If Canva Pro tools or templates are missing on a Samsung Galaxy phone, start by checking where the Canva app was installed. Canva removed its app from the Samsung Galaxy Store on June 30, 2025 and says that installation will no longer receive updates or support. Install Canva from Google Play where available, or use Canva in a supported mobile browser, then sign in to the same Canva account. Next update the Canva app and Android System WebView, verify the account, team and subscription that should provide Pro access, and look for templates in the current Templates tab. This sequence separates an unsupported app installation from an account entitlement problem or a navigation change.
Use this order to find the cause
The symptom can mean several different things: the app itself is an unsupported Galaxy Store build, the Android components are too old, the phone is signed into a different Canva account or team, the subscription was purchased through another Google account, or the Templates area is simply in a different place after Canva’s mobile navigation changes. Check each possibility in this order so you do not change a subscription when the app installation is the real problem.
- Identify the installation source. If Canva came from the Samsung Galaxy Store, replace it with the Google Play app where supported or use a supported browser.
- Update the software Canva requires. Canva lists Android System WebView 99 or higher and requires Android app version 2.328.0 or later.
- Confirm the Canva account and team. A Pro plan belongs to the account or workspace that purchased or received it.
- Check the plan’s included features. Paid access does not automatically mean every Canva feature is included in every plan.
- Find Templates in the current mobile layout. Canva is gradually rolling out navigation changes, so two phones may show different tabs.
- Contact Canva Support with diagnostic details if a supported, updated installation still lacks an entitled feature.
Check whether Canva came from the Samsung Galaxy Store
This is the most important check for a Galaxy phone. Canva says it removed the app from the Samsung Galaxy Store on June 30, 2025. Canva also says it will not provide updates or support for Canva installed from that store. An old Galaxy Store installation may therefore show errors, missing functions, sign-in or saving problems, or eventually stop working even though the phone itself is compatible.

How to identify the source
- Open the Galaxy phone’s app list and locate Canva.
- Open the Galaxy Store and search for Canva. If the installed copy is managed there, or the app’s store page identifies the Galaxy Store installation, treat it as the unsupported build.
- If you are unsure, uninstall the old copy only after confirming that you know the email, sign-in method and team used for your Canva account. Designs are associated with the Canva account rather than the physical app installation.
Do not expect an update to restore Pro tools in the discontinued store version. Canva’s published guidance is to move to an available supported installation.

Move to Google Play
- Open Google Play Store on the Galaxy phone.
- Search for Canva and install the official app shown by Google Play.
- Open the new installation and choose the same sign-in method you used previously, such as email, Google sign-in or another identity provider.
- Select the same Canva account and, if prompted, the same team or workspace.
- Open an existing design to confirm that your account data is present before checking the missing Pro tool or template.
Google Play availability can vary by device and region. If the app is not offered for your phone, use Canva in a supported mobile browser instead of relying on the unsupported Galaxy Store copy.
Use a supported mobile browser when the app is unavailable
- Open the browser already supported on your Android phone.
- Go to Canva’s official website by entering the address manually or using a trusted bookmark.
- Sign in to the same Canva account and team.
- Open the design or template area and check whether the feature appears in the browser.
A browser test is useful for separating an installation problem from an account problem. If the feature appears in the browser but not in the app, focus on the app installation, app version or mobile navigation. If it is missing in both places, verify the account, team and plan.
Compare the three installation choices

Canva’s guidance supports the Google Play and browser routes, but it does not establish that every Galaxy model or region supports every route. Availability on your phone is the deciding factor.

- Android System WebView 99 or higher.
- Canva Android app version 2.328.0 or later. Canva says an Android app version earlier than 2.328.0 must be updated to continue using Canva.
These are Canva’s published minimum requirements, not a promise that every Galaxy model will expose every Pro feature. Meeting them removes a known compatibility issue; it does not change which features a particular plan includes.
Update the Canva app
- Open Google Play Store.
- Search for Canva or open the Play Store account area and view available app updates.
- Tap Update if an update is offered. If you are still using the Galaxy Store copy, install the Google Play version instead of looking for an update there.
- Reopen Canva after the update and sign in again if requested.
If Google Play does not offer an update, check the app’s information page for the installed version and confirm that it is at least 2.328.0. The exact menu wording can differ between Android and One UI releases.
Update Android System WebView
- Open Google Play Store.
- Search for Android System WebView.
- Install or update it when an update is available.
- Restart Canva and test the missing Pro tool or template again.
WebView is an Android component used by apps to display web-based content. Canva specifically lists version 99 or higher in its technical requirements. If your phone cannot reach that version because of its Android or manufacturer support status, the browser route may be the practical alternative.
Check the internet connection without assuming it is the cause
Canva recommends a stable internet connection for using the service. A weak connection can prevent pages from loading, but the available Canva guidance does not establish that connectivity specifically removes Pro tools or template listings. Use a stable connection while testing so an incomplete load is not mistaken for an entitlement problem.

