Most Good Lock problems are caused by an outdated Galaxy Store package, an unsupported device or region, or a module that has not yet caught up with a new One UI release. Start by updating Good Lock and the affected module in Galaxy Store, then check your Galaxy model, region, Android version and One UI version. Only after those checks should you apply a feature-specific fix, such as Samsung’s LockStar update requirement for the Adaptive Clock issue on Android 16 and One UI 8.
Identify exactly what is failing
“Good Lock does not work” can describe several different faults. The correct next step depends on where the failure occurs, so classify the symptom before changing settings.
| Symptom | What it usually means | First check |
|---|---|---|
| Good Lock is not found in Galaxy Store | The app may not be offered for the device, software version or region. | Search Galaxy Store while signed in to the Samsung account used on the phone; record the model, country and One UI version. |
| Good Lock opens, but a module is absent | The module may not yet be released for that model, One UI version or region. | Search for the module separately in Galaxy Store and check Samsung’s current availability guidance. |
| The module will not download or update | The store package may be outdated, or a plugin-install/update defect may be affecting the release. | Update Good Lock and the module independently in Galaxy Store. |
| The module is installed but its feature does nothing | The feature may be incompatible with the current One UI release, disabled in the module, or affected by a known module-specific bug. | Record the module version and look for Samsung instructions for that exact feature. |
Before troubleshooting, write down the Galaxy model, country or region, Android version, One UI version, Good Lock version, affected module and module version. Also note whether the phone is running a beta build. These details determine whether a missing or broken module is an availability issue rather than a hardware failure.
Install Good Lock from Galaxy Store
Samsung’s installation guidance starts with its own store:

- TYPE IT IN. TRANSFORM IT FAST: Enhance any shot in seconds on your smartphone by using Photo Assist² with Galaxy AI.³ Add objects, restore details, or apply new styles by simply typing or tapping

- HELP THAT KEEPS UP: Stay in the moment while Now Nudge with Galaxy AI helps you respond faster and stay organized with smart suggestions⁵ that appear exactly when you need them on your phone
- Open Galaxy Store on the Galaxy phone or tablet.
- Use Search and enter Good Lock.
- Open the listing published by Good Lock Labs and tap Install or Update.
- Open Good Lock after installation. Modules are distributed as separate components, so installing the main app does not automatically install every module.
- Inside Good Lock, select the module you need and follow its Galaxy Store link. If the module has its own Install or Update button, complete that action separately.
Samsung’s guide, last updated October 1, 2026, cautions that “Available feature and settings may vary by software version and phone model.” The Galaxy Store listing likewise warns that some devices may not be supported. A successful Good Lock installation therefore does not prove that every module will be available on the same phone.
Update Good Lock and each module separately
Good Lock and its plugins can receive separate releases. Updating only the main app can leave the affected module on an older build.
- Open Galaxy Store.
- Tap Menu (the location can vary by Galaxy Store version), then open Updates.
- Install every available update for Good Lock and the affected module.
- If the module is not listed under Updates, search for its exact name in Galaxy Store and open its product page. An Update button there may be available even when the Updates screen does not show it.
- Restart Good Lock and test the feature again after both packages finish updating.
The Good Lock Galaxy Store listing recorded version 3.0.16.6 on July 14, 2026, with release notes that include fixes for plugin installation and update problems. That does not make this version a universal requirement; it illustrates why checking the current store release is more useful than relying on an old APK or an old troubleshooting post.
Check model, One UI version and region compatibility
Confirm the software build
Open Settings > About phone > Software information and note Android version and One UI version. On some models, the exact menu wording can differ slightly. Also note the phone’s model number under About phone.
Compare those details with the affected module’s current Galaxy Store listing and Samsung support information. Samsung says feature availability can vary by software version and model; do not assume that a module available on one Galaxy will be available on another.
Consider regional availability
Samsung community staff have explained that module releases can be gradual and that availability may depend on the device model, One UI version and region. A module missing from both Good Lock and Galaxy Store may therefore be unsupported for the current setup.

