The fastest fix is to identify the exact mouse model first, then test power, wired USB, the 2.4 GHz receiver, and Bluetooth in that order. Glorious publishes different instructions for different product families, so do not apply Model O 2 Wireless pairing or firmware-recovery steps to another mouse without checking its guide. Find the model name on the underside of the mouse or its packaging before changing settings.

A symptom such as “won’t connect” can mean several different things: the mouse may be discharged, switched to the wrong mode, unpaired from its receiver, missing Bluetooth hardware on the computer, or affected by firmware. Separating those possibilities prevents a factory reset or firmware procedure from being used when a cable or switch position is the real problem.

Start with the model and connection mode

Look on the underside or packaging for the full model name. The procedures below are specific where noted. A different Glorious wireless mouse may use different buttons, connection modes, firmware tools, or reset combinations.

Model or family Documented connection options Charging information available in the guide What to do
Model O 2 Wireless USB wired, 2.4 GHz receiver, and Bluetooth 5.2 LE Approximately two hours from empty to full, a manufacturer estimate Use the Model O 2 instructions in this article where identified
PRO 1KHz family Use the connection modes and controls listed in its own official guide Approximately three hours from empty to full, a manufacturer estimate Follow the PRO 1KHz family guide for pairing, firmware, and reset procedures
Any other Glorious wireless model Not established here Not stated here Use that model’s official guide rather than guessing button combinations

For Model O 2 Wireless, the included receiver is paired out of the box. Keep it close to the mouse for the best 2.4 GHz performance. A host computer needs built-in Bluetooth or an external Bluetooth adapter for Bluetooth pairing.

Connection mode is the first branch in the diagnosis. USB, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth are separate paths, so success in one does not automatically repair another. Write down which mode fails and which mode still works; that information is useful if you need support.

Use this order to isolate the fault

  1. Identify the model and mode. Confirm whether you are trying USB, 2.4 GHz, or Bluetooth.
  2. Check power. Charge the mouse and look for the model-specific battery indication.
  3. Run a wired test. A working wired connection points toward a wireless, receiver, or pairing problem; it does not prove that the battery or receiver is healthy.
  4. Test one wireless mode at a time. Do not troubleshoot Bluetooth and the receiver simultaneously.
  5. Use firmware recovery only when the symptoms or pairing history justify it. The documented recovery process below is for Model O 2 Wireless.
  6. Reset last. A Model O 2 reset removes custom profile information.

Change one variable at a time. For example, first connect the mouse directly by USB, then test the receiver in a direct port, and only afterward attempt Bluetooth. If you move the switch, change the port, install firmware, and reset the mouse all at once, you lose the evidence that identifies the cause.

Why won’t my Glorious mouse connect?

1. Charge it and verify that it powers on

For Model O 2 Wireless, Glorious recommends a full charge before the first wireless session. Connect the included USB-A end to the computer and the USB-C end to the USB-C port at the front of the mouse. The guide estimates about two hours from empty to full. You can continue using the mouse in wired mode while it is connected.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

On Model O 2 Wireless, hold the DPI button to check battery status, or view the status in CORE. When power is low, the LEDs turn off except for one LED in the left strip, which blinks red. Lighting brightness affects battery life, so unusually bright lighting can shorten the time between charges.

If the mouse shows no lights or pointer movement, do not assume the radio has failed. Confirm that the cable is seated at both ends, leave it connected for the stated charging period, and then repeat the wired test. Battery indications and button combinations differ by product family, so use the matching guide for another model.

2. Test USB before troubleshooting wireless

With the mouse switched to its wired setting and connected directly to the computer, move the pointer and check whether the device is detected. Try another known-good USB port if the first port provides no response. This test separates a basic power or mouse-electronics issue from a wireless-link issue, but a successful wired test alone cannot certify the battery, receiver, or Bluetooth radio.

For later firmware work, the Model O 2 procedure specifically calls for direct USB 2.0 connections. During an ordinary wired test, the important points are a firm connection and a port that the computer recognizes; during recovery, follow the stricter USB 2.0 and no-hub requirements below.

3. Reconnect the Model O 2 Wireless receiver

Switch the Model O 2 Wireless to its 2.4 GHz mode and connect the included receiver directly to the computer. Keep the receiver physically close to the mouse; distance and nearby USB equipment can reduce reliability. Avoid placing the receiver behind a metal case or at the far end of a desk while diagnosing the problem.

