Most Arctis Nova Pro Wireless problems can be isolated without replacing the headset. First determine whether you have a low or rapidly draining battery, a battery that is not charging, or a wireless connection and pairing failure. Reseat or swap the hot-swappable battery, test the USB-C cable and power source, then use the model-specific base-station reset and re-pair sequence. Only after those steps should you leave the system disconnected for a full power cycle, update firmware in SteelSeries GG, or contact support. Because the headset supports 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth and USB paths on several platforms, identify the failing path before changing settings.
Identify the problem before changing anything
The Nova Pro Wireless has several independent ways to connect and two removable batteries. A symptom that looks like a “dead headset” can therefore come from the battery, the charging path, the 2.4 GHz radio link, Bluetooth, or the USB connection to the host. Write down what still works before you reset anything. For example, Bluetooth audio working while the base station does not points to a different problem than a headset that will not power on with either battery.

Do not begin by changing every audio setting on the computer or console. A setting change cannot repair a battery contact, a damaged USB cable or a lost 2.4 GHz pairing, and it can make the original symptom harder to reproduce.

That design also gives you a useful diagnostic comparison. If the headset behaves normally with one battery and poorly with the other, the symptom follows a removable component. If both batteries produce the same short runtime or charging failure, look at the contacts, cable, power source, base station or headset electronics instead of assuming both cells failed at once.
Two places to charge
The spare battery charges in the battery compartment of the base transmitter (also called the GameDAC or gamehub in the product documentation). You can also charge the battery installed in the headset through the USB-C port beneath the left speaker plate. These are separate charging paths, so test them independently when diagnosing a fault. A battery that charges in the base but not in the headset points you toward the headset USB-C path; a battery that charges in the headset but not in the base points toward the base compartment or its power connection.
When testing, use one battery at a time and note which location is charging it. This prevents a normal charge in one location from being mistaken for a repair of the other location.

The base-station OLED shows battery status, and the battery view in SteelSeries GG Engine provides another reading. SteelSeries’ support guidance says the headset gives a low-battery warning beep at about 15 percent. If the displayed percentage is low but changes normally while charging, you have a runtime or usage issue rather than a “not charging” failure. If the icon never changes with a known-good cable and source, treat that as a charging-indication problem and continue the isolation steps below.

Fix low runtime or a battery that will not charge
Work through these checks in order. They are non-destructive and separate a defective battery from a cable, port or power problem. Keep the original battery available until testing is complete so you can compare results.
- Read the battery indication. Check the icon on the base-station OLED and the battery view in GG Engine. Note whether the percentage is merely low, stays unchanged while connected, or falls unusually quickly after a full charge. A low reading by itself is not evidence that charging has failed.
- Remove and reseat the battery. Take the removable battery out, check that it is oriented correctly, and reinstall it firmly. A poor contact can look like a flat battery. After reseating, check both the headset behavior and the base-station indication.
- Swap in the spare battery. If the second battery charges and provides normal operation, the symptom follows the first battery. If both batteries behave identically, continue with the charging-path checks rather than assuming both batteries failed.
- Test the base compartment separately. Put the battery that is not working into the base-station battery compartment and observe whether the OLED shows charging. Repeat with the spare. This comparison distinguishes a battery fault from a compartment or base power fault.
- Inspect the headset USB-C connection. Look for debris in the port and examine the cable and connector for visible damage or looseness. Do not force a connector that does not seat normally. The USB-C port is under the left speaker plate, so make sure the plug is fully inserted there rather than connected to an unrelated port.
- Try another USB-C cable. Use a known-good cable, since a cable can provide enough intermittent contact to power a device without reliably charging it. Keep the replacement cable in place for the entire test instead of switching cables while watching the indicator.
- Use a known-working power source. Test a wall adapter, a functioning PC USB port, or a powered hub. If charging works from one source but not another, the original source or its cable is the likely cause. On a computer, test a port you know powers another device.
- Leave it connected overnight. If the alternate cable and power source produce no charging indication, leave the headset connected overnight before concluding that the battery or headset has failed. This is a diagnostic wait, not a substitute for checking the indicator. Recheck the same battery and source in the morning and compare the displayed level.

When a battery percentage rises normally but runtime remains short, repeat the swap test before buying anything. A short runtime on only one battery supports replacing that battery. The same short runtime on both batteries is not explained by a single replacement cell and should be escalated after the cable and power checks.
Do not use the wrong reset procedure
SteelSeries has a generic no-charge article that lists pinhole resets for several other Arctis and Nova models. That list explicitly does not apply to Arctis Pro Wireless, and it does not document a pinhole reset for Nova Pro Wireless. Do not insert a pin or follow another model’s hole-reset instructions for this headset. For Nova Pro Wireless, use the base-station menu reset described below. Applying a procedure copied from a different model can waste time and may create a new hardware or configuration problem.
Decide whether a replacement battery is appropriate

Do not choose a battery solely because it fits physically or uses a similar product name. Connector and model compatibility matter, and a listing for another Arctis generation is not confirmation that it works here. If the same failure occurs with both batteries, replacing a battery is unlikely to fix it. A fault that remains after cable and power-source tests may involve the headset USB-C port, base-station compartment or charging electronics and should be handled as a headset or base-station service issue.
Separate 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth and USB connection paths
Before resetting software or console settings, identify the transport that is failing. The product supports 2.4 GHz wireless through the base station, Bluetooth, and USB connections to a host. It also supports dual wireless, simultaneous Bluetooth and Multi-System Connect, so an apparently intermittent connection can be the wrong active transport or system path rather than a failed radio. The product page lists compatibility with these platforms, but the exact operating-system audio menus differ by device. Resolve the transport first; otherwise you can change a console or computer setting that has no effect on the failing link. A Bluetooth test can be useful as a comparison, but it does not repair a 2.4 GHz pairing problem; it only shows whether another radio path still works.
Reset and re-pair the Nova Pro Wireless
Use this procedure when the 2.4 GHz headset-to-base connection fails or remains unreliable after the platform and cable checks. - Open the base-station reset menu. Press the media wheel on the base station and select System Settings > Reset > Yes. Confirm the reset on the base station itself.
- Open the 2.4 GHz pairing screen. Go to Wireless > 2.4G > Pair. When Pair is highlighted, press the wheel to display the pairing instructions.
- Power off the headset. Turn it off completely rather than leaving it in an idle state. If it is unresponsive, hold the power control long enough for the headset to shut down before continuing.
- Start pairing from the headset. Hold the headset power button for at least six seconds, or until you hear the pairing beep. A brief press is not the documented pairing action.
- Wait for confirmation. Keep the headset near the base station while the pairing process completes, then test audio and microphone operation through the intended host. Test the same transport that failed instead of switching immediately to Bluetooth.
- Check firmware after the reset. Once the connection is restored, open SteelSeries GG and check for available firmware updates. Apply an update only after GG detects the connected hardware. Do not treat an update check as a substitute for the reset and re-pair sequence.
Use the full power-cycle procedure for persistent drops
If re-pairing succeeds but the connection continues to drop, perform the documented extended power cycle:
- Unplug all cables from the transmitter or base station.
- Remove the batteries where applicable.
- Leave the headset and base station completely disconnected for at least two hours.
- Reconnect the required cables and reinstall a charged battery.
