Start with reversible checks: restart the phone, note the exact message and when it appears, and check whether the problem affects one app or the whole device. Before following menu instructions, identify your exact phone model and software version; settings and procedures differ across TECNO, Infinix, and itel models, HiOS versions, carriers, and countries.
Before troubleshooting: identify the phone and the symptom
Write down the model name, software version, the exact error wording, and when the problem began. Note whether it happens every time or intermittently, and whether anything changed immediately beforehand, such as a location, SIM, app update, cable, or adapter. These details help distinguish a phone fault from a carrier, app, or accessory issue.
Menu labels vary. TECNO’s official support site provides phone and HiOS resources, user guides and downloads, community support, and a route to Carlcare repair centers. Use the regional support page and the manual for your exact model rather than assuming a menu path from another handset.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIt helps to separate what you know from what you suspect. For example, record “Network Disconnected appears at home and at work” rather than concluding that the phone’s network hardware has failed. Record “the phone does not charge with this cable” rather than assuming the battery is the cause. A clear symptom record helps carrier or repair staff decide which model-specific checks to recommend.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use a low-risk order
- Observe: record the error and check whether it affects one feature, one app, or the whole phone.
- Try a reversible check: restart the phone; check a different location, outlet, or accessory only when relevant to the symptom.
- Consult the exact model’s guide: use it before handling a SIM tray, changing device settings, or attempting a recovery procedure.
- Escalate: contact the carrier for service questions or official local support for persistent faults, damage, or repair decisions.
Change one thing at a time when practical. If you try several changes together, it may be hard to tell which one affected the symptom. After each check, note whether the issue stopped, changed, or remained the same. This also gives support a useful account of what has already been tried.
A factory reset is not a routine first step. It can remove data, and the appropriate recovery process depends on the model. Back up important information and consult the model-specific instructions before considering one. Similarly, do not use unfamiliar menus or recovery options just because they appear to offer a quick fix.
“No Service” or “Network Disconnected”
itel’s official troubleshooting index includes “No Service” and “Network Disconnected” as support topics. Those labels identify problems users may need help with; they do not establish a single fix for every handset, network, or cause.
Check whether the issue follows the location or the phone
- Check whether the message persists in another location. If service changes by location, that is useful information to share with your carrier; it does not by itself prove the cause.
- If available, check whether another device on the same carrier has service in the same place. If both are affected, ask the carrier about local service or account issues. If only your phone is affected, continue with handset-specific checks.
- Restart the phone. As general Android troubleshooting, you can also toggle airplane mode off and on; this is not a brand-specific procedure, and menu labels can vary.
- If you plan to check or reseat the SIM, follow the exact phone manual. Do not force the tray. If it resists or the tray or SIM appears damaged, stop and contact official support.
- If the problem continues, contact the carrier to check service and SIM-related issues, then consult official support for your exact model if the carrier cannot account for the fault.
Record the locations and times when service fails, whether another device on the carrier is affected, and the exact displayed message. That narrows the problem without jumping to a reset or an unsupported settings change.
Think of this as a comparison, not a diagnosis. If the same phone loses service in more than one place while another device on the same carrier works, the contrast is worth reporting to the carrier and the phone’s support team. If several devices on that carrier have trouble in the same area, the carrier is a sensible first contact. Neither comparison proves the underlying cause, but both help direct the next question.
A SIM check is not necessary just because the message mentions a network. If you do inspect it, use the model manual’s instructions and stop if the tray will not release normally. Avoid improvised tools or force. If you are unsure how to access the SIM safely, ask the carrier or official phone support instead.