The receiver should already be paired when supplied. If the receiver was previously paired and the mouse still does not respond, continue to the documented firmware and receiver-pairing procedure rather than repeatedly switching modes. Remove a USB hub from the path during diagnosis and temporarily disconnect other wireless devices if you are preparing for firmware recovery.

4. Pair Model O 2 Wireless over Bluetooth

Bluetooth pairing is a separate process from 2.4 GHz receiver use. On the Model O 2 Wireless:

  1. Move the switch on the underside to BT.
  2. Hold the DPI button and both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue.
  3. Open the computer’s Bluetooth settings and select Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini, whichever matches your mouse.

If no device appears, confirm that the computer has built-in Bluetooth or a working external adapter. A receiver plugged into the computer does not substitute for Bluetooth hardware when using BT mode. Also check that the switch is actually in BT rather than the 2.4 GHz or wired position before repeating the button sequence.

Why won’t my Glorious mouse charge?

Check the cable, port, and charging indication

Use the included USB-A-to-USB-C cable for the Model O 2 Wireless and connect it to the mouse’s front USB-C port. Inspect both connectors for looseness or visible damage, and try a different computer USB port. The approximately two-hour zero-to-full figure is Glorious’s estimate, not an independent measurement.

If the mouse works while connected but never gains battery capacity, leave it connected long enough to exceed the stated charge estimate, then check the battery level with the DPI button or CORE. If it powers off as soon as the cable is removed, the issue may involve the battery, charging circuit, or port rather than wireless pairing.

Do not interpret a working pointer while plugged in as proof that charging is occurring. Wired operation can supply power and data even when the battery is not accepting a charge. Compare the battery indication before and after charging and note whether the behavior changes when the cable is moved; those observations help support distinguish a charging fault from a wireless configuration fault.

When a replacement cable is reasonable

A replacement USB-A-to-USB-C cable is worth considering only when the original cable is missing or damaged. Confirm that the connectors fit and that the cable supports data as well as charging if you need wired operation. A new cable cannot be expected to repair a faulty mouse port, battery, receiver, or firmware, and no particular third-party cable has been verified here.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Because the included cable is listed for both Model O 2 and PRO guides, connector fit still must be checked against the exact mouse. Do not buy a cable on the assumption that it will restore wireless operation; it is primarily a way to supply power and, where supported, test wired communication.

PRO 1KHz charging qualification

The PRO 1KHz family guide gives an approximately three-hour empty-to-full estimate. That figure applies to the covered PRO 1KHz model, not automatically to Model O 2 Wireless or another Glorious mouse. Use the PRO guide’s charging indicator and port instructions for that family.

Why does my Glorious mouse keep disconnecting?

Determine whether the dropouts are wired or wireless

Use the mouse in wired mode for several minutes, including the activity that normally triggers a dropout. If the wired connection remains stable while Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz fails, focus on the selected wireless mode, receiver placement, pairing, and firmware. If wired operation also stops, investigate USB power, the cable, the mouse port, or the mouse itself before treating the problem as radio interference.

Record when the dropout occurs: immediately after switching modes, after the computer sleeps or shuts down, while holding a particular key such as Caps Lock, or when changing DPI. These details are more useful than repeatedly reconnecting without noting the trigger. The Model O 2 changelog specifically mentions automatic power-off when the computer is off, disconnections associated with holding Caps Lock while wired, and cursor lag or pauses during DPI changes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Improve the 2.4 GHz receiver setup

  • Plug the receiver directly into the computer during testing.
  • Keep it close to the mouse, as Glorious recommends for Model O 2 Wireless.
  • Remove unnecessary USB hubs and other wireless devices while diagnosing a receiver or firmware issue.
  • Use the correct 2.4 GHz position on the mouse rather than Bluetooth or wired mode.

These checks identify common setup problems; they do not establish that one connection mode is universally more reliable than another. A close receiver can help reveal a placement problem, but persistent failures after a direct connection and correct mode point toward pairing, firmware, hardware, or model-specific support steps.

Check firmware changes on Model O 2 Wireless

Glorious lists Model O 2 Wireless firmware version v265, released March 31, 2026. The changelog lists fixes for automatic mouse power-off when the computer is off, disconnections associated with holding Caps Lock while wired, lighting-profile behavior, and cursor lag or pauses during DPI changes. Those notes apply to Model O 2 Wireless specifically. Updating may address one of those listed conditions, but it is not a guarantee against every intermittent connection problem.

Do not install a firmware file or follow a recovery sequence intended for another Glorious family. Verify the model shown in CORE and in the product guide first. Firmware troubleshooting is a separate branch from charging: a full battery and a good cable do not, by themselves, repair a receiver that has lost pairing.

