Most CIRQA problems fall into three separate cases: the band will not pair or reconnect, it is paired but data does not appear in Garmin Connect, or a particular alert is missing. The fix depends on which case you have. This guide follows Garmin’s July 2026 CIRQA Owner’s Manual and separates documented CIRQA behavior from general phone troubleshooting and features that Garmin has not confirmed for this band.
Because CIRQA is a screenless tracker, Garmin Connect is the place where you complete setup, view health and activity information, request a sync, and manage documented device alerts. A Bluetooth name appearing in the phone’s settings is not proof that the full Garmin Connect setup is complete.

Identify the problem before changing settings
Use the symptom that best matches what you see. Avoid deleting settings or resetting anything until you know whether the failure is pairing, synchronization, or notifications.

A quick pre-check
Before repeating setup, keep the phone and band together, make sure Garmin Connect is installed and open, and have the CIRQA USB cable available. Use the same phone that you intend to keep paired with the band. If you are testing with another phone, the first phone may still retain a Bluetooth relationship that interferes with a new pairing attempt.

Also note exactly what happens: whether the LED flashes purple, whether CIRQA appears under Garmin Devices, whether the app reports a completed sync, and which alert is absent. Those observations are more useful than repeatedly tapping Pair without changing the underlying state.
What CIRQA requires to work
Garmin states that CIRQA’s connected features and the viewing of health and activity data require pairing with the Garmin Connect app. A Bluetooth connection by itself is therefore not the complete setup: the band must finish being added inside Garmin Connect.
During setup, keep the phone close to the band. Garmin’s documented pairing distance is within 10 m (33 ft.). Walls, other electronics, and a phone left in another room can make a marginal connection fail, so perform the first pairing with the devices close together. For troubleshooting, place them beside each other rather than testing at the outer edge of the stated range.
The band also needs to be awake for connected operations. Garmin describes automatic synchronization as occurring periodically when CIRQA is awake and connected to Garmin Connect. If it has been idle, press its button to reactivate it before you judge the connection to be broken.
Pair or reconnect CIRQA correctly
New pairing
- Install and open the current Garmin Connect app on the phone you want to use.
- Connect CIRQA’s module to power with its USB cable. Garmin’s manual says the LED flashes purple while the band is in pairing mode.
- Keep the phone and band within the documented 10 m (33 ft.) range, preferably beside one another.
- Start the device-add or pairing flow in Garmin Connect and follow the prompts until CIRQA is shown as connected.
- Leave the band connected to power while the app completes setup. Do not close the app or move the band away during the prompt sequence.
The purple flashing light is the useful visual confirmation that CIRQA is waiting to be paired. Garmin says the device remains in pairing mode until it is paired. If the purple light is absent, do not assume the app is seeing a hidden pairing state; reactivate the band and begin the sequence again.
Complete the connection in Garmin Connect rather than stopping after a phone-level Bluetooth confirmation. Garmin’s documented requirement is pairing with Garmin Connect, because that pairing enables connected features and viewing of health and activity data.
Re-enter pairing mode after a previous pairing
A previous Bluetooth record can prevent a phone from accepting a fresh pairing request. Clear that old record before forcing pairing mode again.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and remove or forget the existing CIRQA entry.
- Connect the CIRQA module to power with the USB cable.
- Press the band’s button three times quickly, or hold it for about six seconds, until the LED flashes purple.
- Return to Garmin Connect and complete the pairing prompts there. Do not try to finish the connection only from the phone’s Bluetooth screen.
If the band does not show the purple light, press the button once to reactivate it and repeat the pairing-mode action. The manual specifically identifies the three-press or approximately six-second hold as the way to reactivate pairing after an earlier connection.
Do not alternate rapidly between the phone’s Bluetooth page and Garmin Connect. That can leave an incomplete record while you are trying to create a clean one. Forget the old entry once, activate the purple-light pairing mode, and then stay in Garmin Connect until the app reports completion.
When pairing appears to succeed but Garmin Connect does not finish
Check that the old Bluetooth entry was actually removed, then repeat the sequence with CIRQA powered and close to the phone. A phone can retain a stale entry even when the device no longer appears in the normal list, so restarting the phone before trying again is a reasonable next step. Garmin’s general pairing-failure guidance also recommends restarting the Garmin device and toggling the phone’s Bluetooth off and on before another attempt; that advice is general Garmin troubleshooting, not a CIRQA-specific guarantee.
After restarting, reconnect CIRQA to power and look specifically for the purple flashing LED. If it appears, proceed directly to Garmin Connect. If it never appears after the documented button actions, record that fact for Garmin Support instead of repeatedly attempting an app-side pairing.
Fix a CIRQA band that is paired but not syncing
Request a manual sync
Garmin provides a manual sync control in the CIRQA device page. Use this exact route:
- Bring CIRQA near the phone that is already paired with it.
- Open Garmin Connect.
- Open Garmin Devices.
- Select CIRQA.
- Select the synchronization control shown on the device page.
- Wait for the app to finish before closing it or moving the band away.
Garmin’s manual allows Garmin Connect to be open or running in the background during synchronization. Opening the app is still the clearest way to see whether a sync is in progress and whether it completes. If the control is unavailable or CIRQA is missing from Garmin Devices, return to the pairing steps instead of treating the problem as a delayed data transfer.
Keep the band close until the operation finishes. A Bluetooth connection that drops halfway through can leave you with an apparently paired device but no newly visible records. Run the manual sync again only after the app has stopped showing activity from the first attempt.
Understand automatic synchronization
Garmin says CIRQA periodically syncs data automatically when the device is awake and connected to Garmin Connect. Garmin does not specify a guaranteed interval or a fixed completion time in the cited CIRQA instructions. A delay, therefore, does not by itself prove that the band is defective.
If automatic syncing has stopped, make the band active, keep it near the paired phone, and open Garmin Connect so the connection can be re-established. If the app does not show CIRQA as connected, treat the problem as a pairing or connection issue rather than waiting indefinitely for an automatic transfer.
There is no documented promise that an automatic sync will happen at a particular minute or finish within a particular number of seconds. When you need to verify the connection now, use the manual sync control and wait for its result.
Check what data you are expecting
The documented requirement applies to connected features and viewing health and activity data. If the band is not paired to Garmin Connect, those records cannot be viewed through the app. A successful Bluetooth listing without a completed Garmin Connect pairing is not enough.
When checking the result, compare a record that should have changed recently rather than assuming every historical item will refresh visibly at once. Note the last data time shown by Garmin Connect, then perform one manual sync with the band nearby. If the timestamp does not change, capture that result for support.

