If Beast of Reincarnation will not update, first save your game, quit completely, and launch it again. Updates normally download when the game starts. If you declined the first prompt, run the platform’s manual update check: Check for Updates on PS5, Manage Game and add-ons > Updates on Xbox Series X|S, or Steam’s Update button and Library > Downloads queue.
Verify the installed build in the bottom-right corner of the title screen before troubleshooting further. Version numbers change as patches roll out, so use the latest dated notice rather than an older support article.
Identify the failure before changing anything
The symptom usually points to the correct fix. Use this quick triage table, then follow the detailed procedure for your platform.

Check the version on the title screen
The version appears in the bottom-right corner of the title screen. Do not assume that a number from an older guide is still current. Fictions’ August 15, 2026 support article listed one set of builds, while an October 2026 developer notice listed newer builds. The later notice takes precedence.

PS5 notices may display the same release with a leading zero format, such as 01.012.000 or v1.012.000. Compare the complete number shown by the current notice and your title screen, not just the first digit. If your platform has not received the newer build yet, the rollout may still be in progress.
Run the automatic update retry first
The October 16, 2026 developer notice says updates download automatically when the game launches, whether you own a physical or digital edition. It also says the game can be played without the patch, although updating is recommended, and that rollout timing can differ by platform.
- Save your progress in the normal in-game way.
- Exit the game completely rather than leaving it suspended.
- Wait for the platform to return to its library or home screen.
- Launch Beast of Reincarnation again.
- Allow the update prompt or download to finish before starting the game.
- Open the title screen and record the version in the bottom-right corner.
This relaunch is the correct first response when the initial prompt was missed, dismissed, or never appeared. If no download starts, continue with the manual platform procedure below.

Use the PS5 library entry when the game does not update at launch or when you accidentally declined the prompt.
- Open the PS5 game library.
- Highlight Beast of Reincarnation without launching it.
- Press the controller’s Options button.
- Select Check for Updates.
- If an update is offered, confirm the download and let it install.
- Launch the game and read the title-screen version.
The older support procedure used 01.006.000 as its expected PS5 build. The later October notice lists 01.012.000, so use the later number when deciding whether the current rollout has reached your console. A title screen that still shows the older build after the check means the update has not installed; run the check again after the platform finishes processing the download.
If PS5 says the game is up to date
First compare the title-screen number with the dated version table, because an “up to date” message can refer to the build currently available to your console. If the game launches normally but the title screen remains on the older build, save, quit, and repeat Options > Check for Updates after the console has finished any queued activity.
Xbox Series X|S: open the Updates panel
On Xbox Series consoles, the manual command is inside the game’s management screen rather than the launch prompt.

- Open your game library.
- Highlight Beast of Reincarnation.
- Press the controller’s Options/Start button.
- Choose Manage Game and add-ons.
- Scroll to Updates.
- Start any available update and wait for the installation to complete.
- Launch the game and verify the title-screen build.
The August support article referenced 1.0.8.0 for Xbox Series. The October notice lists 1.1.1.0, which is the newer reference. If the Updates panel is empty, close the game, relaunch it, and then check the panel again; the developer says launch is when automatic downloading is initiated.
Steam: force the update and inspect the download queue
Steam exposes both the game-level update command and a central queue. Check both so you can distinguish “no update detected” from “update waiting to download.”
- Open Steam and select Library.
- Select Beast of Reincarnation.
- Click Update where the Play button normally appears.
- Open Library > Downloads.
- Check whether the game is actively downloading, paused, queued behind another item, or still processing files.
- Allow the download and installation to finish.
- Launch the game and read the version in the bottom-right corner of the title screen.
Steam’s August support procedure used 1.0.8.0. The later October notice lists 1.1.1.0, so use that newer build as the comparison point. A queued entry is not the same as a failed update: leave the queue open long enough to see whether Steam begins transferring or processing the files.
If the Steam Update button is missing
Exit the game if it is running, return to its Library page, and look again for Update. Then open Library > Downloads to see whether Steam has placed the patch in the queue. Relaunching the game is also important because the developer describes launch as the automatic-update trigger for both editions.