Calls have poor quality or keep dropping
itel lists call-quality issues in its troubleshooting index, but the index does not prescribe a universal fix. First note whether the problem affects every call or only certain calls, times, or places.
- Compare calls in another location. A change in call quality is useful evidence to discuss with the carrier, not proof that the handset is fault-free.
- Ask whether the other person also hears the problem. If possible, compare with another call under similar conditions.
- Restart the phone and note whether the symptom changes. Avoid changing unfamiliar network settings unless the exact model’s guide or carrier support directs you to do so.
- If calls remain poor in multiple locations, contact the carrier and consult the model’s official support resources. Share whether the issue affects incoming calls, outgoing calls, or both.
When describing a call problem, distinguish poor sound from a dropped connection. Note whether calls fail to connect, disconnect after connecting, or remain connected but sound unclear. Include whether incoming calls, outgoing calls, or both are affected. These observations make it easier to decide whether to start with carrier questions or model-specific support.
A location comparison can also help: note where the call was made and whether the symptom changed elsewhere. Avoid treating one good call as proof that the problem is gone, or one bad call as proof the phone needs repair. If the issue is intermittent, provide several examples and times rather than only the most recent one.
The phone will not charge
Begin with the connection and the condition of the charger and cable. The surfaced itel P55 5G manual excerpt advises checking that the charger and cable are securely connected and undamaged. That instruction is specific to the cited model; it does not establish a universal charging procedure or accessory specification for all TECNO, Infinix, and itel phones.
- Check that the wall outlet works and that the charger and cable are securely connected at both ends.
- Inspect the cable and adapter. Stop using either if it is visibly damaged. Do not open the phone or try to manipulate its battery.
- If you test a different charger or cable, use one that matches the requirements for your exact model. Check the phone’s manual or official support before buying a replacement; connector and charging specifications are not established here for every model.
- If the phone still does not charge, or the connection appears damaged, stop troubleshooting the hardware yourself and contact official local support.
Do not assume that a replacement accessory with a connector that fits is suitable. The exact model’s specification is the reference for compatibility.

Keep this check simple and safe: look for visible damage and confirm that connections are secure. If an accessory is damaged, stop using it rather than trying to repair it. If you are considering a replacement cable or charger, first check your own phone’s stated requirements. The itel P55 5G manual excerpt supports inspecting the connection and condition of the charger and cable, but it does not identify one connector type or charging rating that can be recommended across these brands.

If the outlet and accessories appear sound but charging still fails, repeated plugging, opening the phone, or attempting battery work is not a safe next step. Contact official local support and explain which outlet and accessories you checked and whether anything looked damaged. If the phone itself is physically damaged, stop troubleshooting and ask about authorized service.
An app crashes or the phone becomes slow or unresponsive
First establish the scope. If one app fails while other functions work, focus on that app. If several apps fail or the entire phone stops responding, record that distinction for support rather than assuming the app is the cause.
If one app crashes
- Restart the phone and check whether the same app still crashes.
- Check the app’s official store for an available update. The appropriate update route depends on how the app was installed.
- Before clearing app storage, check whether important app data is backed up or synced. Clearing storage can remove local data; do not proceed unless you understand what the app may lose.
- If the problem persists, use the app provider’s support and the phone’s official model or HiOS resources rather than applying instructions written for a different software version.
Pay attention to whether the same app fails repeatedly or whether the problem moves between apps. If only one app is affected, report the app name and what you were doing when it crashed. If other apps and phone functions continue to work, say so; that is a useful distinction, not proof of the cause.

An update check is a low-risk step, but use the app’s official store or the route through which it was installed. Before clearing storage, treat the decision as potentially destructive: local information may be removed. Confirm that you understand what is stored on the phone versus backed up or synced before proceeding. If that is unclear, leave storage alone and ask the app provider or official phone support.
If multiple apps fail or the phone stops responding
Note which functions still work, how often the phone freezes, and whether the issue began after a particular change. Restarting is a low-risk general check. If the phone repeatedly becomes unresponsive, consult the exact model’s support resources or an authorized local service center. Avoid a factory reset unless the model-specific guidance supports it and important data is backed up.
Describe the difference between a brief slowdown and a phone that cannot respond. Note whether you can still use other functions, whether the issue happens repeatedly, and whether it began after an app or software change. Do not assume a reset is the next step merely because more than one app is affected. A reset can remove data, and the appropriate process depends on the handset and software version.

