If your OPPO phone running ColorOS 16 is losing charge unusually quickly, start with the setting OPPO specifically warns about: open Settings > Battery > High Performance Mode and turn it off unless you currently need maximum performance. 2. Use the battery page to identify what is actually using power
Open the phone’s Settings > Battery page and inspect the usage information and labels presented there. ColorOS 16 devices do not all expose the same per-app menu path or controls, so do not assume that another model’s instructions will match yours. Look for an app, feature or activity whose share of consumption is out of proportion to how much you used it.
Record what you see before changing several things. Note the phone model, software build, region, battery percentage, time period shown, and the activities that appear at the top. This creates a baseline for a later comparison and gives OPPO support useful information if the problem continues. A high percentage by itself is not a diagnosis: a navigation, camera or video session can legitimately consume more power than an app used briefly.
Check compatibility before you troubleshoot

- Check the Battery page again. Compare the same type of use rather than comparing a busy day with an idle day. Look for a change in overall drain and in the activity list.
- Investigate the leading activity. Follow the labels and controls displayed on your particular device. The available screens may differ, so use only controls that your handset actually provides.
- Change one additional setting, if needed. Keep a short note of what you changed and when. This makes it possible to reverse a change that does not help.
- Escalate when the pattern is abnormal. Sudden drain, persistent drain after reasonable testing, or unusual heat warrants model-specific OPPO support or service.

How to use Super power saving mode safely
When you are close to running out of charge and have no convenient charger, open Settings > Battery > Super power saving mode if it appears on your phone. OPPO describes this as a temporary conservation option. It limits the home screen to six apps that you choose and applies targeted strategies including CPU frequency scaling and screen-brightness adjustment.
Choose the six apps you are most likely to need before confirming the mode. For example, you might prioritize calling, messaging, maps or a work authenticator, depending on your situation. The mode is useful because it trades convenience and performance for extra operating time; it is not evidence that the underlying drain has been fixed. Exit it when you can recharge and resume normal troubleshooting.

Reading battery-usage information without overdiagnosing
When an app appears at the top
First ask whether the app performed a power-intensive task during the displayed period. When the phone is hot

Compare changes fairly
Do not compare a test made with High Performance Mode disabled against one made while recording 4K video, using navigation continuously or playing a demanding game. Keep the principal activity, connection type and approximate duration similar. If your routine changes from day to day, make several notes rather than treating one percentage change as conclusive.
It is also useful to record whether Super power saving mode was active. Its six-app limit, CPU frequency scaling and brightness adjustment deliberately change the phone’s workload. A longer runtime in that mode shows that conservation measures work under restricted conditions; it does not show that normal ColorOS 16 operation has been repaired.

The battery is low and you need the phone for essential tasks
Use Super power saving mode if it is available. Select up to six essential apps from the restricted home screen and plan to recharge as soon as practical.