Use the documented CIRQA alert menu
Garmin’s CIRQA documentation places device alerts at:
Garmin Connect > Garmin Devices > device > Notifications & Alerts
Open that menu and look for the specific alert you expect. Garmin’s documented examples include:
- Abnormal heart-rate alerts
- Bedtime alerts
- Goal alerts
- High-stress alerts
- Sleep-score alerts
- VO2 Max change alerts
Enable the relevant category if it is turned off, then sync the band so the setting can reach the device. If an alert depends on a measurement or goal, the underlying data must first be available in Garmin Connect. A missing alert immediately after changing a setting may therefore indicate that the setting has not reached CIRQA yet, not that the alert is unsupported.
Check one alert category at a time. For example, an abnormal heart-rate alert and a bedtime alert have different triggers; failure to see one does not demonstrate that all device alerts are failing. Record which category is enabled and whether the associated measurement or score is visible in the app.
Do not confuse device alerts with phone message mirroring
The retrieved CIRQA documentation does not verify support for incoming-call or SMS notifications. Do not treat a missing call or text alert as a syncing failure, and do not promise that CIRQA can display those notifications. Check Garmin’s current CIRQA FAQ or contact Garmin Support if that capability is essential to your use case.
The documented Notifications & Alerts menu concerns Garmin device alerts. It should not be read as confirmation that every notification generated by a phone can be mirrored to this screenless band.
Review phone-side permissions carefully
Notification delivery can also depend on the phone’s current Bluetooth, notification, background-activity, battery, and permission controls. The available CIRQA material does not establish one universal iOS or Android settings path, because labels and controls vary by operating-system version. Review the current permission controls for Garmin Connect on your phone, allow the app to operate in the background where the phone offers that choice, and then retry a manual sync.

