To use the Reel of Fortune in How to Fish, bring a Drip creature to a machine, follow its insert prompt, and spend the creature for one spin. The machine awards a random cosmetic skin; a Drip guarantees an attempt, not a legendary reward.
Where to find a Reel of Fortune
Guides report that there is a Reel of Fortune machine on every island. They do not establish verified coordinates for each machine, so look around the island rather than relying on a specific map marker. NerdsChalk’s guide, updated August 24, 2026, covers the machine’s location and use.
What you need before spinning
Bring a Drip creature
A Drip creature is described in guides as a rare, rainbow-named variant and is the usual input for the machine. The machine consumes it when you spin, so use one you are willing to spend. NerdsChalk and the How-to-Fish Game Wiki both describe this input.
Keep quest items safe
A community wiki says the machine may accept quest items, including boss trophies that could be needed for progression. That warning is not confirmed by an official source, so avoid experimenting with required items: keep any trophy needed for a quest hand-in and use a Drip creature instead. How to Fish Grand Wiki describes the possible quest-item interaction.

- Collect the random skin awarded by the spin.
What a spin can reward
The Reel of Fortune awards a random skin for an in-game item. Guides describe these skins as cosmetic, not stat upgrades. The result is random: using a Drip creature does not guarantee a legendary skin. The How-to-Fish Game Wiki describes the cosmetic reward and connects a legendary skin from the machine with the GOLD GOLD GOLD achievement.
Are there known odds or a guaranteed number of spins?
No guaranteed number of spins for a legendary skin is established. One community wiki, updated September 2, 2026, says its figures were checked against Patch 1.0.11 and claims a ten-slot rarity split of one legendary, two rare, and seven common results. That would imply 10% legendary, 20% rare, and 70% common rarity chances per spin, but other guides do not corroborate those figures and no official game documentation for the mechanic was identified. Treat them as unconfirmed claims, not dependable odds. How to Fish Grand Wiki gives the figures; How-to-Fish Game Wiki describes random rarity without confirming them.
Rank #2
The same community wiki claims that reward pools vary by island. Because those pools and odds are not independently confirmed, there is no reliable basis here for choosing an island to improve your chance of a particular skin.

Guides associate unlocking a legendary skin from the Reel of Fortune with the GOLD GOLD GOLD achievement. Since neither a guaranteed spin count nor verified drop odds are established, pursue it only with Drip creatures you are comfortable spending. NerdsChalk and the How-to-Fish Game Wiki describe the achievement connection.
