If Saints Row: The Third Remastered crashes, stutters, or does not recognize a controller, work through the fixes in this order: verify that you have the iOS release and a supported device, close the game and other apps, restart and update the device, check storage, then reconnect a supported gamepad. Fix Saints Row: The Third Remastered crashes, freezes, or sudden closes
A crash can happen at launch, while loading a save, or during play. The safest first response is a short, reversible sequence. The steps are general iOS troubleshooting practices; they are not a published diagnosis that a particular Saints Row bug has a particular cause.
- Close the game completely. On an iPhone or iPad without a Home button, swipe up from the bottom and pause to open the app switcher; on a device with a Home button, press it twice. Swipe the game’s card upward. Reopen it from the Home Screen.
- Close other demanding apps. Remove unnecessary cards from the app switcher before launching the game again. This releases background memory and gives the game a cleaner session.
- Restart the device. Use the normal power-off control, wait until the screen is fully off, then turn the iPhone or iPad back on. A restart clears temporary system state without deleting the game or its saves.
- Install the latest game update. Open the App Store, tap your account picture, and check the pending updates list. Update Saints Row: The Third Remastered if it appears.
- Update iOS or iPadOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update. The App Store listing requires iOS 18 or later, and an older operating system can also prevent a current build from installing or running correctly.
- Check free storage. Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage or iPad Storage. Remove or offload unused apps, downloaded video, and other large files if the device is nearly full. Low available storage is a general contributor to app crashes and slow behavior, but the listing does not establish that it caused your specific Saints Row crash.
- Test the game again before changing several variables. Launch it after each major step. If it now works, you know which change helped and can avoid unnecessary resets.
If the crash happens immediately at launch
Start with the compatibility table rather than repeatedly reinstalling. A device below the A12 Bionic requirement or an iOS version below 18 is outside the current App Store requirements. If the device meets both requirements, make sure the installation completed and that there is room for an update. A failed or incomplete update can leave an app unable to launch even when the hardware is supported.

If the crash happens during loading or after a specific action
Write down the exact point: a particular save, mission, menu, or controller action. Try one clean launch after closing other apps and restarting. Do not delete saved data as a first response. If only one save repeatedly causes the close while other saves open, tell Feral that distinction; it gives support a more useful reproduction path than a generic “it crashes.”

If the game still closes after compatibility, restart, update, and storage checks, reinstalling is a general iOS recovery option, not a Feral-published fix for this title. First determine how your progress is stored and whether it is synchronized or otherwise backed up. Then open Settings > General > iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage), select the game, and choose the appropriate offload or delete option. Reinstall from the App Store and test before restoring other changes. Deleting an app can remove local data, so do not use this step when losing an unsynchronized save would be worse than the crash.

Fix lag, stutter, or slow response
“Lag” can describe several experiences: uneven animation, delayed touch input, long loading, or menus that take time to respond. The available material does not provide a Saints Row-specific frame-rate target, crash rate, benchmark, or confirmed performance bug. Free storage without deleting important data
- In Settings > General > iPhone Storage or iPad Storage, sort by the largest apps and media first.
- Remove downloads that can be obtained again, such as offline video or music, before deleting irreplaceable photos or documents.
- Keep enough working room for the game’s large download and for an update to unpack. The 17.6 GB figure is the United States listing size and may change.
- Restart after freeing space, then test the game in a new session.
Reduce background load
Close apps you are not using before launching the game, especially other games, video editors, or apps that keep large documents in memory. A restart is more reliable than repeatedly swiping a few cards when the device has been running for a long time. Do not interpret a smoother session after this step as proof of a permanent game defect; it only shows that the current device state affected the test.

Separate rendering stutter from connection problems

Pair a controller using standard iOS controls

Keep the report within what is known