Declining the prompt does not require a separate recovery download. Reopen the game’s library entry and manually invoke the platform’s normal update command:
- PS5: Options > Check for Updates.
- Xbox Series X|S: Options/Start > Manage Game and add-ons > Updates.
- Steam: select the game, press Update, then inspect Library > Downloads.
After installation, verify the title-screen version. The manual check is the documented recovery path for a dismissed prompt; it is not necessary to search for a separate patch file.
When the download does not start or will not finish
Separate a platform delay from a capacity problem
Check the title-screen version and the platform’s update status before making other changes. The October notice warns that rollout timing can vary by platform. A delayed rollout can therefore leave one platform on an older build while another already shows the newer number.

On PC, also check available storage and hardware against Steam’s minimum requirements. An update that cannot be written to the drive or a computer below the supported baseline should not be diagnosed as a server-side failure solely because the download appears stalled.
Use the queue as evidence
Steam’s Library > Downloads view shows whether the patch is queued, paused, downloading, or processing. On consoles, the equivalent evidence is the Updates panel reached through the game’s management menu. Record what the platform reports if you need to contact support; the exact state is more useful than saying only that the game “will not update.”
Do not rely on an old expected version
The August and October version lists differ substantially. If a guide tells you that 1.0.8.0 on Xbox or Steam, or 01.006.000 on PS5, is the required current build, it is describing the earlier support procedure rather than the later October notice. Date-stamp any comparison you make.
Physical and digital editions follow the same launch retry
The October 16 notice specifically covers both physical and digital editions. The distinction does not create a different recovery menu: save, close the game, return to the platform library, and launch again so the automatic check can run. A disc installation still needs the console to complete the update download and installation; a digital installation uses the same platform update controls. If the prompt was declined on either edition, use the normal manual command for that platform rather than looking for a special disc or download code.

This distinction prevents a queued download from being mistaken for a broken patch and gives support a precise description if escalation becomes necessary.
PC crashes during updating or launch
For crashes on Steam or PC Game Pass, Fictions asks players to submit a support ticket so the team can investigate. Include the crash dump when it exists.
Locate the CrashDump
- Open File Explorer.
- Browse to
C:UsersYourUsernameAppDataLocalCrashDumps. - Find the file created around the time of the crash.
- Attach that CrashDump to the support ticket, along with the platform you use and when the crash occurs.
Replace YourUsername in the path with your Windows account name. The folder may not contain a file for every crash; attach the dump when available rather than delaying the report indefinitely.

Consider a BIOS update carefully
Fictions says that updating the computer BIOS may sometimes resolve crashes. BIOS procedures differ by motherboard and system manufacturer. Use the manufacturer’s instructions for your exact model, keep the computer on reliable power, and do not interrupt the firmware process. A BIOS update is a crash-troubleshooting option, not a required step for an ordinary declined update prompt.
What to include in the ticket
- Whether the crash occurs at startup, during an update, or during play.
- Whether you are using Steam or PC Game Pass.
- The title-screen version, if the game reaches it.
- The CrashDump from the documented folder, when present.
- Whether the crash began after a particular patch or hardware/firmware change.
This information gives support a reproducible timeframe and the diagnostic file requested for PC crash investigations.

Steam describes this baseline as approximately low settings at 1080p and about 40 frames per second with DLSS or FSR1. That performance description does not guarantee a particular download speed, but it helps identify systems that may be outside the supported baseline. If the drive has less than the required free space, clear enough capacity before retrying the installation.

The October 9, 2026 v1.1.01 patch, identified as PS5 v1.012.000, added several changes:
- A field-of-view setting on PC.
- Controls to show or hide cutscene skip prompts.
- Fixes for event pacing and skip behavior.
- More even distribution of performance load.
- Environmental and collision fixes.
Fictions said the current post-launch update cycle was coming to a close and that the next planned patch was intended to be the final patch in that phase of major post-launch updates. This context explains why an October notice may show a newer build than an August troubleshooting page; it does not change the platform steps above.
