Fishing in Nivalis Nights is a boat-based way to gather ingredients for your food business, including sushi dishes. The developer confirms that you can fish during the day or at night. For the practical first steps, a community walkthrough reports that Boardwalk Ady at the Docks gives you a free Rusty Fishing Rod; you then equip it from your inventory and use a cast-and-reel timing prompt.
How do you get the fishing rod in Nivalis Nights?
A third-party walkthrough reports that you can obtain the Rusty Fishing Rod from Boardwalk Ady at the Docks. The official game material reviewed confirms fishing as a feature, but does not document this NPC or the rod handoff, so treat this as a community-reported route rather than an official instruction.
- Travel to the Docks and find Boardwalk Ady on the pier.
- Talk to him to receive the Rusty Fishing Rod, according to the walkthrough.
- Open your inventory and equip the rod manually.
If the NPC, item, or interaction differs in your current game build, follow the on-screen prompts.
How do you fish in Nivalis Nights?
The same community walkthrough describes a cast-and-reel timing mechanic: aim at the water and left-click to cast, then watch the face icon. When it turns amber, left-click again to reel in. Official sources reviewed do not confirm these specific controls or the indicator, so use current in-game prompts if your controls differ.

What is fishing for?
Fishing is part of the game’s exploration and ingredient-gathering loop. The developer says players can set sail from the docks to look for catches for sushi dishes “whether during the day or at night.” The announcement also says gathering ingredients for the business kitchen is primarily the player’s responsibility. Read the developer’s Steam announcement.
The Steam store listing likewise describes fishing by boat alongside running restaurants and nightclubs, and identifies Nivalis Nights as developed by ION LANDS and published by 505 Games. These sources support fishing as a way to source ingredients, but do not establish catch rates, guaranteed earnings, or a most profitable fish.

This is a community-reported list, not an official species count; the official sources reviewed do not provide a complete fish catalog.
The available official material also does not establish species-specific locations, time or weather windows, sale prices, or a best-value route. Check current in-game records and prompts for details rather than assuming a location or schedule from an unverified list.