Model O 2 Wireless receiver and firmware recovery

Use this procedure only for the documented Model O 2 Wireless firmware workflow. Do not treat it as a universal procedure for every Glorious mouse.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Prepare the computer

  1. Disconnect other wireless devices temporarily.
  2. Use direct USB 2.0 ports for both the mouse cable and receiver.
  3. Remove any USB hub from the path.
  4. Run CORE normally; do not run it as administrator.

The preparation matters because a hub, another wireless device, or an elevated CORE session can make the documented utility behave differently from the supported setup. Keep the mouse and receiver connected as instructed rather than moving them between ports during the update.

Retry the firmware update in CORE

  1. Connect the mouse to the computer by USB and connect the receiver.
  2. Open CORE. If no update prompt appears, open Settings and choose Retry Firmware Update.
  3. Follow CORE’s pairing utility exactly.
  4. If updating fails, verify that the mouse remains plugged in by USB and that the computer has an active internet connection, then retry.

An absent prompt is not a reason to download an unrelated file or force a reset. Use the Settings retry option supplied by CORE, and keep the internet connection active if the update fails. If the utility reports success but the mouse still will not connect, continue with the receiver-pairing step rather than assuming that firmware alone restored the link.

Complete the receiver-pairing step

  1. Unplug the mouse.
  2. Switch the mouse off.
  3. Place it within 10 inches of the receiver.
  4. Hold the middle mouse-wheel button.
  5. While continuing to hold the wheel button, switch the mouse to 2.4 GHz.
  6. Keep holding until CORE confirms that pairing succeeded.

The distance and button timing are part of this model-specific procedure. Do not release the wheel button as soon as the LEDs change; keep holding until CORE gives confirmation. If CORE never confirms the pairing, stop repeating the sequence indefinitely. Recheck the model, direct USB connections, administrator setting, and internet connection, then contact Glorious support if the official recovery steps still fail.

Reset the mouse only after simpler fixes

For Model O 2 Wireless, hold the left-click, right-click, and scroll-click buttons together for five seconds. The LEDs flash green when the reset occurs. This factory reset erases custom profile information, so record any settings you need before using it. Resetting is not a substitute for charging, correcting the connection mode, or completing the documented receiver procedure.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A reset is therefore a last diagnostic step, not a routine response to every dropout. If the mouse is not identified correctly, the reset combination may do nothing or may belong to another model. Use the exact guide before holding multiple buttons, especially if preserving profiles matters.

Choose the right fix from the symptom

Symptom First check Next documented action
No response in any mode Model identification, charge, cable, and direct USB test If wired operation also fails, contact support after checking the port and cable
Wired works; 2.4 GHz does not Receiver proximity, direct USB connection, and correct 2.4 GHz switch position Use the Model O 2 firmware and receiver-pairing workflow if that is your model
Wired works; Bluetooth does not Bluetooth hardware on the computer and the BT pairing sequence Pair the Model O 2 using DPI plus both side buttons until blue LEDs flash
Mouse disconnects after firmware or pairing changes Model-specific firmware status and clean USB setup Retry the update in CORE using the documented USB 2.0 and no-hub conditions
Mouse works only while charging Charge duration, battery indication, cable, and front USB-C port Escalate if capacity never increases or wireless use immediately fails after charging

This comparison is deliberately symptom-based. A Bluetooth failure on a computer without Bluetooth hardware requires an adapter or another connection mode, while a receiver failure on Model O 2 calls for receiver placement and possibly the pairing utility. A mouse that fails in wired mode should not be treated as a simple radio problem.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Using another model’s button sequence. Bluetooth and reset combinations are not universal.
  • Confusing the receiver with Bluetooth. The included 2.4 GHz receiver does not provide Bluetooth capability.
  • Testing through a hub during recovery. The Model O 2 firmware guide calls for direct USB 2.0 connections and no hub.
  • Running CORE as administrator. The documented recovery workflow says to run it normally.
  • Replacing a cable as a cure-all. A cable cannot fix a failed battery, port, receiver, or firmware.
  • Resetting before recording profiles. The Model O 2 reset erases custom profile information.
  • Assuming a firmware note covers every symptom. Version v265 lists particular fixes; it is not a promise that every intermittent disconnection will disappear.

When to contact Glorious support

Contact Glorious support when the official, model-specific instructions do not restore operation; when the mouse will not work in wired mode; when the battery never charges after a correctly connected cable and adequate time; or when CORE cannot complete the documented recovery process. Include the exact model name, the connection mode that fails, whether wired operation works, the LED behavior, the computer’s operating system, and what changed immediately before the fault.

