If Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC is not showing up, troubleshoot it in this order: verify that the platform account owns the add-on, confirm that the platform has installed and recognized it, then trigger the game’s normal delivery check by launching the game or resting at an inn. If the missing content is a Dark Arisen quest rather than an item, check the required story progression as well. Ownership, installation, in-game delivery, and progression are separate checks, so a failure in one does not prove that the others are broken.
First identify what kind of problem you have
“DLC not showing up” can describe several different situations. Record the platform, storefront account, exact add-on name, ownership status, installation status, base-game version or edition, whether the missing content is an item or a quest, your save’s progression, and the complete error wording. Those details distinguish a licensing problem from normal in-game behavior.

Capcom announced Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen as a paid expansion scheduled for October 9, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Switch 2 release combines the main game and expansion in one package. That means the product you purchased may not look the same in every storefront: one platform can present a separate add-on while another presents a combined game package.

Do not assume that a missing add-on on one platform can be installed from another platform’s library. Digital ownership is checked against the account and storefront where the purchase or redemption occurred, and the base game must be the compatible version for that add-on.
Step 1: verify the account actually owns the add-on
Check the purchasing or redeeming account
Open the platform storefront or game library with the same account that bought or redeemed the content. If the add-on is not listed as owned, treat the issue as a purchase, redemption, account, or regional-availability question—not as an in-game delivery failure.
On a shared console, check which profile is currently signed in and which profile completed the transaction. A family member’s purchase can be visible on a console without being attached to the profile you are using, depending on that platform’s sharing rules. The reviewed support material does not establish a Dragon’s Dogma 2-specific account-recovery procedure, so do not guess at one; use the platform’s account and purchase-support process when ownership cannot be established.
Confirm the exact product
- Check the full name of the add-on or bundle, not only a shortened store title.
- Confirm that the transaction is complete rather than pending, cancelled, refunded, or still awaiting redemption.
- Check the country or region of the account if the product is missing from the library.
- Make sure you are looking at the same platform family and edition as the installed base game.

Steam
Steam provides a DLC installation or management area for each game. Open Dragon’s Dogma 2 in your library, enter the game’s DLC management area, and check whether the add-on is listed and marked for installation. Steam’s help describes this area as the place to view DLC associated with a game and whether each item is installed.

- If the add-on is listed but unchecked or not installed, enable installation and allow the download to finish.
- If it is listed as installed, restart Steam and launch the game again so the client and game recheck the entitlement.
- If it is not listed at all, return to the ownership check; an absent entry can indicate the wrong account, product, region, or base-game package.
Do not treat a completed download as proof that the game has surfaced every bonus. Installation only establishes that the platform has the files and entitlement; in-game delivery is a separate step.
PlayStation 5
PlayStation add-ons can differ between software versions, including rating variants. Capcom’s general PS5 guidance advises checking that the purchased add-on is intended for the version of the software you are using. Compare the add-on’s product information with the installed Dragon’s Dogma 2 edition before deleting or redownloading anything.

Menu labels and license options can change by system software version, so use the labels shown on your console and the platform’s current support instructions rather than applying a menu path from another edition.
Xbox Series X|S
Confirm the add-on appears under the account that purchased it and that the console has finished installing it. Capcom’s Steam and Xbox FAQs say to launch the game or rest at an inn when additional content is not reflected in-game. That instruction addresses the game’s delivery check after ownership and installation are in place; it does not replace the storefront ownership check.
Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom lists a Switch 2 package that combines the main game and Dark Arisen. If you bought that combined product, look for the package you purchased rather than assuming there must be a separately downloadable expansion entry. If your store shows a separate product, verify that it belongs to the same account and compatible base-game release.

Step 3: trigger the game’s normal in-game delivery check
When the platform recognizes the content but the game does not visibly show it, start Dragon’s Dogma 2 and allow it to reach the title or game screen. Capcom says additional contents may be reflected when the game is launched for the first time or after resting at an inn.

- Close the game completely rather than leaving it suspended.
- Confirm the platform shows the add-on as owned and installed.
- Launch Dragon’s Dogma 2 and load the affected save.
- Rest at an inn to trigger the normal content check if the content is still absent.
- Check the location appropriate to the content type: your held balance for Rift Crystals, and storage accessed through the innkeeper for other items and bonuses.
- For the Explorer’s Camping Kit, check storage first; Capcom also says it can be purchased at in-game shops.
A bonus that arrives in storage will not necessarily create a new quest marker, menu entry, or notification. Search the innkeeper’s storage rather than judging availability only by the character’s immediate inventory.
If the add-on remains absent after launching and resting, use the platform’s add-on troubleshooting path and then Capcom support. Keep the ownership record, installation state, game version, platform, save information, and exact error text together when you contact support.
When a missing Dark Arisen quest is actually a progression gate
A recognized and installed expansion can still have no visible quest if the save has not reached the required point. Current launch guidance from PC Gamer reports that players begin the expansion by speaking with Captain Brant at the Stardrop Inn in Vernworth at night.
Check the starting conditions
- Load a save in the main game rather than assuming installation automatically creates a quest in every location.
- Go to the Stardrop Inn in Vernworth at night.
- Speak with Captain Brant and check whether the expansion conversation is available.
This reported starting point is gameplay guidance, not a platform installation fix. If the add-on is not owned or installed, speaking to Captain Brant cannot supply the missing license.

Understand the Unmoored World restriction
The same report says a save already in the Unmoored World cannot access the expansion until New Game+. If your current save is in that state, the absence of the quest can be a progression restriction rather than a failed download. Reach New Game+ as required, then check the reported starting point on the eligible save.
Because this progression information comes from secondary reporting rather than a Capcom support page, treat it as a gameplay condition to test after entitlement and installation are confirmed.
Separate items, bonuses, quests, and regions before troubleshooting
The expected appearance depends on what you bought. Capcom’s delivery guidance distinguishes Rift Crystals from other items and bonuses, and a quest-based expansion follows progression rules that an inventory bonus does not.

This distinction prevents a common mistake: reinstalling an item bonus because you expected a quest marker, or assuming a quest is missing when the purchase delivered only inventory content.

The add-on is not shown as owned
Stop in-game troubleshooting. Recheck the purchasing account, transaction status, region, and product name. If the store still does not show ownership, contact the platform’s purchase or account support. The reviewed sources do not provide a Dragon’s Dogma 2-specific recovery flow for an absent entitlement.

The add-on is owned but not installed
Open the platform’s DLC or add-on management area, select the content for installation, and wait for the download to complete. Restart the client or console afterward and verify that the status changed to installed.
The add-on is installed but no item appears
Launch the game, load the save, rest at an inn, and check the held Rift Crystal balance or innkeeper storage according to the content type. For the Explorer’s Camping Kit, check storage and the relevant in-game shop.
The add-on is installed but no quest appears
Confirm that the installed product is Dark Arisen, then check the reported Captain Brant starting point and the save’s progression. A save in the Unmoored World may require New Game+ before the expansion can be accessed.

Write down the exact wording before retrying. Confirm the account, platform, base-game edition, software version, and add-on version. On PS5, pay particular attention to version or rating compatibility. Escalate persistent entitlement or download errors through the platform or Capcom support channel rather than applying an unverified license-restoration procedure.

A precise report shortens the process because support can distinguish an entitlement failure from a normal delivery or progression condition. Include:
- Platform and console or PC storefront
- Account that purchased or redeemed the add-on
