If a character, vehicle, crossover pack, or other add-on is missing from Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, do not purchase it again yet. First prove that the DLC is attached to the account you are using, then check the platform’s installation control, update the game, and test whether the item is gated by progression or a particular mode. Physical-disc region mismatches and PC mods can also prevent apparently owned content from appearing.
The quickest reliable sequence is: verify the entitlement, reinstall or enable the add-on through Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo’s own controls, install the newest game update, relaunch, and then check the required game mode or unlock condition. The platform-specific paths below separate an account problem from an installation problem, so you can stop repeating the wrong fix.
Run these checks in order
Work through the checks in this order. Ownership and installation are separate: a store can show that you own an add-on while the game files are not installed, and an installed file cannot grant access to an entitlement that belongs to a different account.

- Check the DLC manager. Make sure the add-on is enabled or installed, and use the platform’s remove-and-add-back control if the launcher offers one.
- Check the disc and account region. This matters especially for physical console copies.
- Update CrossWorlds. SEGA says the latest game version is required for DLC access and online modes.
- Relaunch and check availability. Some content appears only after tutorial progress or in a specific part or mode of the game.
- Remove PC modifications temporarily. Custom files can interfere with DLC detection.
- Escalate with evidence. Give SEGA or the platform support team the account, receipt, DLC name, game version, and steps already completed.
Verify that the DLC belongs to the account you are using
Before changing files, identify the exact account that bought or redeemed the content. A family member’s profile, a second Steam or Epic account, a different console user, or a code redeemed in another region can make a legitimate purchase look missing.

Steam: inspect licenses and product-key activations
- Open the Steam launcher.
- Select your account name and open Account Details.
- Choose View licenses and product key activations.
- Search the list for the CrossWorlds add-on, crossover item, or pack name.
If the DLC is not in this license history, check whether you are signed into the Steam account that made the purchase or redeemed the key. Do not use the presence of the base game in your library as proof that every add-on is owned; DLC entitlements are listed separately.
Epic Games: check purchases and code redemptions separately
- Open your Epic Games account and select Manage Account.
- Open Transactions.
- Review both Purchases and Code Redemptions.
- Compare the listed item with the missing CrossWorlds content and confirm that this is the account used by the Epic Games launcher.
A code can be absent from Purchases but present under Code Redemptions, so check both views. If neither contains the item, resolve the account or transaction issue before attempting an installation repair.
Console accounts: verify the purchaser and the exact add-on
On PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo hardware, use the console user and store account that completed the purchase or redeemed the code. Check the account’s transaction or owned-content history and compare the exact pack name. A season pass, an individual character pack, an upgrade pack, and a bonus code can be separate entitlements even when their names are similar. If the item is not owned, the platform store is the place to verify what the account actually bought; avoid repurchasing until you have checked every account that may have been used.

Once ownership is confirmed, use the platform’s DLC controls. These controls determine whether the content files are present; they do not change which account owns the entitlement.

Steam reinstall toggle
In Steam’s Properties > DLC list, an enabled check box tells Steam to keep the add-on installed. Turning it off and back on makes Steam reconcile the DLC files. Wait for the download or installation activity to finish before launching CrossWorlds. If the add-on is not listed at all, return to the license check: a missing entry usually points to the account or purchase rather than a damaged file.
Epic Games reinstall toggle
Epic’s Manage Add-Ons screen uses a slider. Switch the missing content off, allow any change to complete, and switch it on again. SEGA notes that Manage Add-Ons may not be visible until the game is installed or an update is pending. If you cannot find the control, update or install the base game first, then reopen the game’s three-dot menu.

PlayStation installation
On PS4, the add-on is reached from the game’s PlayStation Store entry rather than the PS4 home-screen options used on PS5. On PS5, use Manage game content, wait until the download is complete, and relaunch CrossWorlds. Starting the game while the download is still in progress can leave the new content unavailable during that session.
Xbox installation and the “More add-ons” distinction
Xbox separates items that can be manually installed from items that are already owned and made available automatically. Under Manage installation, select the DLC shown as installable. Items displayed under More add-ons are owned but are not manually installable; do not keep trying to reinstall those entries. They should become accessible from inside the game after the entitlement and game version are correct.

This separation prevents a common mistake: treating every missing icon as a failed download. A visible entitlement with no install control is different from an installable add-on that has not finished downloading, and both differ from content that is present but locked by progression.
Check physical-disc and account-region compatibility
For a physical console copy, compare the disc’s regional rating or edition with the region of the account used to obtain the DLC. SEGA warns that a mismatch can block both paid and free add-ons. The base game may still launch normally, which makes this failure easy to mistake for an installation bug.
- Read the region or rating information on the disc packaging and compare it with the account and store region.
- Make sure the add-on was obtained for the same regional version of the game.
- If the regions do not match, reinstalling the same DLC will not correct the compatibility problem.
When a mismatch is confirmed, SEGA’s guidance is to request a refund through the relevant platform or obtain the physical game version intended for the account’s region. A refund is not guaranteed; the platform’s own refund rules decide eligibility. Do not assume that a free promotional add-on is exempt from regional checks.

