC games. In particular, FUT availability refers to items earned through the stated objectives and challenges, not an automatic entitlement to every related item.
If you are looking for the content in FIFA 23 Career Mode
Find Ted Lasso as a manager
Start a new Career Mode setup and look in the manager-selection portion of the setup flow. Ted Lasso should be treated as a manager choice, not as a player-card search. If the manager does not appear, confirm that you launched FIFA 23 rather than a later title and that you are using the account and platform where the game is installed.

Use AFC Richmond as a club
The announced implementation lets you manage AFC Richmond by swapping the club into the Premier League or another playable Career Mode league. The club therefore may not be sitting in the league you first expect. In Career Mode’s league or club-selection setup, choose the option to replace a participating club and select AFC Richmond, then continue the save with that league assignment.
If you cannot find the club, check the league-selection stage rather than only the default club list. The announcement describes a swap into a playable league; it does not say that AFC Richmond replaces a real-world club automatically in every save.

Check that you are in the correct mode
Career Mode manager and club content is separate from FUT objectives. Searching the FUT menus for a Career Mode manager, or searching Career Mode for a FUT reward, will not locate the other type of content.
If you are looking for FIFA 23 Ultimate Team content
EA described the related FUT content as rewards from objectives and challenges. Open the Objectives and Challenges areas in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team and review active, completed and claimed groups. Read each requirement and expiry condition; a reward may remain unavailable until every listed task is complete.

- Check whether the objective group is active on the account you are using.
- Confirm that the reward was claimed after completion rather than only meeting the requirement.
- Look in the Club and Store for an unclaimed item after claiming it.
- Do not assume that a Career Mode appearance guarantees a corresponding FUT item.
These checks apply only to the FIFA 23 implementation EA announced. They do not prove that an equivalent objective group exists in FC 24, FC 25, FC 26 or FC 27.
General missing-item checks for EA SPORTS FC
When an FC item or reward should exist in the particular game and account, EA’s missing-items guidance follows this order.
- Restart Ultimate Team. Exit Ultimate Team completely, return to the game’s main menu, and enter Ultimate Team again. If the item still does not appear, restart the game and system before checking again.
- Check the Club and Store. Look for unclaimed packs, players or other items in both locations. Some grants are delivered to an unclaimed-items area rather than directly into the active squad.
- Inspect Transfer Targets. Open Transfer Targets and review both current targets and Won Items. Also check Expired Items; an item can be easy to miss if it moved out of the active transfer list.
- Allow the stated processing period. EA says a player item that is stuck after a Transfer Market acquisition should be corrected automatically within 72 hours. After that period, check Transfer Targets again.
- Use Quick Sell Recovery when applicable. If the missing player item was quick-sold, Quick Sell Recovery can undo up to five player-item quick sells during a 31-day period, provided the account has enough Coins. The limit is an EA Help rule, not a guarantee that every item can be restored.
These procedures address an eligible missing item in a game that contains the item. They cannot create Ted Lasso or AFC Richmond in a title where EA has not confirmed the license.

Cases EA says cannot be recovered
EA states that its advisers cannot recover player items that were discarded or restore items submitted into a Squad Building Challenge (SBC). Before using recovery or contacting support, distinguish a quick sell from a discard and check whether the item was consumed in an SBC.

- Quick sell: use the in-game Quick Sell Recovery process if you are within the 31-day window and have sufficient Coins.
- Discard: EA says discarded player items cannot be recovered by EA Advisors.
- SBC submission: EA says an item submitted into an SBC cannot be restored.
When purchased content is still absent
For purchased content that has not appeared, use EA’s general missing-content sequence:
- Restart the game and the system.
- Confirm that you are signed in to the EA Account used for the purchase.
- Verify that the platform account is the one associated with that EA Account.
- Check EA’s service-status information for an outage or ongoing incident.
- Wait 24 hours from the purchase. If the purchased content is still missing after that period, contact EA support and provide proof of purchase.
A receipt can establish that a transaction occurred, but it does not establish that a later FC title includes the Ted Lasso or AFC Richmond license. Support can investigate an eligible transaction; it cannot turn an unannounced feature into a supported one.
Using EA’s Missing Content Tool
EA’s Missing Content Tool can check eligibility for a grant or replacement for qualifying missing content, Points or FUT Draft disconnect tokens. Eligibility is determined by the tool’s rules and account records. Its availability does not promise that Ted Lasso or AFC Richmond will be granted, especially when the game title or mode has not been confirmed as containing that content.
Use the tool only after checking the game title, mode, account and waiting period. If the issue concerns a Career Mode manager or club in FIFA 23, an FUT-item recovery tool may not be the relevant route.

