If Halo Infinite will not let you open Campaign, asks you to buy a digital purchase again, hangs while loading multiplayer, or reports No ping to our datacenters, the fix depends on where the failure occurs. - Press the Xbox button and highlight Halo Infinite.
- Choose the game’s menu button, then select Quit so it is not left suspended in Quick Resume.
- Launch Halo Infinite again from My games & apps.
- Open the game’s Play menu and select Campaign.

Campaign is in Halo Infinite, not a separate game tile
Campaign and multiplayer assets were separated with the Season 4 installation change in June 2023. Campaign is still opened from Halo Infinite’s Play menu; it is not expected to appear as a second standalone game entry. Selecting Campaign can show a loading screen while the game changes between the two sets of assets. Halo Support gives an average transition of about 15 seconds, but the actual time varies by Xbox model and PC specifications, so a short loading screen alone is not proof of a failure. How to tell a normal transition from a stuck load
After you choose Campaign, wait through the transition instead of immediately backing out. The roughly 15-second figure is an average, not a deadline: console model, installed updates and current system load can change the result. A screen that eventually reaches Campaign is normal behavior after the separated-installation change. Treat it as a fault when it remains indefinitely, returns to the menu repeatedly, or is accompanied by a known-issue symptom. Note how long you waited and whether the game eventually recovered; that information makes a support report more useful.
Fix a campaign loading or progression problem
The current Campaign Known Issues page (updated June 10, 2025, for version 1.11.0.1) lists several issues that can leave an endless loading screen or prevent a mission from advancing. Match your symptom to that page before applying a workaround; different progression bugs do not necessarily have the same fix.
Fast-travel while dead
For the documented case in which fast travel is used while the player is dead, close the game and reload the save from the main menu. This is a recovery step for that specific known issue, not a universal solution for every loading problem.

A mission objective will not progress
For some blocked mission-progression cases, restarting the mission can clear the state. Save any information about the objective, location, and trigger that failed so you can report it if the restart does not help.
Do not force-close during active campaign play
Halo Support warns that forcing the game closed during active campaign gameplay can overwrite or corrupt progress in some circumstances. When the game is still responding, use its normal menu and save flow. Reserve a forced quit for a genuine freeze or for a workaround explicitly listed for your known issue, then reload from the main menu rather than repeatedly terminating the game during a save.
Before retrying a progression workaround
- Write down the mission name, objective text, location and the action that failed.
- Record whether the issue happened after fast travel, a death, a reload or a restart.
- Check the date and version shown on the current Campaign Known Issues page; entries and workarounds can change.
- Use the page’s specific recovery instruction rather than applying a fix meant for a different mission state.
Fix “No ping to our datacenters” in multiplayer
The exact error No ping to our datacenters indicates that something between the console and Halo’s service may be blocking an essential server. Halo Support identifies four possible control points: the router, a firewall, the ISP’s network, or an administrator-managed network. Follow its datacenter-error guidance.
- Confirm that the error is still present after restarting Halo Infinite.
- Sign in to the router or firewall that controls the Xbox connection.
- Allow inbound and outbound traffic for UDP port 3075, along with the required Xbox network ports listed by Halo Support.
- Save the network change, restart the router or firewall if it requires that step, and then restart the Xbox before testing matchmaking again.
Opening a port is a network-configuration change, not a reason to buy a new router. If you are on a school, work, hotel, apartment, or other managed connection, you may not have permission to change it. Ask the network administrator or ISP to unblock UDP 3075 and the required Xbox ports. Do not attempt to bypass a managed network’s security controls yourself.
What the port test can tell you
If changing the permitted port resolves matchmaking, the previous block was on the path between your Xbox and the service. If the error remains, do not assume the console is defective: the block may still be at the ISP or another firewall, or the required Xbox ports may also need attention. Give the administrator the exact error wording and the UDP 3075 requirement. Avoid changing unrelated router settings at random, because that makes it harder to identify which change affected the connection.

If port changes do not solve it
- Test the Xbox on a different network that you control, such as a permitted mobile hotspot, only as a diagnostic comparison.
- If multiplayer works elsewhere, the original router, firewall, ISP, or managed network remains the likely control point.
- If the error follows the console across networks, record the exact message and connection details for Halo Support or Xbox Support.
When multiplayer will not load more generally
Not every matchmaking failure is a Halo fault. Start with Xbox service status before changing router settings. An outage or maintenance event can prevent sign-in, matchmaking, or content services for many players at once.
- Check the Xbox service-status page for an incident affecting multiplayer, sign-in, or games and apps.
- If no incident is listed, follow the network troubleshooting steps from Xbox Support, including the console’s connection test and NAT results.
- For internet trouble that also affects other devices or games, power-cycle the modem, router, and Xbox One: turn off the equipment, disconnect power briefly, reconnect the modem and router first, wait for the connection to return, then start the Xbox and test Halo Infinite.
Power cycling is intended for broad internet or Xbox-network trouble; it is not a substitute for the UDP 3075 check when the specific datacenter error is displayed. If only Halo Infinite fails while other Xbox services work, document the in-game symptom and use Halo Support rather than repeatedly rebooting every device.
Separate an outage from a local fault
Service-status results are the quickest comparison point when several Xbox functions fail together. If sign-in, other games and Xbox services work but Halo Infinite alone cannot matchmake, preserve the exact Halo error and move to Halo Support after the relevant checks. If multiple services fail at once, keep the troubleshooting focused on Xbox service status and Xbox network guidance instead of changing Halo files or campaign settings.

- What you already tried and what changed after each attempt.
- Screenshots or a video showing the failure, when possible.
For a digital Campaign prompt, state that you completed full quit-and-relaunch attempts and whether the prompt appears every time or only intermittently. For a network report, state whether the same Xbox works on another connection and whether other Xbox services are affected. These distinctions help the support team route an in-game defect separately from an account or network case.

Use Xbox Support for issues outside Halo
Halo Support directs account, purchase, personal-connectivity, and hardware issues outside the game to Xbox Support. That includes an Xbox account that cannot sign in, a purchase or subscription problem affecting multiple games, console networking that fails system-wide, or suspected hardware trouble. The same separation means Steam-specific account, purchase, or connectivity cases belong with Steam Support rather than the Xbox route.
A practical decision path
- Can you reach Halo Infinite’s main menu? If not, treat it as an installation, update, account, or console problem and start with Xbox Support’s system checks.
- Is the problem only Campaign access? Fully quit and relaunch. If a digital purchase is still requested, capture the prompt and send Halo Support the OS version.
- Does Campaign load but a mission fail? Check the current Campaign Known Issues page and apply only the workaround matching your symptom. Avoid force-closing during active play.
- Does multiplayer show the datacenter error? Check UDP 3075 and required Xbox ports, then involve the network administrator or ISP when you cannot administer the connection.
