If “Picking up the Pieces” will not complete on Pendola Pass, Embark’s October 8, 2026 Frozen Trail notes identify a map-specific bug: the quest works normally on other maps, and a fix is planned but has no stated release date. For other quests, first check that the quest is active and that you are at the location and interaction it specifies; there is no confirmed universal fix for missing objectives.
First, identify whether your quest matches the known bug
Embark’s October 8, 2026 Frozen Trail update notes say “Picking up the Pieces” cannot be completed on Pendola Pass but works normally on other maps. The practical workaround Embark gives is to complete it on another map. The notes say the issue will be fixed in an upcoming update, but do not provide a date.
The same update says Embark fixed an issue that could place items outside their intended areas or containers. It does not say that a specific quest pickup is currently missing because of that issue, so treat it as a general item-placement fix rather than an explanation for every absent objective.

Choose a route for “Picking up the Pieces” on Pendola Pass

For other missing items or objectives, check the quest conditions
- Confirm the quest is active. Check your quest list and activate the relevant quest if it is not active.
- Recheck the stated location and interaction. Go to the place described by the quest and look for the specific object or interaction it names; being nearby may not be enough.
- Use available quest or tracking cues. Embark’s December 2025 update notes say quest-related or tracked ground pickups gained icons. This does not establish that every quest item is always marked, but checking the UI can help distinguish a tracked pickup from ordinary loot.
- If the issue remains, check current patch notes and report it in game. Compare the exact quest and map with Embark’s latest notes, then submit an in-game bug report if no matching fix or known issue is listed.
These checks are basic troubleshooting, not guaranteed remedies. The available official notes do not establish a universal fix for other quests.

Why a quest step or pickup can behave unexpectedly
Embark has acknowledged several distinct quest defects in past updates. They are useful context for recognizing that a missing marker or failed interaction can be game-side, but historical fixes do not prove the same bug is active now.
- Multi-objective completion: The November 13, 2025 version 1.2.0 notes say Embark fixed an issue that prevented completion of quests involving multiple objectives or item collections within one round. The same notes say Greasing Her Palm in Spaceport was changed to include more thrusters that count toward its objective.
- Objectives activating out of order: The June 16, 2026 Live Update 1.33.0 notes report a fix for rare cases where later quest steps appeared before they were intended.
- Missing next-step prompts or unexpected loot: The February 24, 2026 Shrouded Sky notes report fixes for a missing next-objective pop-up in multi-step quests and for a quest item appearing as world loot without the related quest being active.
Because these notes describe fixes from particular updates, check their dates and the exact quest before assuming an old report explains what you are seeing today. Embark’s published notes do not state how many players experienced these problems or how often they occurred.

What not to assume
- Do not assume the Pendola Pass workaround applies to a different quest; Embark only specifies it for “Picking up the Pieces.”
- Do not treat an item-placement fix or an old quest bug fix as proof that a current missing objective is a known issue.
- The official notes do not support changing platform files or using third-party utilities as a fix for a missing quest item or objective.
