Start with the low-risk checks: restart the game and your PC or console, install pending system and graphics updates, verify the game files on Steam, and test your internet connection. Then follow the branch that matches your platform and the exact error. ARC Raiders uses different fixes for Easy Anti-Cheat failures, damaged files, administrator settings, NAT problems, and ordinary network instability. An official checklist cannot confirm that servers are currently online, so check Embark’s announcements or support channel before making disruptive changes.
Use the symptom to choose the right fix
Do not apply every workaround at once. Note whether ARC Raiders fails before the main menu, crashes while loading, shows an Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) message, reaches the menu but cannot matchmake, or disconnects during a session. On PC, record the complete error code; on console, record whether the built-in network test fails at internet access, the platform service, or NAT.

First checks that are safe on any platform
- Close and relaunch the game. If it is frozen, end it from Task Manager on Windows or close it from the console home screen.
- Restart the device. A reboot clears a stuck game process, driver state, and (for EAC) a driver that may not have unloaded correctly.
- Install pending updates. Update Windows or console system software, ARC Raiders, and graphics drivers where applicable. Restart again after installing updates.
- Check the exact message. Photograph or copy the code before trying another fix; codes such as 30005, ARAV8007, and 0x3 point to different causes.
- Check current service information. The official troubleshooting lists explain local checks but do not establish whether a live outage is occurring. Look for current notices in the Embark ARC Raiders technical support center and official announcements. Do not assume that a failed login proves either your network or the servers are at fault.
PC: stop crashes and launch failures
Embark’s PC crash guide was updated September 30, 2026. It recommends confirming the minimum requirements, updating components and software, and matching the fix to the displayed error. The guide specifically notes that outdated or incompatible drivers, especially graphics drivers, are among the most common causes of crashes in PC games; it does not provide a crash-rate statistic for ARC Raiders. Use the official PC crash and launch troubleshooting guide for the current wording of each error.

Confirm the PC can run the game
Steam lists these hardware and operating-system baselines. They are specifications, not a guarantee that every machine at the minimum will be stable. Requirements can change, so recheck the Steam ARC Raiders technical-issue page when you troubleshoot.

If the system is below the minimum, software repairs may not prevent crashes. If it meets the baseline, continue with drivers, files, and the error-specific steps rather than assuming the hardware is adequate for every graphics setting.
Update drivers, Windows, DirectX, and firmware
- Install the current driver for the graphics card from its manufacturer, then reboot.
- Apply Windows updates, including optional hardware or chipset updates that your system vendor supports.
- Check DirectX and motherboard or BIOS updates when the crash began after a hardware or operating-system change.
- Check the monitor, Wi-Fi or network adapter, modem, and connected peripherals for driver or firmware updates if crashes coincide with those devices.
Do not skip the restart after an update: the new driver or system component may not be active until Windows reloads it.
Turn off Raider Voice (Beta) as a test
Embark says Raider Voice (Beta) can cause crashes for some players. If it is enabled, turn it off, restart the game, and test the same menu or loading step. This is a reversible diagnostic change; restore it later only if the game remains stable.
Verify the Steam installation
Missing or damaged files can cause a launch failure or a crash while loading. Steam’s verification checks the installation and replaces problematic files.

- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click ARC Raiders and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files and wait for the process to finish.
- Launch the game again. If Steam downloads replacements, allow that operation to complete before testing.
EAC Error 30005: the service cannot start
Error 30005 means the EAC service could not start. Embark says another program, including antivirus software, may have locked an EAC file.
- Restart the PC. This is Embark’s first recommended step and often clears a locked file or stale service state.
- If the error returns, review security software’s quarantine and blocking history. Do not turn protection off broadly.
- Only if necessary, follow the official EAC instructions linked from Embark’s guide for an exclusion covering
Program Files (x86)EasyAntiCheat_EOS. An exclusion reduces scanning for that folder, so confirm the path and understand the security trade-off before saving it.
If Windows reports an EAC service problem rather than 30005, Embark points to EAC’s self-repair tool and labels it an advanced Command Prompt procedure. Use the linked official EAC instructions from the Embark guide; do not substitute commands from an unverified source.
“Maximum simultaneous game instances reached”
Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and look for an ARC Raiders process. Select it and choose End task, then launch the game once. If no ARC Raiders process is present, Embark says a reboot is required to clear the EAC driver state. Avoid repeatedly starting the game while the first instance is still closing.

- Complete the restart and Steam verification steps above.
- Confirm the installation location in Steam so you do not remove the wrong folder.
- Delete the ARC Raiders folder inside Steam’s
steamappscommondirectory. - Reinstall ARC Raiders from Steam and allow the installation to finish before launching.
Exit Code 0 or 0x1
Embark says these codes can appear when the game is configured to run as administrator. Find the PioneerGame executable or its shortcut, open its compatibility properties, and clear Run this program as an administrator. Apply the change, then start the game normally through Steam. Do not add administrator mode as a generic fix; in this branch it is the setting Embark says to remove.
Exit Code 0x3 and Cerebro.dll
A damaged Cerebro.dll is a usual cause of Exit Code 0x3 according to Embark. Delete that file at the game path specified in its guide, then immediately run Steam’s Verify integrity of game files operation so Steam restores the file. If the file is not at the stated path, stop rather than deleting similarly named files elsewhere.
Crashes that remain after the named fixes
Disable overlays and third-party software temporarily, including recording, performance-monitoring, RGB, and overlay layers. Test one change at a time so you can identify the conflict. If the crash stops, re-enable tools individually. Keep a note of the menu or loading stage, the time, and any code; that information is more useful to support than a statement that the game “just closes.”

