First identify whether ARC Raiders is crashing, stuttering, or failing to connect: each symptom calls for different checks. For PC crashes, follow Embark’s crash-specific steps; for matchmaking problems, check the server setting and device clock. The official guidance reviewed here does not prescribe a specific fix for stuttering, so avoid changing several graphics settings at once and record your platform and hardware before troubleshooting further.
Start by identifying the problem
- Crash or launch failure: On PC, use Embark’s crash guide and match any error-specific step to the code you see. Console players should check current official updates for their platform.
- Connection or matchmaking failure: Check the in-game server setting and synchronize your device clock. Embark’s connection guide is labeled for PC, while its clock instructions cover PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
- Stuttering without a crash or disconnect: The official materials cited here do not give a stuttering-specific settings procedure. Record when it happens, your platform and hardware, and any recent game, operating-system, or driver changes.
- Keyboard input stops responding: This is distinct from a crash or general performance issue. Embark’s September 8, 2026 update suggested disabling active overlays and trying Alt-Tab out of the game and back in for a reported Epic-player input issue.
Fix ARC Raiders crashes or launch failures on PC
Embark’s PC crash guide, last updated September 30, 2026, covers requirements, updates, Steam file verification, Easy Anti-Cheat, exit codes, overlays, and third-party software. Use its exact code-specific instructions only when the matching error appears: Embark’s PC crash and launch guide.
Check requirements and recent changes
Compare your PC with Embark’s published targets below. They are stated targets, not guaranteed frame rates for every scene or configuration. If you have enabled Raider Voice (Beta) and the crash occurs in the main menu or while loading, Embark advises trying with it turned off.
Embark lists outdated or incompatible drivers—especially graphics drivers—as common causes of PC crashes. Check for updates to your GPU, CPU, motherboard or BIOS, monitor, network adapter or modem, and peripherals. Also update DirectX and Windows, then restart the PC.

Verify Steam game files
- Open Steam and go to Library.
- Right-click ARC Raiders and select Properties.
- Open Installed Files, then select Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for verification to finish and try launching the game again.
Embark recommends verification because corrupted or missing files can cause crashes. If problems continue, its guide suggests disabling overlays or third-party software.
Apply only the fix for your specific error
- Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) error 30005: Embark says the EAC service may be unable to start, sometimes because another program such as antivirus software has locked an EAC file. Reboot first. If the error remains, Embark lists adding an antivirus exclusion for
Program Files (x86)EasyAntiCheat_EOS; do this only if the error matches. - EAC maximum simultaneous instances: Check Task Manager for a lingering ARC Raiders process. If no process is visible but the error remains, Embark says a full reboot may be required.
- ARAV8007 system integrity violation: Embark says deleting and reinstalling the ARC Raiders game folder may help. This removes the local game files and requires reinstalling them, so reserve it for this named error and follow the official guide.
- Exit Code 0 or 0x1: Embark says these can occur when the game is configured to run as administrator. Turn off that compatibility setting and try again.
- Exit Code 0x3: Embark attributes this usually to a damaged
Cerebro.dlland instructs deleting that file, then verifying game files in Steam. Do not delete it for unrelated errors.
Fix connection and matchmaking errors
Embark’s connection guide is labeled for PC, but its in-game server-setting path applies to PC and console. Its steps are troubleshooting suggestions, not a guarantee that a particular network change will resolve the issue. See the Embark connection troubleshooting guide.

Check the game and your connection
- Use a stable connection. Embark recommends wired Ethernet over Wi-Fi.
- In ARC Raiders, open Gameplay and set Server to Automatic.
- Check that your device is connected to the intended network. Avoid VPNs or proxy services where possible while testing.
Synchronize your device clock
Embark says an incorrect device clock can interfere with matchmaking or connection, and that syncing may also help if you can join only standard maps. Follow the platform path, enable automatic time or sync using the internet as applicable, then fully restart the device and relaunch the game. The instructions were last updated February 26, 2026.

Try Windows network checks
For persistent PC connection problems, Embark’s guide recommends these Windows troubleshooting options:
- Run the built-in Network troubleshooter.
- Try a public DNS server.
- Open Command Prompt and run
ipconfig /release,ipconfig /renew, andipconfig /flushdns, then restart the PC. - If Windows 10 peer-to-peer update downloads are using bandwidth, turn off update sharing and test again.
- If the issue persists, clear the launcher cache using the relevant launcher’s instructions.
What the published PC targets can—and cannot—tell you about stuttering
Embark publishes three PC performance tiers. These describe intended settings, resolution, frame rate, and RAM—not a benchmark on your system or a promise that the game will maintain that rate in every scene. The figures are from Embark’s system-requirements page, last updated October 1, 2025.

These targets provide context for a PC’s capability, but the cited official guidance does not identify a particular graphics setting, driver rollback, or engine version as a stutter fix. Use Embark’s PC system requirements as a reference rather than treating the figures as a diagnosis.
Check dated known-issue notes before repeating fixes
Live Update 1.45.0, published September 8, 2026, reported a PS5 crash fix for an issue shortly after starting a session and a fix for a crash triggered by rapidly pressing certain keys. The update also said ARC Raiders moved from Unreal Engine 5.3 to 5.7; that version change is not evidence that a specific performance problem was fixed.

The same update described stability improvements targeting Xbox Series S crashes and said Embark was aware of PC crashes related to Windows Update KB5121003. Because issue status can change, check for a newer official note before treating those reports as current. The update linked to a Discord workaround for the Windows Update issue, but its instructions are not reproduced here. See Live Update 1.45.0.
What to include when reporting a persistent problem
If the official steps do not resolve the issue, report enough detail to distinguish a game crash from a network or input problem. Include your platform, PC hardware if applicable, store or launcher, the exact error code, when the symptom occurs, and any recent game, operating-system, driver, or overlay changes. For stuttering, note whether it happens continuously or at a particular point, and whether the game also crashes or disconnects.