Do not apply a permission path from an unrelated Garmin model as though it were a CIRQA-specific requirement. Phone menus change by operating-system version, so use the controls currently shown for Garmin Connect and consult Garmin’s current support instructions if a permission is unclear.
If a device alert is enabled in Garmin Connect but never appears, record the exact alert category, whether the triggering measurement is visible in the app, and whether CIRQA completes a manual sync. Those details distinguish a disabled alert from a connection problem when you contact support.
A complete recovery sequence for repeated failures
Follow these steps in order rather than changing several variables at once:
- Move the phone and CIRQA close together.
- Open Garmin Connect and check whether CIRQA is present under Garmin Devices.
- If it is absent, connect the band to power and look for the purple pairing light.
- If it was paired before, forget the old CIRQA entry in the phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Press the band button three times quickly or hold it for about six seconds to reactivate pairing mode.
- Finish pairing inside Garmin Connect.
- If CIRQA is listed as paired, open its device page and request a manual sync.
- If pairing still fails, restart the phone and Garmin device, switch phone Bluetooth off and back on, and repeat the pairing sequence.
After each attempt, note the result: whether the purple light appeared, whether CIRQA was visible in Garmin Connect, and whether the sync control completed. This prevents repeatedly retrying a step that has already been ruled out.

Pairing only from the phone’s Bluetooth menu
Garmin’s setup instructions use Garmin Connect as the pairing destination. A Bluetooth entry alone does not establish the connected-feature setup required to view CIRQA data in the app.
Leaving an old pairing in place
When a band has been connected to the phone before, the old Bluetooth record can interfere with manual pairing mode. Forget that record before using the three-press or six-second button action.
Testing from too far away
The documented setup range is 10 m (33 ft.), but close-range testing is more useful. Put the phone beside the band while pairing or manually syncing so distance is not an additional variable.
Expecting a fixed automatic-sync schedule
Automatic synchronization is described as periodic while CIRQA is awake and connected. Garmin does not publish a guaranteed interval in the cited section, so use the manual sync control when you need to check the connection immediately.
Calling every missing notification a Bluetooth problem
A missing device alert may be disabled in Notifications & Alerts, depend on data that has not synced, or involve a notification type that Garmin has not documented for CIRQA. Identify the alert category first.
Changing several things at once
Forgetting the device, reinstalling the app, changing phone permissions, and moving between phones at the same time makes the result difficult to interpret. Use the documented sequence first and write down the outcome of each checkpoint.
What Garmin’s documentation does not establish
Garmin’s July 2026 CIRQA Owner’s Manual supports the pairing, purple-light, proximity, manual-sync, automatic-sync, and device-alert instructions above. Garmin’s published material does not establish a required Garmin Connect app version, a current CIRQA firmware number, a guaranteed sync duration, universal iOS or Android permission paths, or support for SMS and incoming-call notifications.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Those details can change with phone operating-system releases, app updates, regional documentation, or later firmware. Use the current CIRQA FAQ or Garmin Support for a device-specific answer rather than applying a generic wearable instruction as if it were confirmed CIRQA behavior.
When to seek Garmin support or consider replacement
Contact Garmin Support after you have removed the stale pairing, reactivated pairing mode, restarted the phone and band, toggled Bluetooth, and attempted setup again in Garmin Connect. Include the phone model and operating-system version, the Garmin Connect version if the app displays it, whether the purple pairing light appears, and the exact point where setup stops.