FAQ

How do I pair my Glorious wireless mouse? First identify the model. For Model O 2 Wireless Bluetooth, set the underside switch to BT, hold DPI and both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue, then select Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini in the computer’s Bluetooth settings. For 2.4 GHz, select that mode and use the included receiver; follow the model guide if pairing has been lost.

Why won’t my Glorious mouse connect even though it is charged? A charge rules out only one possibility. Test USB, confirm the switch position, keep the Model O 2 receiver close and directly connected, or verify that the computer has Bluetooth hardware for BT mode. If receiver pairing or firmware is suspected, use the documented CORE procedure for the exact model.

Why won’t my Glorious mouse charge? On Model O 2 Wireless, use the included USB-A-to-USB-C cable at the front USB-C port and allow about two hours from empty to full. Check the battery indication in CORE or with the DPI button. If capacity never increases or the mouse works only while plugged in, contact support rather than assuming a new cable will repair the battery or port.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why does my Glorious mouse keep disconnecting? Compare wired and wireless behavior. Stable wired use points toward receiver placement, Bluetooth pairing, or firmware; failures in wired mode point toward USB power, the cable, port, or mouse hardware. For Model O 2, v265, released March 31, 2026, lists fixes for several specific power, Caps Lock, lighting, and DPI-related conditions.

Can I use the Model O 2 reset on another Glorious mouse? No. Holding left click, right click, and scroll click for five seconds is documented here for Model O 2 Wireless only, and it erases custom profile information. Use the other model’s official reset instructions.

Does a USB receiver work for Bluetooth pairing? No. The Model O 2 receiver is the 2.4 GHz connection. Bluetooth requires built-in Bluetooth on the computer or an external adapter, and it uses the separate BT pairing sequence.

Should I buy a replacement receiver or battery? Not until Glorious confirms compatibility for the exact model. The guides do not establish universal receiver or battery interchangeability. Escalate through official support after the model-specific checks fail.

Bottom line

Identify the exact Glorious model, charge it with the correct cable, prove whether wired USB works, and then troubleshoot only the wireless mode that fails. For Model O 2 Wireless, use the close 2.4 GHz receiver setup, the documented Bluetooth button sequence, and the CORE firmware-pairing procedure when appropriate. Reserve a factory reset for last because it erases profiles, and contact Glorious when model-specific recovery does not restore a stable connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pair my Glorious wireless mouse?

Identify the model first. For Model O 2 Wireless Bluetooth, set the switch to BT, hold DPI and both side buttons until the LEDs flash blue, then select Model O 2 or Model O 2 Mini in Bluetooth settings. For 2.4 GHz, use the included receiver and the model’s documented pairing steps.

Why won’t my Glorious mouse connect even though it is charged?

Test wired USB, confirm the switch position, keep the Model O 2 receiver close and directly connected, and verify Bluetooth hardware if using BT mode. Use CORE recovery only for the exact model covered by that procedure.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why won’t my Glorious mouse charge?

For Model O 2 Wireless, connect the included USB-A-to-USB-C cable to the front USB-C port and allow about two hours from empty to full. Check status in CORE or with the DPI button. If capacity never increases, contact support.

Why does my Glorious mouse keep disconnecting?

Compare wired and wireless behavior. Stable wired use points toward receiver placement, pairing, or firmware; wired failures point toward USB power, cable, port, or mouse hardware. Model O 2 firmware v265, released March 31, 2026, addresses several specific conditions but not every dropout.

No. The three-button, five-second reset is documented for Model O 2 Wireless only and erases custom profile information. Follow the exact guide for another model.

Does a USB receiver work for Bluetooth pairing?

No. The receiver provides the 2.4 GHz connection. Bluetooth requires built-in Bluetooth on the computer or an external adapter and uses a separate pairing sequence.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Should I buy a replacement receiver or battery?

Wait until Glorious confirms compatibility for the exact model. The guides do not establish universal receiver or battery interchangeability.

How long does a Glorious wireless mouse take to charge?

The Model O 2 Wireless guide estimates approximately two hours from empty to full; the covered PRO 1KHz guide estimates approximately three hours. These figures are model-specific manufacturer estimates.

The Bottom Line

Identify the model, charge and test USB, then troubleshoot the failing wireless mode with that model’s official procedure. Model O 2 Wireless users can use its documented Bluetooth, receiver, CORE recovery, and reset steps; other models require their own guides. Contact Glorious if wired operation, charging, or model-specific recovery still fails.