Verify the Canva account, team and subscription
Once the installation and Android requirements are in order, confirm that the phone is using the account that owns the paid access. A common cause of an apparently missing Pro feature is signing into a second Canva account or selecting a team that does not hold the subscription.
Confirm the signed-in identity
- Open Canva’s account or profile area.
- Record the email address or sign-in method shown there.
- Compare it with the account used when the Canva plan was purchased or assigned.
- If you belong to multiple teams or workspaces, switch to the team that holds the plan and test the feature again.
Signing out and back in is useful only if you deliberately choose the correct identity. Repeating the same sign-in method will not help when that method leads to a different Canva account.
Check a subscription purchased through Google Play
For a subscription bought through Google Play, Canva says to check the Google account used for the purchase and to manage the subscription through Google Play. The Google account that is currently active in Play Store may not be the one that paid for Canva.
- Open Google Play Store and check which Google account is active.
- Switch to the purchasing Google account if more than one account is configured on the phone.
- Open the Play Store subscription-management area and confirm that the Canva subscription is active.
- Return to Canva and sign in to the Canva account associated with that purchase.
Cancellation and subscription-management steps depend on the original purchase channel. A Google Play purchase should be managed in Google Play; changing accounts in Canva does not transfer the purchase to another identity.

Compare the expected feature with the active plan
Canva describes Pro as including premium tools, templates and content, but feature access depends on the plan and can change as Canva’s product tiers change. Check Canva’s current plan information against the exact tool you expect to use. Do not assume that any paid plan includes every premium item, or that a feature available in one team is available in another.
Write down the exact name of the missing item. “Pro is missing” is less useful than a specific description such as a particular background-removal tool, a named template category or a premium asset marked with a crown icon. The exact name helps distinguish an entitlement issue from a search or loading issue.

Canva says navigation changes are rolling out gradually, so the steps in its help article may not match every user’s screen. The tab may be in a different position, or a shortcut may appear under another section while the rollout reaches your account.

Browse or search from Templates
- Open the Canva mobile app.
- Look across the bottom navigation for Templates. If the five-tab layout is not visible, inspect More and the current home navigation for a Templates entry.
- Tap Templates.
- Browse by category or use the search field for a specific template type.
- Tap a result to open it, then choose the option to customize it.
Search for the template type rather than only the word “Pro.” A template may be premium because it contains a premium element, while the category itself is still discoverable through Templates.
If the Templates tab is absent
- Confirm that you are in the Canva app rather than a design editor with a different toolbar.
- Update the app to the current Google Play version.
- Inspect More and the home screen for Templates.
- Use Canva in a supported mobile browser and sign in to the same account.
- Compare the browser result with the app. A browser-only difference points toward the app version or navigation rollout; a difference in both places points toward account, plan or availability.
Because Canva is changing navigation gradually, an online screenshot or another person’s phone is not proof that your account is missing a feature. Use the controls currently shown on your device and keep the app updated.
Separate a missing feature from a missing template
These symptoms require different checks.
When a Pro tool is missing
- Check the installation source first, especially if Canva came from Galaxy Store.
- Confirm Canva app version 2.328.0 or later and Android System WebView 99 or higher.
- Verify the Canva account and team.
- Check the Google Play account if the subscription was purchased there.
- Compare the exact tool with the current plan’s included features.
When templates are hard to find
- Open the current Templates tab or locate Templates under the mobile navigation’s available sections.
- Search by template type or browse categories.
- Update the app before judging the layout.
- Remember that Canva’s navigation rollout is gradual and may differ between users.
- Test the same account in a supported browser if the app’s tab is missing.
A Pro entitlement check cannot restore a tab hidden by a navigation change, and changing navigation cannot grant a plan feature that the active account does not include.

What to do when the problem remains
Contact Canva Support after you have tested a supported installation, current Android components, the correct account and team, and the plan’s scope. Give Support enough information to distinguish those causes instead of reporting only that “Pro is missing.”
Include these details
- The phone model and Android version.
- Whether Canva came from Samsung Galaxy Store, Google Play or a browser.
- The Canva app version, if you are using the app.
- The Android System WebView version.
- The Canva account and team selected when the problem occurs.
- The plan and its purchase channel, including Google Play if applicable.
- The exact Pro tool or template name that is missing.
- Whether the same item appears in a supported mobile browser.
- A screenshot with personal, payment and private design information removed.
State what happens when you try to open the item: it may be absent from search, visible but locked, unavailable only in the editor, or replaced by an error. Those are different symptoms and help Support identify the relevant account, app or navigation path.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Continuing to use the Galaxy Store build. Canva says that build is no longer updated or supported after June 30, 2025.
- Creating a new Canva account during troubleshooting. A new account will not automatically contain the designs, team or subscription attached to the original account.
- Checking only the phone’s Google account. The Google account used for Play Store does not by itself prove that the Canva account currently open is the one with Pro access.
- Assuming every paid plan has identical benefits. Check the exact plan and feature rather than relying on the word “paid.”
- Treating a different navigation layout as a removed feature. Canva says mobile navigation changes are being rolled out gradually.
- Reporting the issue without versions or installation source. Support cannot easily distinguish an unsupported store build from an account entitlement problem without those details.
Decision checklist
Use this short checklist before changing plans or replacing the phone:
- Was Canva installed from the Samsung Galaxy Store? If yes, move to Google Play where available or a supported browser.
- Is the Canva app at least version 2.328.0?
- Is Android System WebView version 99 or higher?
- Are you signed into the Canva account and team that hold the plan?
- If Google Play billed the subscription, are you checking the purchasing Google account?
- Does the current plan include the exact tool or premium content?
- Have you checked Templates in the current mobile navigation and searched by template type?
- Does the item appear in a supported browser with the same account?
- Have you collected the device, app, WebView, account, plan and symptom details for Support?
This process addresses the causes established by Canva’s app-support, technical-requirements, subscription and mobile-navigation guidance without assuming that a particular Galaxy model, region or account has the same interface as another user.