Recovery mode and other unfamiliar screens
itel’s official troubleshooting index includes a topic for web recovery mode. An index entry is not an instruction to enter recovery mode or proof that a particular recovery action suits every itel model. If an unfamiliar recovery screen appears, do not select an option you do not understand. Check the exact model’s manual or ask official support how to proceed; available options and their effects can vary by handset.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When to contact official support or arrange repair
Escalate when basic checks do not resolve a persistent problem, the phone is physically damaged, or charging or network faults continue. TECNO’s official support site directs users to model and HiOS resources and to Carlcare repair centers. Carlcare describes itself as the official customer-service provider for Infinix, TECNO, and itel, and lists repair, service-center lookup, warranty checks, and repair status. Availability and warranty terms must be checked for your country and model.
- Use the official regional support page and the exact model’s guide for device-specific steps.
- Use local service-center and warranty-check options to confirm what is available where you live.
- Ask about warranty eligibility before authorizing paid work; coverage and repair prices are not established universally.
- Provide the model, software version, exact error, when it began, checks already tried, and whether the fault changes across locations, apps, or accessories.
Do not open the phone or attempt battery work. For repair or warranty decisions, use authorized local support and verify the applicable terms rather than assuming a policy from another country applies.
Before contacting support, gather the notes you have already made: model and software version, exact message, when it started, how often it happens, and what safe checks changed or did not change the symptom. For network and call issues, include locations and whether another device on the carrier is affected. For charging complaints, say which outlet and accessories you checked and whether any were visibly damaged. For app issues, say whether one app or several are affected.

Choose the next step by what the problem affects
| What you observe | Useful first distinction | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| “No Service” or “Network Disconnected” | Does service vary by location, and do other devices on the same carrier have service? | Try reversible checks, then ask the carrier about service or SIM issues; consult model support if the handset remains affected. |
| Poor call quality | Does it happen in particular places or on every call? Does the other party hear it too? | Record the pattern, compare locations, and contact the carrier or model support as appropriate. |
| Charging failure | Are the outlet and connections sound, and are the charger and cable undamaged? | Stop using damaged accessories; check the exact model’s accessory requirements and seek support if charging still fails. |
| One app crashes | Do other apps and phone functions work? | Restart, check the app’s official store for an update, and consider local-data loss before clearing storage. |
| Multiple apps fail or the whole phone freezes | Is the problem device-wide rather than limited to one app? | Record the pattern, restart, and consult exact-model support if it recurs; do not treat a reset as the default fix. |
| Physical damage or a persistent fault | Could further DIY action risk damage or data loss? | Stop hardware troubleshooting and check authorized local service and warranty options. |
The pattern determines the safest next contact. A location-dependent network issue calls for carrier questions and careful comparison; an isolated app crash points first to that app’s official update and support route; damaged hardware or persistent charging trouble calls for local authorized service. When a symptom does not fit neatly into one category, share the observations with official support rather than forcing a diagnosis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are “No Service” and “Network Disconnected” the same problem?
They are separate labels on itel’s troubleshooting index, but neither label establishes a single cause or fix. Record the exact message, test whether service changes by location, and ask the carrier about service or SIM issues if needed. Use your exact model’s manual for any SIM handling.
Should I factory-reset my TECNO, Infinix, or itel phone if it is slow?
A factory reset is not a routine first step. It can remove data, and the correct recovery process depends on the model. Start with reversible checks such as restarting, back up important information, and follow model-specific official guidance before considering a reset.
Can I use any charger or cable that fits my phone?
No universal charger specification is established for all TECNO, Infinix, and itel models. Check the requirements for your exact phone in its manual or official support resources. Stop using visibly damaged chargers or cables.
What should I do if only one app keeps crashing?
Restart the phone and check the app’s official store for an update. If you consider clearing app storage, first confirm whether important local data is backed up or synced because clearing storage can remove it. For ongoing problems, contact the app provider or consult your phone’s model-specific support resources.
Where can I check warranty or find an authorized repair center?
TECNO’s official support site provides model and HiOS resources and a route to Carlcare repair centers. Carlcare lists repair, service-center lookup, warranty checks, and repair status for Infinix, TECNO, and itel. Verify availability and warranty terms for your country and model.
Is it safe to remove the SIM or choose an option in recovery mode?
Only handle the SIM according to your exact model’s manual, and do not force a resistant tray. If an unfamiliar recovery screen appears, do not select an option you do not understand; check the manual or ask official support because options and effects vary by handset.