Information to give EA support
For an FC item that remains missing after the stated checks and 72-hour processing period, EA’s guide asks for specific account and incident details. Prepare:
- What is missing, described as precisely as possible.
- The mode in which it should appear.
- The email address for the EA Account.
- The platform account ID.
- The date and approximate time the item disappeared or failed to arrive.
- Your time zone.
- The platform on which you play.
For a purchase issue, include the proof of purchase requested by support. Avoid opening multiple reports for the same incident while waiting for the stated processing period; keep the original case details together so the account history is clear.
What to do in FC 24, FC 25, FC 26 or FC 27
Do not assume the FIFA 23 feature carried forward
EA Help pages for FC 24, FC 25 and FC 26 provide general missing-content guidance, but those pages do not confirm Ted Lasso or AFC Richmond inclusion. The available official material also does not establish whether FC 27 includes the content, which modes it supports or which platforms would receive it.
Verify before troubleshooting
- Check the exact title displayed on your game library and in the main menu.
- Look for a current EA announcement or official game page that names Ted Lasso or AFC Richmond for that title.
- Confirm the named mode: Career Mode, FUT or another mode.
- Check the supported platform and edition information for that announcement.
- Only then use the missing-item steps for an item that should exist in that title.
If no current official source confirms the content, the likely explanation is that you are seeking the FIFA 23 implementation in a different game, not that a hidden setting is disabled. Reinstalling, clearing local data or contacting support will not unlock an unannounced feature.

Buying or launching a compatible copy of FIFA 23 can provide access to the earlier announced implementation, subject to platform and edition compatibility. It is an alternative way to play that version, not a repair, transfer or unlock for a newer EA SPORTS FC game. Check current platform compatibility and availability before purchasing.

Searching the wrong game
A player may remember the FIFA 23 announcement but search in FC 25 or FC 26. Read the title on the start screen and confirm it before changing account settings.
Looking in the wrong mode
Ted Lasso’s announced role is Career Mode manager. AFC Richmond’s announced club use is Career Mode through a league swap. FUT content is obtained through objectives and challenges. Use the mode that matches the content type.

Quick Sell Recovery is for eligible quick-sold player items. EA says items submitted to an SBC and discarded items cannot be restored by advisers.
Escalating before waiting
EA’s guidance allows up to 72 hours for a player item stuck after a Transfer Market acquisition and asks purchasers to wait 24 hours before contacting support about missing purchased content. Record the time of the event so you know when the applicable period ends.
Assuming support can add licensed content
Support can investigate account delivery and transaction problems. It cannot confirm or grant content that the relevant game has never officially announced.
A practical decision checklist
- Have you written down the exact game title and platform?
- Are you looking for Career Mode content or a FUT item?
- For FIFA 23 Career Mode, did you check the manager-selection and club-swap stages?
- For FIFA 23 FUT, did you complete and claim the relevant objective or challenge?
- For an FC item, did you restart Ultimate Team and inspect Club, Store, Transfer Targets, Won Items and Expired Items?
- Has the 72-hour Transfer Market period or 24-hour purchase period elapsed where applicable?
- Was the item quick-sold, discarded or submitted into an SBC?
- Are you signed in to the correct EA Account and platform account?
- Do you have the incident details and proof of purchase needed for support?
The key distinction is availability versus delivery. EA confirmed the Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond implementation for FIFA 23. A missing item in that confirmed context can be investigated with the appropriate mode and account checks. A later EA SPORTS FC title needs its own official confirmation before a missing-content procedure can be expected to help.