Embark’s PC connection article was updated February 27, 2026. It recommends a stable connection, wired Ethernet when possible, and the in-game automatic server selection. Set the matchmaking server to Automatic
- Launch ARC Raiders and open the gear menu.
- Choose Gameplay, then Server.
- Set the matchmaking region to Automatic, save the setting, and try matchmaking again.
A manually selected region can add unnecessary distance or choose a region experiencing a local problem. Automatic selection is a troubleshooting setting, not a promise that a particular server is available.
Stabilize the local connection
- Confirm Wi-Fi is enabled, the PC is using the intended network, and the password has not changed.
- Use Ethernet if possible. Wired networking avoids interference, distance, and congestion that can affect Wi-Fi.
- Avoid VPNs and proxies unless your network requires one; they add another routing point that can complicate matchmaking.
- Pause large downloads, cloud synchronization, and video streams while testing.
- Keep Windows current.
An Ethernet cable can help when Wi-Fi is unstable, but it cannot repair a crash, an EAC error, or a service-side outage.
Run Windows network repair steps
- Run Windows Network Troubleshooter and apply only the changes it recommends.
- As an optional troubleshooting test, switch to a public DNS service using the instructions linked by Embark. Public DNS may change name-resolution behavior; it is not a guaranteed speed or reliability improvement.
- Open Command Prompt and run these commands one at a time:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdnsRestart Windows after the commands complete, then test ARC Raiders before changing another setting.

On Windows 10, check Settings → Update & Security → Delivery Optimization → Allow downloads from other PCs. Disable that option temporarily if background update sharing is consuming bandwidth. For persistent launch or connection behavior, clear the launcher cache using the procedure in Embark’s PC guide. Cache clearing removes temporary data, not your account progress, but follow the guide’s exact location for the launcher version you use.

Console: separate internet, platform, and NAT failures
Embark’s console connection guide was updated February 27, 2026. The first diagnostic is the console’s own internet test: identify whether it fails at internet access, PlayStation Network or Xbox Live, or NAT. That distinction prevents you from changing router settings when the platform service itself is unavailable. See the official console connection checklist for platform-specific menus.
Power-cycle the complete network path
- Fully power off the PS5 or Xbox; do not leave it in rest or instant-on mode.
- Unplug the modem and router for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the modem and router and wait until their normal connection lights return.
- Restart the console, run its internet test, and relaunch ARC Raiders.
Use Ethernet during testing when practical. Wi-Fi performance can be affected by interference, distance, and congestion, so a wired test helps distinguish a wireless problem from a broader service or router issue.
Update software and check NAT
- Install the latest console system software and game update.
- Check the NAT result in the console network settings. Embark’s stated targets are NAT Type 1 or 2 on PlayStation and Open NAT on Xbox.
- Moderate or Strict NAT can interfere with matchmaking. Enabling UPnP on the router may help, but it is not guaranteed to resolve a server-side problem.
If UPnP is unavailable or does not change the result, do not randomly forward ports. Record the NAT type and contact your internet provider or platform support if the console’s own test remains restricted.

Embark also points to public DNS, synchronizing the device clock automatically, and clearing the console cache. Apply one change at a time and retest. If the platform test fails before ARC Raiders starts, resolve that platform or home-network failure first; reinstalling the game will not repair a failed console internet connection.
How to tell a local problem from a possible outage
A game that suddenly fails for multiple devices, regions, or accounts may indicate a service incident, but the materials available here do not establish whether ARC Raiders servers are currently down or provide reliability percentages. Compare results on another network only if it is safe and practical, check official Embark notices, and wait for a confirmed incident update before making destructive changes such as deleting the installation. A successful console internet test or a clean Steam verification proves only that those local checks passed; it does not prove that matchmaking services are healthy.
When to contact Embark support
Escalate through the Embark Help Center technical section when the applicable branch does not resolve the problem, the same error returns after a restart and file check, or you suspect a service-side issue. Include enough detail for support to reproduce or classify the failure:
- Platform (Steam PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox) and, for PC, the Windows version.
- Region and approximate time, including your time zone if the issue is intermittent.
- The exact error text and code, preserving capitalization and punctuation.
- Whether the failure occurs at launch, in the menu, during loading, while matchmaking, or during a session.
- What you already tried: reboot, updates, Steam verification, EAC steps, NAT result, and whether Ethernet changed the behavior.
- Relevant screenshots or logs requested by the support form, with personal information removed.
Do not claim that an antivirus exclusion, DNS change, NAT change, or reinstall is universally safe or effective. These are conditional troubleshooting steps; the displayed symptom and platform determine which one is appropriate.