For a sync complaint, also provide the last time data appeared, whether CIRQA is listed under Garmin Devices, whether the manual sync control is available, and what happens when you wait for it to complete. For an alert complaint, name the alert category and say whether its triggering measurement is visible in Garmin Connect.
Replacement is not a first-line fix for a sync or notification symptom. Consider it only when the band cannot enter pairing mode, cannot remain powered, or fails the documented sequence on more than one compatible phone after Garmin Support has ruled out account, app, and Bluetooth-state problems. The pairing instructions do not indicate that a Bluetooth dongle or other generic accessory is required.
Frequently asked questions
How close must my phone be to CIRQA?
Garmin’s documented pairing distance is within 10 m (33 ft.). For troubleshooting, keep the phone beside the band so distance and obstacles are not additional variables.
What does a flashing purple light mean?
A flashing purple LED indicates pairing mode. CIRQA remains in that mode until it is paired. If it was paired before, forget the old Bluetooth entry, connect the module to USB power, then press the button three times quickly or hold it for about six seconds.
Can I pair CIRQA from the phone’s Bluetooth settings alone?
No. Garmin’s setup uses Garmin Connect. A Bluetooth entry without completed Garmin Connect pairing does not provide the documented connected features or health and activity data viewing.
How do I force a sync?
Bring CIRQA near the paired phone, open Garmin Connect, choose Garmin Devices, select CIRQA, and select the sync control. Wait for completion before moving the band away or closing the app.
How often does CIRQA sync automatically?
Garmin says automatic syncing is periodic while the device is awake and connected, but the cited instructions do not give a guaranteed interval or completion time.
Does CIRQA show calls or text messages?
The CIRQA documentation reviewed here does not confirm incoming-call or SMS support. Check the current CIRQA FAQ or Garmin Support rather than assuming that a missing call or text is a Bluetooth fault.
Which alerts are documented for CIRQA?
Garmin lists abnormal heart-rate, bedtime, goal, high-stress, sleep-score, and VO2 Max change alerts in the Notifications & Alerts area. Enable the relevant category in Garmin Connect and sync the band.
What should I tell Garmin Support?
Report the phone model and operating-system version, Garmin Connect version if shown, whether the purple LED appears, whether CIRQA is listed under Garmin Devices, where setup stops, and whether a manual sync completes. For an alert issue, include the exact alert category and whether its underlying data appears in the app.

Why is CIRQA not appearing in Garmin Connect?
Keep the phone within 10 m (33 ft.), connect CIRQA to USB power, and look for the flashing purple LED. If it was paired before, forget the old CIRQA entry in phone Bluetooth settings, then press the band button three times quickly or hold it for about six seconds and finish pairing in Garmin Connect.
Why does CIRQA appear in Bluetooth but not sync data?
A phone-level Bluetooth entry is not the complete Garmin setup. Open Garmin Connect, check Garmin Devices for CIRQA, and use the device page’s manual sync control while the band is nearby.
What should I do when automatic sync seems stuck?
Wake the band, keep it near the paired phone, and open Garmin Connect. Garmin describes automatic sync as periodic but does not promise a fixed interval, so use the manual sync control to test the connection.
Why am I not receiving a CIRQA notification?
Identify the alert type first. Check Garmin Connect > Garmin Devices > device > Notifications & Alerts, enable the documented category, and sync. Garmin has not confirmed general incoming-call or SMS notification support for CIRQA.
Should I buy a Bluetooth dongle to fix CIRQA?
No generic Bluetooth dongle is identified as required by Garmin’s pairing instructions. Complete the documented pairing and restart/Bluetooth-toggle steps before considering hardware replacement.
The Bottom Line
For most CIRQA failures, use the same disciplined order: keep the phone within 10 m (33 ft.), connect the band to USB power, use the flashing purple LED to enter pairing mode, remove any old Bluetooth entry, and complete setup in Garmin Connect. For missing data, run a manual sync from Garmin Devices > CIRQA. For missing alerts, check Notifications & Alerts and verify the alert type is one Garmin documents; do not assume SMS or call mirroring.
