The TVS Ntorq 125’s SmartXonnect features use Bluetooth to connect the scooter’s instrument cluster to a phone running TVS Connect. Navigation guidance comes from the phone’s GPS and maps and is shown on the cluster; the available TVS material does not establish that the cluster has a standalone GPS receiver. Whether your connection is working efficiently depends on the scooter’s variant, phone, app, and settings, so check those before suspecting a scooter fault.
What the Ntorq’s Bluetooth and navigation do
TVS describes SmartXonnect as a phone-to-instrument-cluster connection. For navigation, the smartphone provides GPS and map information, while the connected cluster displays turn-by-turn guidance. This means a navigation problem can involve the phone’s location signal or app as well as the Bluetooth link. TVS’s connection guide and its 2018 launch announcement describe the connected system, but they do not provide a published Bluetooth reliability or navigation-accuracy benchmark.
Check that your Ntorq has SmartXonnect
Start by identifying the scooter’s model year, variant, and market. Connected-feature availability can vary by version and region; the question alone does not establish which Ntorq you own. TVS describes SmartXonnect on Ntorq variants in its materials, but that does not confirm feature availability on every current trim or in every market. If you are unsure, check the owner documentation for your scooter or ask a TVS dealer to verify the variant.

Pair the phone with the instrument cluster
- Switch on the scooter and keep the phone close to it.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the phone.
- Open TVS Connect and use the app’s Connect function to search for the scooter’s cluster.
- Select the cluster found by the app and follow the prompts displayed by the app or vehicle.
TVS’s instructions do not support one universal pairing PIN for every phone and vehicle, so follow the prompts for your setup rather than relying on a PIN found in an unrelated guide. See the TVS Connect instructions.

If pairing works but the phone will not reconnect
Automatic reconnection requires the scooter to be on and nearby, Bluetooth to be enabled on the phone, and a prior successful pairing. Background operation and power settings can also interfere. TVS’s Ntorq owner manual says an iPhone app should remain open or in the background. For Android, it flags battery optimization and background operation as possible factors, with instructions referring to Android versions above 8.0; menu names and behavior may differ on current phone software.
- Allow TVS Connect to run in the background.
- Check the app’s battery-optimization setting and, as a temporary diagnostic, turn off battery saver.
- Review location permissions and background location access if navigation or location-related features are failing.
- Allow time for reconnection: the manual says automatic pairing can take up to five minutes.
These checks are especially relevant when initial pairing succeeds but the connection drops or does not return automatically.

If Bluetooth connects but navigation does not appear
Separate the navigation issue from the Bluetooth connection: if the app and cluster are connected, check that a route is set up in the app, the phone’s location service is enabled, and TVS Connect has the location access it needs. Also check that the app can operate in the background if you expect guidance while it is not on screen. The precise menus depend on your phone and operating-system version; these are general checks, not quoted TVS menu paths.
When to contact TVS service
If TVS Connect still cannot discover or hold the cluster after checking the phone’s Bluetooth, app permissions, and background restrictions, contact an authorized TVS service center for model-specific inspection. The available instructions do not establish a particular cluster defect or justify replacing the instrument cluster based only on an unspecified symptom.