Good Lock modules can lag behind beta or major One UI changes while compatibility work is underway. Samsung community responses in 2026 described modules that were not fully available during beta periods, and a December 2024 One UI 7 beta discussion documented Good Lock incompatibility in that test context. Those reports are beta-specific examples, not a statement that every stable release has the same problem.
If the phone is enrolled in a One UI beta, check whether the module supports that build before repeatedly reinstalling it. A temporary absence or broken feature during a beta can be expected compatibility work rather than a hardware fault.
When a module is missing from Good Lock
- Search the module’s exact name in Galaxy Store, not only inside Good Lock.
- Check whether the store page says the app is unavailable for your device.
- Compare the phone’s model and One UI version with Samsung’s current support information.
- Check the same module on a stable, supported software release if the phone is running a beta.
- Wait for an official release if Samsung identifies the module as rolling out gradually.
- Contact Samsung support with the model, region, One UI version and a screenshot of the missing listing if the module appears to be supported but is not offered.
Changing the device’s region is not an established universal fix. Samsung’s community guidance also indicates that manually installing an APK will not activate a feature restricted by region. Do not use sideloading as a general workaround for a missing module.
When installation or updating fails
Use the store listing, not an old installer
Good Lock modules are Galaxy Store software. An old installer can be incompatible with the current Good Lock host or One UI release, while the store may contain a corrected package. Remove uncertainty by using the official Galaxy Store listing and checking for updates to both the host app and plugin.
Capture the failure details
Note the exact message shown by Galaxy Store, whether the download stops at a particular point, and whether other Galaxy Store apps install normally. Record the module version if an update partially completes. These details help Samsung distinguish a store transaction problem from a compatibility restriction.

Do not assume a general reset will solve a compatibility block
A reboot, cache clearing or reinstall can sometimes change an app’s local state, but the available Samsung guidance does not establish any of those actions as a universal Good Lock remedy. Use them only within Samsung’s instructions for the specific error, and do not mistake a successful reinstall for proof that the module is supported long term.
When an installed module does not work
Verify the module is enabled
Open Good Lock, select the affected module and confirm that the relevant feature is enabled inside the module. Some modules expose their settings only after the plugin is opened once or after the phone is restarted. If the module itself will not open, return to the version and compatibility checks rather than treating an individual setting as the cause.
Check for a module-specific support article
Search Samsung Support for the exact module and feature name. Follow instructions tied to the same Android and One UI versions as the phone. A fix written for one feature should not be generalized to every Good Lock module.
Retest after an official update
After updating, close Good Lock, reopen the module and test the feature using the same steps that originally failed. If the issue began immediately after a major One UI update, check Samsung’s release notes and community announcements for a compatibility update before trying unrelated changes.
Specific fix: LockStar Adaptive Clock on Android 16 and One UI 8
Samsung has published a narrow troubleshooting procedure for an Adaptive Clock, also called Stretch Clock, problem in LockStar. It applies to Galaxy phones or tablets running Android 16 with One UI 8; it is not a minimum version rule for all LockStar functions or all Good Lock modules.
- Open Good Lock and select LockStar.
- Open the LockStar settings and check the installed LockStar version.
- If the version is lower than 7.0.1.10, tap the Back icon, tap the More options icon again, then tap Go to store.
- In Galaxy Store, install the available LockStar update.
- Return to LockStar and retest the Adaptive Clock feature.
Samsung’s wording for this case is: “If the version is lower than 7.0.1.10, tap the Back icon, then tap the More options icon again, and tap Go to store.” Keep the Android 16, One UI 8 and Adaptive Clock conditions attached to that number. It should not be presented as the universal LockStar requirement.