SEGA’s CrossWorlds update notice dated 2026-10-08 states: "You must update to the latest version of the game to play online modes like World Match and access DLC." The notice listed Ver.1.4.3 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Epic Games.

Version numbers can change after that notice, so use your platform’s normal update command and install whatever version is currently offered rather than stopping at a particular number. After the update completes, close CrossWorlds completely and start it again. On consoles, allow the system to finish both the game update and any separate add-on download. On PC, wait for Steam or Epic to finish queued downloads before launching.
Check progression, mode, and file conflicts
The content may not be available immediately
SEGA’s general DLC guidance says that some content requires completing the tutorial or reaching a particular point in the game. Other items are usable only in the part of the game for which they were designed. A character or vehicle can therefore be owned and installed while remaining absent from an early-game selection screen.
- Complete the introductory tutorial and any required opening objectives.
- Look for the item in the mode or menu where that type of content is normally used, rather than assuming it appears in every mode.
- Check again after the game has saved the required progression and you have restarted it.
Do not treat an absent item in one mode as proof that the entitlement failed. First test the mode in which the pack is intended to operate.

SEGA warns that mods or custom files can interfere with DLC detection. On Steam or Epic, close the game, move third-party modifications and custom files out of the game’s installation or mod locations, and launch an unmodified copy. Test the DLC before restoring any modifications. If the content appears only with a clean installation, add modifications back one at a time to identify the conflict.
Special case: Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Pack and the Werehog code
A narrow eligibility exception applies to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack. SEGA’s notice, updated 2026-01-08, says that customers who bought the Upgrade Pack between 2025-12-03 and 2025-12-17 are entitled to a free Werehog DLC Pack code.
This is not a general repair for every missing Werehog or crossover item. If your purchase falls inside that window, submit a SEGA support request and include:

- the Upgrade Pack purchase date;
- the Nintendo account region; and
- proof of purchase.
Customers outside that specific purchase window should use the normal entitlement, installation, update, and progression checks instead. Keep the purchase evidence even if the Switch store shows the base game correctly; the Upgrade Pack and the code eligibility are separate details.

What to send support when the DLC is still missing
If the entitlement is visible, the platform reports the add-on as installed or automatically available, the game is current, and the item is not blocked by progression or mode, escalate rather than buying the content again. Contact SEGA or the platform support team, depending on whether the failure is account-specific or store-specific.
Include all of the following in one request:
- platform and console or PC launcher;
- the account identifier or store account used for the purchase, without sending a password;
- the exact DLC, crossover pack, character, or vehicle name;
- the purchase receipt or redemption confirmation;
- the game version currently shown by the platform;
- whether the copy is digital or physical and, if physical, its region;
- the installation result from the platform’s DLC manager; and
- the checks you already completed, including relaunching and testing without PC mods.
For the Switch 2 Werehog Upgrade Pack case, add the purchase date, account region, and proof of purchase requested in SEGA’s notice. Clear evidence lets support distinguish an unredeemed code, a regional incompatibility, a missing installation, and an in-game unlock condition.

Stop at the first failed entitlement check. If Steam license history, Epic Transactions, or the console’s owned-content record does not show the add-on, determine which account or code was used before opening the store checkout again. If ownership is present but the DLC manager does not show an installable file, use the platform repair path instead of buying another copy. A second purchase will not fix a disc-region mismatch, an outdated game, a mode restriction, or a mod conflict.
Once the item is confirmed as owned, installed or automatically available, and supported by the current game version, test it in the appropriate mode after a full relaunch. That sequence resolves the common causes without treating every missing icon as a new purchase problem.

Why does CrossWorlds show the base game but not my DLC?
The base game and each add-on are separate entitlements. Check Steam’s “View licenses and product key activations,” Epic’s Purchases and Code Redemptions, or the console account’s owned-content history. If the add-on is absent there, you are likely using a different account or code than the one that made the purchase.

Do I need to reinstall DLC that Xbox lists under “More add-ons”?
No. Xbox uses “More add-ons” for owned content that is not manually installable. Confirm the game is updated, relaunch it, and check the appropriate in-game mode instead of repeatedly trying to install that entry.
Why can’t I find Epic Games’ Manage Add-Ons option?
SEGA notes that the control may appear only after the base game is installed or an update is needed. Install or update CrossWorlds, reopen the game’s three-dot menu in Library, and check Manage Add-Ons again.
Can a physical disc region stop free DLC from working?
Yes. SEGA warns that a mismatch between the disc’s regional version and the account or store region can block paid and free add-ons. Reinstalling will not fix that incompatibility; platform refund rules or a matching regional game copy may be necessary.
Is Ver.1.4.3 still the required update?