Use the symptom to choose the next action
| Observed condition | Best next action | What not to conclude |
|---|---|---|
| Good Lock and the module are both listed, but versions are old | Update each package through Galaxy Store. | Do not conclude that the phone needs replacement. |
| Good Lock is listed, but a module is missing everywhere | Check model, One UI version, beta status and region; monitor official availability. | Do not conclude that reinstalling repeatedly will create regional support. |
| The module appeared after an update but a feature stopped working | Look for a Samsung article or release note for that exact module and feature. | Do not apply a version threshold from an unrelated module. |
| The phone is on a One UI beta | Check beta compatibility announcements and wait for the module update if Samsung identifies a lag. | Do not treat beta behavior as proof of a stable-release defect. |
| LockStar Adaptive Clock fails on Android 16/One UI 8 | Check whether LockStar is below 7.0.1.10 and update through its Go to store path. | Do not use 7.0.1.10 as a requirement for every LockStar feature. |
Separate an availability problem from an installation problem
The wording and location of the failure provide useful clues. If Good Lock itself is absent from Galaxy Store, the first question is whether Samsung offers it for that model and region. If Good Lock is present but RegiStar, LockStar or another module is absent inside the app and in Galaxy Store search, availability is more likely than a damaged installation. If the module listing is visible but the button says Update or produces an error, treat it as a package or store transaction issue. If installation completes but a control inside the module has no effect, move to the module’s own version and feature documentation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThis distinction prevents wasted cycles. Reinstalling an app cannot create a listing that Samsung has not released for a particular combination of model, One UI version and region. Conversely, a supported module that is visible in Galaxy Store should be tested at its current store version before assuming a rollout restriction.
What a One UI update can change
A major One UI release can alter system interfaces that Good Lock modules customize. The module may remain listed while one feature waits for a compatibility update, or the module may be temporarily unavailable during a beta rollout. Samsung’s December 2024 One UI 7 beta discussion and 2026 beta responses show why beta status belongs in the diagnosis. These are examples of compatibility timing, not evidence that every Galaxy on a stable build will fail.
When a problem starts immediately after an operating-system update, record the old and new One UI versions and check the module’s Galaxy Store release notes. Do not downgrade the phone or install an unrelated APK simply because another Galaxy model has a newer module build. The supported package and rollout can differ by model and region.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Make a clean, repeatable test
- Write down the current versions before changing anything.
- Update Good Lock and the affected module from Galaxy Store.
- Close and reopen Good Lock, then open the module directly.
- Repeat the exact action that failed, such as opening a setting or enabling a feature.
- Record whether the symptom changed, stayed identical or moved from installation to feature operation.
A repeatable test gives Samsung Support a clear before-and-after result. It also prevents confusing a temporary store download failure with a persistent compatibility limitation.

When to stop local troubleshooting
Escalate when Galaxy Store does not offer the expected listing or current update, when Samsung’s feature-specific steps do not restore the feature, or when the same error returns after the official package is current. Include the model number, region, Android and One UI versions, Good Lock and module versions, beta status, exact symptom, error text and the date the issue began. Mention whether the problem followed a system update. Those details correspond to the variables Samsung identifies when discussing feature availability and compatibility.

Bottom line
Fix Good Lock problems in this order: identify the failure, update Good Lock and the affected module through Galaxy Store, verify model/region/One UI compatibility, and then follow a Samsung instruction written for the exact feature. Missing modules can be unavailable by design, especially during regional rollouts or beta software. For the documented Adaptive Clock problem, update LockStar to at least version 7.0.1.10 only when the phone is running Android 16 and One UI 8.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Good Lock not showing in Galaxy Store?
Samsung may not offer Good Lock for the phone’s model, One UI version or region. Confirm the model and software information, search the official Galaxy Store listing, and contact Samsung Support if the app should be available.
Why is a Good Lock module missing from the app?
Modules are released separately and availability can depend on device model, One UI version and region. Search for the module by name in Galaxy Store, check whether the phone is running a beta, and monitor Samsung’s official rollout information.
Recommended Free Tools
What should I do when a Good Lock module will not update?
Update Good Lock and the affected module independently through Galaxy Store. If the module is absent from the Updates page, open its individual store listing and check for an Update button. Record any error message before contacting Samsung.
Some Good Lock apps don’t work after a One UI update. Is the phone defective?
Not necessarily. Modules can temporarily lag behind beta or major One UI releases while compatibility work is completed. Check the module version, release notes and Samsung announcements before treating the behavior as a hardware fault.
RegiStar is not shown in Good Lock. Can I sideload its APK?
Sideloading is not a general solution. Samsung community guidance says a manually installed APK will not activate a feature restricted by region. Check model, One UI version and region availability instead.
What LockStar version fixes Adaptive Clock?
For the specific Adaptive Clock or Stretch Clock issue on Android 16 with One UI 8, Samsung directs users to update LockStar if it is below version 7.0.1.10. This threshold does not apply universally to every LockStar feature or Good Lock module.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Should I change my Galaxy region to get a missing module?
There is no established universal region-change fix. Availability can be controlled by Samsung’s model, software and regional rollout. Use the official store and Samsung Support rather than changing region or relying on an APK.
The Bottom Line
Start with Galaxy Store updates, then verify the exact Galaxy model, region and One UI version. A missing module may be unsupported or still rolling out, while a broken feature may need a module-specific update. Use LockStar 7.0.1.10 only for Samsung’s Adaptive Clock guidance on Android 16 and One UI 8.
